Recently, we dined at a restaurant that provided complimentary valet service through Luxury Valet and Shuttle. Upon arrival, the valet attendant parked our three cars. When we were ready to leave, we retrieved and drove our cars ourselves, as they had parked the cars right outside the restaurant. We left some tips to the valet attendant, Edgar, who was also the owner of Luxury Valet and Shuttle. He counted the money in front of us and became rude and started complaining about the amount we had tipped. We explained that was the only cash we had on us at the time, but he continued to complain. He then started speaking in Spanish in a hostile manner, apparently assuming that we would not understand him. However, my husband understands Spanish. I feel that, regardless of whether the valet service is complimentary, a service provider should never complain about the amount of a tip or pressure customers to give more. A tip is discretionary, and customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable because of the amount they give. On the other hand, the lady who actually parked our cars at arrival was extremely professional and courteous. She was even apologetic about the owner's behavior. Haven't really had any negative experiences around valet parking in the past but wanted to share my experience as a customer for anyone looking to hire them. 1. They wrote the wrong time on my ticket, incorrectly writing that I started parking there at 1:10 but actually arrived at 2:10. When I brought this up, they did accept what I said. I made sure to arrive promptly back there at 5:10 to move my car but the lead guy insisted I was there one minute over that time and then charged me $20. 2. I asked if they could put my sun visor up since I had fruit from the farmers market I didn't want to go bad in the sun and when they refused, I asked to park the car myself which they also refused. read more

Edgar and his team was absolutely wonderful at our event. We had an event with about 300 people at our company and needed a valet service to help with our guests. I was unsure of how many cars could fit in our parking lot, so I reached out to multiple valet services to get an estimate from each. This companies quote on yelp was a joke. I put out a question on help for service between Simi Valley and LAX for December. I got about 6 quotes all in the same ballpark for limo or suv transport. This company I responded to this way : Just fyi I thought you had to be kidding because I asked for quotes from yelp and everyone is in the 160 to 180 ballpark. You $475 each way$950?? ...
