Not sure what has happened to this restaurant but it saddens me to only give 2 stars. What used to be a great Nana's Special, is now not good at all. The red chili was terrible. The chili itself was not good and they use small chunks of pork, not beef and not much of it. The green chili lacked flavor. This used to be a very good dish. The prices have gone up above what it should be for the quality of the food and the prices are too high as well. The service is still though. Service was very good. Unfortunately, food was the worst Mexican food I have had. My husband order the cheese enchilada, the sauce look & taste like if it was from a can. The beans, can beans. I order chicken soup, not good at all. Tasteless. No flavor whatsoever. Also order the green beef burrito .. horrible presentation, the beef cubes hard my aunt had a hard time chewing it. Unfortunately our server showed up at our table carrying a glass of MY water tucked between her arm and her armpit. It was over after that and I did not eat my meal. I never got a chance to mention this to her as she never came back. She slammed our food to us and NEVER came back to ask how it was or if we needed anything. We had to get her attention to give us the bill. My red chilli fry bread was missing the meat, lol. And they fry bread was skinnier than any pancake I ever made. Our first time here. We were welcomed by one of the owners and sat right away. Everybody was pretty friendly. Wife had the fry bread and I had the pork burrito with green sauce. The plates were pretty nice size and food was very authentic. My wife is Native American and she gave the fry bread a thumbs up. read more

Driving through Wickenburg and saw this place. Very pleasant experience! Good service and good food. GB taco, cheese enchilada and tostada w/ rice and beans. Taco very good, tostada average but good and enchilada was great. I loved the sauce! Shredded beef enchilada good as well. Not crazy about the rice or beans. Kind of flavorless. Very friendly! The food was delicious- I had the shredded beef chimichanga with rice and beans. The beans were some of the best beans I have ever tasted. I don't usually leave reviews but my experience was so bad I had to make an account to share it! The food was greasy and lukewarm when we got it. Our server was inattentive but had a good attitude. The management however... HORRIBLE! We could hear her rudeness towards customers over our three children playing at the table and the conversations from the other tables. One of the businesses that stood up for it's rights, Lydia's has some excellent Mexican food! It's got a very wide menu from tacos, burritos and great breakfast items that are available all day. Plenty of seating and seems like a local favorite We drove out to support them for opening up and it seemed like the reviews are good, so we were excited to try it out. When I go to a restaurant for the first time,I tend to want to try alot of the menu items and not just stick to one thing. Come to find out the lunch specials are all day and give you great value. I ended up getting the bean and cheese burrito, cheese enchilada and taco lunch plate. Plenty of food to try out and all of it is delicious! I got some LA Mexican vibes from the dishes like I felt like the taco was like Tito's in LA and the green enchilada sauce tastes like some other sauces I've had in the south bay in LA. The burrito has some tasty beans that I easily can enjoy. One top of that, the salsa and chips were really good. Plenty of food to try here and really I was surprised on how good it was. So far my reviews are mixed but not great. I'm sorry! Nice friendly young server. Be asked if I wanted chips and salsa BEFORE I sat. They didn't say they charge for them! Not cool. I would have paid but tell people! I ordered the chumicunga combo. The beans taste right out of a can. Rice was very dry. The chumi was tasty and looked good but nothing to assist the meal overcome the dryness. No Margherita! They don't have a bar! Shocking. If I could provide a zero rating I would. . My family waited the first 20 min just to get our drinks . After being seated for over an hour and not being served , we asked Lydia the owner to check on our order. After waiting another 10 min , she refused to check on our order or provide us with any update on our meal . After promising she would . Also two other tables who sat down after us and ordered after us got there food before us. When I asked our waiter why this happened he said he didn't know what order the tickets were getting completed.. This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I would never go back there again . A very nice place to eat at, Top quality food and very polite staff. I eat there often, Never had any issues with food quality or the size of portions. Also chips and salsa included with every meal. What a disappointment - first visit during covid ended with a disasterously soggy tostado and inedible taco. Went ahead and tried again a couple months later, gotta give leeway for pandemic and all, specifically requested separate wrapping to avoid the problem and was told I'd be charged a la carte and they didn't have foil big enough to wrap the tostado. This was by far the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the chicken flautas, and received plain shredded chicken inside a fried tortilla. There was absolutely no taste to it, like they didn't season it at all. The rice tasted like plain white rice with some peppers added to it. WOW!! We were driving thru Wickenberg on Sunday and looking for any place Open and had service dog accommodations . Lydias was the only spot that fit the bill. But what a great surprise! From the moment we walked in the staff was welcoming and wonderful. Service was fast! Food was excellent. Iced tea was clear, crisp and obviously from very clean containers! We always taste huevos rancheros and tamales at Mexican restaurants. Hands down in forty years...the best huevos ever! Tamales were fresh and delicious. Starting with the food, we ordered machaca dinner and it fell so short on our expectations. The meat was tender I'll give them that but, it was flavorless. We ordered the chicken soup as well, this to had no flavor and it was cold. Even though our order was to go I am literally 3 minutes away so can't blame the drive! The tamale was so dry and not good. I was so truly disappointed as knowing that Guero's next door is ran by the same people and everything I have had there for lunch was so delicious. Don't understand what they are doing differently ‍. I enjoy the "home-style" cuisine at Lydia's. Her dishes are always extra cheesy, with tasty cheese melted into the rice and topping the refried beans. The staff treats you like family (I think many of them actually are her family). Almost always, the kitchen is way faster than I expect, and drinks are refilled promptly. I'm particular fond of Lydia's chicken enchilada combination plates; I also find her machaca extra flavorful. Great food, hot sauce, and the service!! We went at 1:30 on a Wednesday so it was not busy at all. Met with Lydia. What an amazing lady! Great Christian music and decor. Worship while you eat! I always make sure to take a quart of the hot sauce home with me whenever we eat at any La Canasta. But the Wickenburg location has to be my favorite.
