The white oak was huge over 176 years old but they took it down safely with a highly skilled crew lead by expert crane operator. Truly a show to watch. The oak tree was right next to and overhanging the house, so naturally they blow off the roof when done. The entire tree removal process from obtaining the initial estimate to completion deserved an exceptional rating with superior value added. In fact, they had multiple team members reach out to myself and my neighbor, whom we did a project together (tree removal). The project walk-through was excellent and the quote came the same day. I liked when the customer representative walked through with me, asked if I was a veteran (and I am), and provided me a veteran discount. The quote was obviously the best, as we went with them, but even if another vendor came in at the same price, I would probably go with JL Tree bc of their responsiveness. I had one vendor who didn't call me back for over 30 days! The day of the project was excellent. The foreman and I walked through the project (three tree removals). We reached out to them and 3 other certified arborists to get a quote on pruning 6 trees and removing 2 including stump grinding. East Coast was selected due to reviews from my local Facebook group and their middle of the pack pricing. When we selected to work with them, we revised the work to be 7 trees pruned and 1 removed including stump grinding. After confirming everything on June 13th, we didn't hear back so we followed up on June 17th. June 18th they said they would be out some time the next week. By July 2nd, we hadn't heard anything and had to follow up again asking for an actual date to be scheduled. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and completed the work as expected. The crew was great as mentioned before. When they completed the work, I reviewed it that evening and noticed two things. 1) The removed tree stump was not ground. 2) The yard/grass was heavily torn up. I was a bit shocked the yard damage was never warned or mentioned throughout the entire process. I decided to disregard it but definitely keep that in mind if you hire them and actually care about your yard. I reached out to them about the stump grinding and the proceeded to inform me they couldn't do it on the hill! Not once during this entire process did they ever mention that being a concern. The other 3 companies didn't even mention it as a concern. As a result I informed them the cost needed to be adjusted since they didn't do that work. I raised my concerns on July 11th and it went ignored until they sent me the invoice on July 20th. 9 days and not a word from them. I proceeded to inform them I would not pay until my complaints were resolved. They promptly replied to that (of course!) and said the owner would reach out. July 21st and I haven't heard anything further so I'm writing this review to help raise awareness and try to make them take this serious. I will update if/when they resolve this.

I have to give props to East Coast Arborist (ECA) for transforming my yard into something I never…read morethought possible. My yard began with multiple maple trees where the huge above ground roots engulfed 2/3 of my yard. They were so bad that I had to use a weed whacker just to cut my grass in many areas of the yard. In addition, the previous owners had carved out large landscaped beds without ever planting anything, and in turn became weed beds. I contracted ECA to remove three trees plus the stumps; an extra stump from a tree I previous cut down; grind the roots in the yard and grade it as well; finally, lay new sod. Initially they planned on four days however it took them only 3. Also, not only did they do the work that was proposed and agreed upon, they went above and beyond by streamlining all of the weed beds into much more manageable beds, mulching all of the landscaped areas, cleaning up existing brush, and trimming the bushes. They were prompt, tidy (leaving no mess behind), courteous, and professional. There were no hidden costs and the costs they did provide were very competitive, in fact beating many. For what I received, not only with the work they performed in my yard, but also good customer service and friendly staff, as well as a phenomenal price, I would recommend ECA to anyone. Also and in parallel, my neighbor used ECA to remove a tree and trim a few others. He, too, was satisfied. Thanks to John and his staff for providing such outstanding service!!!
