I can't believe it's taken me so long to review The Hair Session! After moving to Orange County, I had a terrible time finding someone who could manage my hair properly and with care. Make a long story short I am SO happy I decided to let Andrea do my hair . I let her silk press my hair for the first time in over three years (I normally wear weave). If zero stars was an option that would be my rating. So after searching for specific services for my nine year old daughters untamable hair, I decided to try "Hair in Session". It started off with a call to make an appointment for a consult, no answer so I decided to text (I figured she was with a client, understandable.) Consult happens via text and a short phone convo. Great! I like what I hear, let's do this ASAP. She advised me she doesn't do Saturdays, can you come today at 5p. Yes, great see you then. Get a text a few hours later to come at 3:30p. I ask for the address and realize it's 50 min drive to the salon. I inform her GPS states I'll be there closer to 4p. No response! We arrive in the parking lot and get a text. I can not accommodate 4p. I immediately call her and say "we're already here, should I bother even coming in?" She states "NO IM LEAVING" I think WOW, no way what horrible service, 1st impression SMH. For those of us in the service industry, we know that we accommodate as much as possible a first time customer and definitely NEVER lash out at your clients. Copy and Paste part of her text to me, "It off I did u a huge favor by being honest and telling I to not relax your baby girls hair...u can yelp whatever you feel Is appropriate but you don't dictate my business my clients know how wonderful and amazing I am that's why you saw those reviews. So before you just go off on me you should really try being kind as I was going to allow u to come in...but I don't have to" (well someone's on a night horse)... my reply to her "Exactly why I chose you over all other reviews I read and foremost over my own stylist and salon. But NOT a great 1st impression and those matter most. If you couldn't accommodate a busy Friday you should have been upfront from the beginning. Learn to manage your time and business. Thanks anyways I'll take my business where it's welcome and appreciated." So bottom line, she may be great at hair but if you want the SERVICE to go along the HIGH prices we pay for hair now days ladies, THINK twice before booking with "Hair in Session" take your money where it's appreciated and welcome. On July 7th I texted to book an appointment for pressing n curl. It was scheduled for July 19th. I text back the next day July 8th to see if we could change it to the 18th instead. She told me she would have to confirm because she may have a lab. I thought okay. A couple of days passed I never heard from her. So I text her and no response. I called and left a voicemail...no response. I text again a week later no response. I'm starting to get concerned now because my appointment is either on the 18th or the 19th and here it is the 14th and I'm getting no response. Then on the 16th I leave a final voicemail message, again no response. I've now decided to make other plans because I wasn't even sure if the 19th was going to be kept. Then out of the blue at 3:30pm on the "18th" I get a text from Andrea to confirm our appointment on the "18th" then seconds later I get another text stating "I mean the 19th" (so I'm supposing it would have to be the 19th since it was already the 18th and obviously not an option to consider an appointment. It also proved to me that she did see my previous text). At this point I am in SHOCK of such disrespectful customer service. I'm literally thinking that I may be dealing with someone with a personality disorder. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I text her back and said "since there were no replies to my phone calls voicemails and text messages since July 7th, I made other plans" It was my hope that she would reply and tell me something like her phone was off or she was sick or that there was some kind of tragic event that presented her from following up with me. At the very least an apology. However in the back of my mind I had decided If I did not get a reply then most certainly I will never return to her or refer anyone that I know (which is why I am leaving this review). It is beyond me that anyone can become so confident in themselves that they feel they have a right to abuse innocent people in such a way. I am reminded "pride comes before destruction and a halted spirit before a fall"This is definitely the seeds that this young lady is planting. I hope she wakes up before it's too late! So I said all this simply to say book your appointment and accept her services, AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more

I used Yelp to find Drea and after our first interaction, my qualms were set at ease. We emailed back and forth in the week leading up to my appointment and addressed any concerns that I had. She even stayed on the phone with me while I was in the beauty supply store trying to navigate the overwhelming hair selections.
