I've been here twice and both times what I've appreciated most is the efficiency of the experience. I show the stylist a picture of what I'm looking for, my hair is washed thoroughly, and then there's about 30 minutes of styling. All in all, I'm usually done in 45 minutes or less and my hair looks gorgeous. The cost of the blowout is $60 (plus tip) so it's a little luxury but it's not too wild (and still wayyy cheaper than DryBar). Will be making this my go to spot for those special occasion blowouts!

It was hard trying to maintain conversations with her, and I just felt judged the entire time. I couldn't help but notice her unwelcome facial expressions when I glanced in the mirror, as well as her condescending tone. Here's one of the main moments that stuck out to me: while drying my hair, she rudely said "ummm did you paint or something?" I said no... after the long silence I asked why she would ask. She said "well it's like. White. You don't have lice but it looks like dried paint. It's probably because your scalp is so dry." Okay... thanks? After I asked her to try to take whatever it was out of my hair she ignored me and roughly brushed my hair. I can list so many other rude moments that happened within the hour that I was there. I tried not to let this experience affect my mood for MY ENGAGEMENT. My hair was NOT the same as the reference photos, not even close. It was literally just curled and not blown out or styled the way I wanted. I tried to have her brush and fix my hair after she said it was done. I was so over it and didn't want to cause a scene. I paid and left. Which by the way- my hair was flat by the time my engagement happened. My appointment was around 1:30 and my engagement was at 5. Completely flat. Thanks for nothing. I had really high hopes because of the happy and positive reviews Laura had. Disappointed to say the least. Won't come back again. Don't book unless you want the session to be silent, underwhelming, and definitely treated wrongfully.

He usually visits this place a couple times a year for old clients even random new clients booking when you can check out his page and he will let you know when he is in town. by the place is super cool early 90s hip kind of spot like the Lab used to be.

The price quote was higher than I expected. But even with her offering to charge less with the no bleach method. I ended up doing the full grey coverage, bleach, silver tone balayage. Warning it's not a bougie salon, and the chair is not comfortable to sit in for over 5 hours. It was my first time seeing her and I wanted to see what the results were. The bleach or grey coverage does sting a bit but Kim stepped out for lost of the time the color was developing. She's very nice and considerate and did a good job not staining my skin. She spent a lot of time explaining aftercare. Freshly made up hair in the salon looks nice and I was happy with the cut. Once I got home, I was impressed at how healthy my hair felt after the bleach. But I did notice the cut is a little more shaggy. Maybe because it was cut after it was blow dried. It's been almost 2 weeks and the silver tone has washed out a bit. The coloring still looks nice and I'll use some purple shampoo and conditioner like she suggested. I feel like I might have paid more than I should have, or maybe I just expected more.

I found Andrea by accident as I drove past her salon and decided to go in and check it out. I was super excited to see an African American stylist in my own neighborhood and decided to give her a try. She clearly takes pride in her salon and has taken great effort to make it a relaxing environment. She is ALWAYS punctual with her appointments, extremely professional, and uses high end products and state of the art styling tools such as Dyson hairdryers and hydration hair steamers. She also mixes her own products and uses organic ingredients depending on the needs of your hair. She takes great pride in her work, and you will likely not find a more professional hair stylist anywhere and particularly one who values your time as much as her own! read more

I have been going to Hair Session for over 15 years. Andrea is very professional. She is very much into hair health and not just styles. She will evaluate your hair to determine the best hair care required. I get a full weave and suffer from alopecia. I am very self-conscience about it.
