I went here for the first time to get my nails filled. For me there wasn't any wait, a woman nicely greeted me and offered me water and quickly got to finishing my nails. She did a great almond shape to my nails liked asked. I did have a hard time finding a shade I thoroughly liked here. I actually switched it 3 times! She ended up painting them almost see through when I asked for a nice pink color. That made me upset. It was $20, and one of the nails actually chipped and i don't even know when or how it did. I don't think I'll go back just because the lack of neutral or quality of their polishes. But they are very friendly there and I guess if you're looking for a plain manicure or pedi, this location isn't a bad choice. read more

I have visited this salon before and had a very nice pedicure. My only complaint was that with the beautiful open environment the staff should have been friendly! I found them rather snooty but the young woman gave a great pedicure. Today, I made a reservation for my three sisters and I to get full acrylic sets. Together. I was very clear and flexible on the timing of our reservation because I wanted to be sure we could be together or at least somewhat together. It was 45 minutes after our reservation and after taking other guests they brought my first sister. One after another the three of them and not me were in chairs 1 1/2 hours after our reserved time. They spent no more than 30 minutes rushing to complete each set. The finished product was very displeasing. Many nails were far too short, and offset. My brother's fiancé and I wanted to get our nails done and she wanted to try a new place so we went to Luxxy. When we walked in we were ignored while the staff sat and talked. By the time we finally came over we had our polishes picked out. I got a gel manicure and whisk the man was doing my nails he was talking on his cell phone. He did a horrible job and the polish chipped off after 2 days. It was rushed and for what I paid I will not return. My brother's fiancé was not happy with her pedicure as well. I'm not sure why this nail salon has a low rating on Yelp. This was by far one of the best nail salons I have ever been to. They were extremely welcoming as soon as I walked in the door and had a very different feel than usual nail salons. They offered me water, tea, or coffee and asked me if I brought snacks or wine to enjoy. I went in for a standard pedicure which used heated stones and heated "shoes" for lack of a better term, for no additional cost. Vivian was detail oriented and made sure I was happy with the length, shape, and polish the entire time. It's since been 3 weeks and they still look great. The owner came over to make sure I was enjoying my pedicure and to make small talk. She gave me a discount because it was my first time. I could go on and on about small details of this salon that were exceptional, but I encourage you to go in yourself! Went here today with my daughter.... while looking for color for our gel (me) and her fill, we were yelled at to "sit down!" even though we we were trying to find our colors. Quite rude.... then the woman doing my daughters nails tried to talk her out of what she wanted, conversing with the woman doing my nails, saying it "wouldn't look good." They had done this the last time my daughter was there and talked her out of the color she wanted. Not this time. I told them to please do what we are asking, after all, we are the ones paying for it. Simple concept, really, if she doesn't like it, it's her fault, not the salons fault. The woman doing my nails was extremely rude and unfriendly to me, I felt that I was bothering her. I am a nice person and tried to be friendly, but I can only be treated so poorly for so long. I knew I shouldn't have tried it after going there a couple months ago and being received very rudely by a man working there (I left that day without services). I left with several cuts, a really bad and rushed pedicure, and there were people walking barefoot across the floor (I insisted on having my shoes because ewwww). I don't know what happened to this place. I used to love coming here, sent lots of friends here.... quality went way down. Maybe I sent too many people because the girl rushing to finish my pedicure was working on another one at the same time. Many people go to get their nails done to relax, not have lotion slapped on and rubbed in with a rock as fast as the person can physically move their hands. I'm more worried about the cleanliness and the fact that I have cuts all over cuticles. And if they were too busy to put a top coat on my toes while I was sitting in the chair getting a pedi, how did they have enough time to clean the sinks out between pedicures? I came here about a month ago to get a gel manicure, I had Lynda. In order to remove the previous gel on my nails she stuck her own finger nail under the polish and would rip the polish off. Multiple times I told her that she was hurting me and she insisted that she wasn't. Finally when she got to my thumb she ripped off my actual nail and I started to bleed. It was very painful but she get doing it until my nail was off. She then proceeded to use the tools that had blood on them. When I told her that it hurt, she took the tool and pressed on the cut and told me that it did not hurt me. She was extremely rude and I would not recommend. I then came back here because I thought I'd give this place another chance, I got Lynda again. I got dip nails and she kept telling me to pick a different color. She then cut way to deep on my cuticles causing me to bleed. I also told her to keep my nails long and she cut them extremely short. I am now here 4 days later because my dip was almost completely off. Horrible service and no respect for the customers. read more

