I took my chances today as a walk in and I was so excited that they had time to squeeze me in. The set up of the nail stations is really unique; it's like a wrap around bar. I received a gel manicure by Kathy; she was very fast (in a good way) and applied the gel accurately. My nails look great and I loved the convenience of being able to snag a last minute walk in! I booked another appointment for two weeks. I'd like to try their spa pedicure next time. I look forward to my next visit! I have been disappointed there a couple of times. A few months ago I went with my daughter, and the girl doing my pedicure kept walking away to help other people. I got my nails done here last week I asked for a dip French mani she did clear dip then a gel mani because she said it looked more natural but still charged me the price for the dip. My nails look awful and have already chipped when it's been less than a week. My pedi also chipped. I L.O.V.E. this salon! I drive up from Plymouth to get my nails done here. The pedicures are pretty dreamy, with super-plush built-in chairs, plenty of space for your bag/magazine/drink/whatever, hot stone massages, and LAP PILLOWS! Why do lap pillows excite me so? Not sure, but they do. I really so love the pedicures here, but really I trek all the way up here for the gel manicures. I like the gel mani because it lasts a while but it's still my real nails. I can wait three weeks easily between polish changes when it get my gel mani at Luxy, and when I want to do something fun and different the girls are good at helping me brainstorm ideas. I have referred many people there and they have all given negative feedback. My self and my daughter went to get a new set on and they had me in heated gloves to remove my nails that I had on prior for over an hour and my daughters nails fell off not even a week later. They a rude and rush through everything just to keep taking more customers. So, because I've had such a hard time finding a nail salon that actually do a good job I decided to give them a second chance it it was even worse than the first time. Owners refused to honor my gift certificate. It was old, but less than 5 years old. A woman took it and tore it up. I asked for the torn up gift certificate back and took it with me. Everything I can find online says that gift certificates must be honored for 5 years according to federal law and 7 years in MA. The owner claimed it is less than 1 year. I gave them another try today beacuse I had a gift card. Well, although my nails look fine, when I was paying she told me she would be charging me $5 extra because I had gone elsewhere for my nail care. I paid and told them they won't be seeing me again. My response to Luxy nails explanation in reply section ** NEVER EVER have I or anyone else I have shared this with (and believe me I have shared it with many people ) been asked to pay an additional fee for removal NOR have I ever been asked "where did you get your nails done last" So don't speak for other salons and their practice. I have been to almost every local salon. In fact, upon sharing this story I have heard some equally horrifying tales of your poor poor business practices. Shameful, really . ***** *** just to be clear NO ONE said the charge was for removing someone else's work ( which is also ridiculous IMO) She said " you pay 5 dollars extra because you go somewhere else". Coming here had to be one of the strangest waxing experiences I've ever had. I called earlier in the day to schedule an appointment. The person answering my call said they were very busy so I scheduled my appointment for later that afternoon. Once I got there, everyone stared at me like I was going to steal something. Nope, just a quick wax and I'll be on my way. Except it wasn't quick. She was apparently trying to do pedicures (their bread and butter) so once she took me back, I literally sat on the table for 25 mins waiting. She came in, waxed part, then left for a while, came back and finished my wax, left again. Somewhere in between there, she talked me into a free eyebrow wax because of the wait and only charged me half of what it would've cost. I left an hour later... Usually a wax takes 20ish mins tops. She was very nice if not a little pushy. I got an eyebrow wax I wasn't looking for and a Brazilian I was. What can I really say here? I mean, next time I'll wait until they're less busy before scheduling an appointment? Not a bad experience just super bizarre. read more

This was my first visit to this nail salon. I asked for a pedicure and a gel polish, but not a manicure. The pedicure was great and I got the star treatment, but I was not informed it was the upgrade from just a regular pedicure for which I asked for. I then proceeded to get just a gel polish. She proceeded in giving a deluxe manicure. I went to pay and they advised it was $60 because I got the upgraded treatment which I did not request or asked if I wanted. The reason I am writing this review is that my thumb chipped within a day and 3 days later all the gel was lifting and chipping.Very frustrating and disappointing. Been here twice. First was a pedicure , second a gel manicure. Came on a Sunday around 12:30 for the pedi. It was good, 4 out of 5 stars. Comfortable chair, liked the heated booties, mint bath salts were a nice touch. The polish job itself wasn't the best I've had but good enough id come back for another to really judge it better and probably with a different person. Gel mani was a Friday afternoon and this place was hoppin'. People were getting pissed that they had appointments and still ended up waiting 20 minutes. The mani was done by Peter and it was ok, not the best and I wouldn't want him to do my nails again. The way they were done, shape and what not, isn't the best so I'll make sure to always ask for someone else. Not gonna lie, it was a little awkward too with 20 women in there then a random guy working. We'll see how long the manicure lasts. This is overall a decent enough place but they need to do something about the scheduling. It just doesn't work. I had to wait 15 min for someone I didn't even book with or want to do my nails but I didn't wanna wait another hour for one of the girls to do it. It does seem like a lot of the polishes need replacing, though. They're very thick and goopy and that contributes to chipping sooner. Good selection of colors but again, they need to start replacing old ones. I plan to go back for one more pedi and mani to see if I'd become a regular here. When Luxy first opened it was my favorite nail salon , they were always nice and greeted you with a smile. Things have clearly changed in their quality and they rudely stare at customers. I've never been in so much pain getting a fill. First of all toe nail clippers were used to trim my acrylic nails, then when she was using the drill to shape my nails it was extremely painful. She also nicked the skin around my nails. I left there with my nails being bumpy and very unsatisfied. I got a gel fill last night and this morning I realize that my nails are already chipped. Not only have is this place more than others... $35 for a gel fill but they don't do a good job. I will return today for them to fix my nails but then after that I will not be returning. I highly recommend The Gel Polish bar 5 minutes down the street they do an amazing job! read more

I went here for the first time to get my nails filled. For me there wasn't any wait, a woman nicely greeted me and offered me water and quickly got to finishing my nails. She did a great almond shape to my nails liked asked. I did have a hard time finding a shade I thoroughly liked here. I actually switched it 3 times! She ended up painting them almost see through when I asked for a nice pink color. That made me upset. It was $20, and one of the nails actually chipped and i don't even know when or how it did. I don't think I'll go back just because the lack of neutral or quality of their polishes. But they are very friendly there and I guess if you're looking for a plain manicure or pedi, this location isn't a bad choice. read more

I have visited this salon before and had a very nice pedicure. My only complaint was that with the beautiful open environment the staff should have been friendly! I found them rather snooty but the young woman gave a great pedicure. Today, I made a reservation for my three sisters and I to get full acrylic sets. Together. I was very clear and flexible on the timing of our reservation because I wanted to be sure we could be together or at least somewhat together. It was 45 minutes after our reservation and after taking other guests they brought my first sister. One after another the three of them and not me were in chairs 1 1/2 hours after our reserved time. They spent no more than 30 minutes rushing to complete each set. The finished product was very displeasing. Many nails were far too short, and offset.