I feel discriminated against. I called to make an appointment for myself, a friend and my daughters. The person who answered asked me to come a bit later for an appointment and I agreed. When we showed up, the salon had three employees and three clients (not busy at all). We were barely greeted and when we were it was as if we had not made an appointment at all. Almost ignored and when we were spoke to, we were told the appointments for the two adults were fine but not for the girls. They argued in another language for several minutes until we just decided to leave. The good news is I have amazing daughters and an even better friend. And we drove up to the stop and shop plaza to Star Nails ***** (5stars). They greeted us, took all of us with a smile and did a great and quick job. She's new to the industry, however she is the SWEETEST person I have had the pleasure of talking to, and she did a great job, especially considering she's only been painting nails professionally for about a month now. We had made an appointment for 9:30am for 2pedi and 1 mani-pedi. Everyone we spoke to was very kind, nail polish organized by color, soft relaxing music playing. The salon is clean, chairs are very plush comfortable arm chairs not massage chairs. The pedicures were very thorough, our comfort and happiness was always on their minds. Also in our party we do not have the nicest toes around but the women did a great job working with them. Very happy with our experience, I can see why they are so busy in the afternoon. Literally watched them bring tools from another pedi and start using them on me after dabbing them on a swab. GROSS. She then smudged adult daughter's nail and had to do it over but blamed and scolded my daughter to "not move". When I casually walked over after witnessing this, Linda tried to tell me to go sit down. Another customer looked at us in disbelief. The nerve. Then Linda asked my daughter if she could shape her eyebrows. My daughter said no thank you and Linda proceeded to critique her eyebrows. Terrible. Let me start by saying that Katie is amazing. Her gel manicures stay on for weeks and never peel. Unfortunately, I will not be going back as the management is beyond unprofessional. A few minor things have happened which I was willing to overlook but, the last time I had a manicure the owner had a full on argument over my head with a member of the staff. So much for a relaxing experience. I decided today to give it another shot. I called at 9:40 and asked for an appointment. I was told to come in a 10am. I showed up 20 minutes later and a rude woman doing someone else's nails looked at me like I head 10 heads when I mentioned that I was there for my appointment. This is by far the best nail salon!! Took my daughter for her 10th birthday to have her first manicure. We walked in with out an appt on a Tuesday afternoon and was able to sit right down. Not only did they paint her nails, they painted special daisy flowers on a few nails and added sparkle polish. Very impressive! When she was all finished and under the dryer they immediately brought over a Capri sun for her to drink. It was an amazing first experience!! We we definitely be going back!! read more

My favorite nail salon of all time! Their work is PERFECT, so services can take a little longer than expected. My gel manicure appointments take up 45 minutes to an hour, but include a neck and shoulder massage. Luxy has some very sweet staff who clearly take pride in their work. Worst service from ROSE with a diamond stud in her nose and a bad attitude. First time I used her was a couple weeks ago for a gel mani. Service was ok, but, all ten nails had lifted in 9 days so I returned to have them removed since I had gels for about 3 months AND I had to get a pedicure. I arrived on time , picked a color, and then waited 15 minutes while ROSE was on a phone call. When she got done with her call, she looked at my nails and wrapped them in acetone while I was in a manicure chair. Then, she had me go to the pedi chair and climb in and get situated with the foil wraps falling all over the place. Then she threw a pillow in my lap and got back on the phone for another 15 minutes. When she finally started the pedicure I just had to sit there because I couldn't even read a magazine with the foil wraps. She made me keep the wraps on for 45 minutes, then scraped the polish off with a metal tool, then buffed my nails so hard, they still hurt and are red. If you ladies have had this service before, the tech usually removes the gels while you are in pedi chair so your nails aren't wrapped in chemicals for too long. Pedicure was just as bad as she was very rough with grater on soles of feet. I had to pull my foot away because she was too rough, but, her comment was something about my dancing feet instead of apologizing. Anyway, this nonsense took one hour and forty five minutes on a Tuesday night with no one else in the salon. I will never visit this salon again and even though the salon seems to have a loyal following, ROSE should be avoided. By the way, the owner or manager was there, but, she was too interested in her own phone to manage the salon, or, help me. read more

Not very attentive to what they are doing. I had an acrylic fill last week and the girl kept nicking skin with the dremel because she was hurrying and not focused on what she was doing, causing my fingers to bleed for two days. My nails look like crap a week later, using the dremel tool caused ridges and cracks in the acrylic and it looks as if I don't care for my nails. I won't ever be back again. It's too bad, I was looking for my steady nail place but I'll have to keep looking. read more

One of my favorite nail salons in the area. I feel the staff is friendly and accommodating and when I get the gel manicure it last longer than it has at other salons. We hosted our annual realtor event here and Valentine's day and it was a blast. The salon was well decorate for the holiday. Everyone in the salon was very friendly and welcoming. Waters, sodas are complementary but we brought our own drinks. We all got pedicure. The chairs are super comfortable with pillows for your back and laps. The pedicure came with hot wraps, scented foot bath of your choice, sugar rub, legs message, foot rub, hot stone massage, and of course the polish. Since it's winter and we all wore closed toe shoes, the owner made sure to apply cuticle oil on our toes and plastic wrap them to protect the polish before letting us go. a shout out to my nail technician, Wendy, she did an amazing job! read more

I typically don't write reviews but I wanted to give an honest review of my experience. I have been going here for quite some time on and off but unfortunately did not have a good experience last week. I made appointments to have myself and my bridal party get their nails done. I had confirmed the appointments twice as there were some changes but the last time I confirmed they told me everything was all set. They had told me that I should come in early to get my full set as they only had one nail tech who could do acrylics. That was not a problem so I made my appointment an hour earlier than everyone else's. Right when I got there they took me for my pedicure even when I told them I was there for my full set because there were two more full set appointments coming in. Again no problem, I was there an hour early so surely they could still take me early. It was not until almost an hour after I got there and when my bridal party started arriving that they started my full set, and at that point it was too late to do three full sets due to it being late and us needing to go to our rehearsal dinner so one of my bridesmaids couldn't even get what she wanted. When I explained my frustration I was told that I needed to be flexible and understand that there were walk-ins. What was frustrating was that they took a walk in right before I was scheduled for my appointment which is why they did my pedicure first and it threw everything off. I totally understand accepting walk-ins but if you know you have a large party coming in for appointments shouldn't that be honored since it's been scheduled? Very disappointing and to top it off my acrylic nails have not even lasted me a week and they are already lifting off. Lesson learned on my end to make appointments with a salon that honors appointments over walk-ins. read more

The facility is super nice / clean, all the employees are very sweet and they have the most comfortable pedicure chairs ever.
