This was my first yoga experience ever, and I'm in love with yoga!! I'm a beginner and work nights, late so disappointed all the beginner classes are at night. I wish they had a couple during the day.. . They have an 8am lynegar class which I loved but was just too early five hours asleep was not enough for me.. I wrote in the suggestion box.. If they could a couple lynegar or beginner mid day and a lot of my industry friends agreed we.. I heard no reply.. I happened to stumble in on a kundalini meditation class with Seda Adust. She is hands down the best teacher and the best class so far I have experienced there and the only time slot that fit my schedule. She is amazing she had me smiling laughing and crying the class is amazing for stress, meditation and healing. I would like to try the other classes so I hope they fix that.. LOVED this studio. I went with a friend who was very familiar with it. We were the two youngest people there (it was in the middle of a weekday), but the classes were still fairly crowded. The teachers were AMAZING. I've been to several yoga studios and none had the calm, peaceful feeling like this one. I left there feeling transformed. I would go again in a heartbeat if: 1. it wasn't so expensive, 2. there were earlier classes, 3. if I lived closer. What an amazing place to heal and get well! read more

The yoga studio is very clean and has no mirrors which I prefer. Parking can be difficult but you can go around the corner and park on the residential street and walk down. So far my most favorite yoga teacher is Brenda Chestnut for the Vinyasa class. She exudes an upbeat positive vibe and I felt that she really cares for her students. Brenda helped my friend and I with plenty of alignment tips and also gave us refreshers for basic poses. I really enjoyed her class! read more

I just discovered this studio and I could not be happier. Michael teaches Iyengar yoga which is unusual in Southern California but is my favorite style. Michael creates an amazingly welcome, positive and supportive place to practice. His knowledge of the human body, yoga and his very caring attitude made me instantly trust him. I get a great workout and feel better spiritually from his class. Everything from the welcoming first phone contact, to signing in to the lovely classes and friendly other yogis have been nothing but positive. read more

Friendly staff, clean, comfortable studio. I was truly inspired my first couple classes and excited to go back. I am a beginner and have not been to many other studios but I had such a nice experience I don't feel I need to try any others. LOVE my LYFE ! This studio is the real deal. Teachers are very knowledgable and bring yoga philosophy to your asana practice. I regularly go to Christopher and Lisa's classes and always feel wonderful when I leave. This place rocks!! I have been taking Yoga on and off for several years and never really understood the basics or fundamental aspect of it all. LYFE Yoga Center put me on the right track!! With each pose I am learning how to correctly align my body by engaging with the mind and spirit. After 5 years of bikram yoga, I needed a change and came here on a friend's recommendation. They have an unlimited 2 week pass that's a great deal. Before i knew it, was i was coming everyday and am now paying for an unlimited monthly membership. the instructors each have their own style and the schedule has enough variety so there's something for everyone if you try it all out. The studio owner, Michael, knows his students by name and you'll find him unpacking toilet paper or joking with his regulars-none of that frou frou crap found in a lot of LA yoga studios. In one month at Lyfe, i've accomplished things i never thought i could do even after 5 years of a devoted bikram practice. read more

Bought a groupon deal for the 20 class pass which expires in 6 months after activation. I went to 1 prenatal class in August. It was okay, but I've been so sick with the pregnancy and also put in bed rest. My delivery date is jan 3, and I have to wait 6 weeks to be able to do yoga again. So I called and e mailed them multiple times, every month to maybe extend the expiration date of my groupon, even 1 month will be helpful since I've only used it one time. I have 19 classes left. I never got an email reply and every time I call them, they said they will call me back but never did so I just gave up contacting them after a while. I told them the situation and no one cared. I would never go back to this place and will encourage my neighbors to not go there either. read more

This beautiful, clean, amazing studio has that magical yoga feeling that one hopes for and doesn't always find. The teachers here are truly inspiring and very knowledgeable. The place really has a neighborhoody, family feeling. And the ocean view is a definite plus. This is the only Iyengar in Hermosa Beach, and Michael is a brilliant teacher. It's is also the only Kundalini in Hermosa Beach, and classes with Valinda and Seda are pure joy. Seda Aksut's wonderful classes combine kriyas with energy work (she's also a Reiki master) which I love. read more

I have only taken a couple yoga classes before, so I took Yoga for Beginners after buying a Groupon for five classes. I have been to three classes so far, and I really enjoyed it. The studio was very clean, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the instructor was very nice and attentive to correcting all of the students' poses. My only critique is that I wish they had more classes~ read more

Wonderful facility. Clean, great size, ocean view! I am training for a marathon and have been having issues with my IT band leading to hip and knee pain. I started going to Christopher's Restorative classes and have been thrilled with the positive results. Christopher is an amazing instructor. At the beginning of each class he asks students if anyone is having any issues and then chooses poses according to everyone's ailments. SOOO awesome! He is knowledgeable and very gentle when assisting students with proper form. Highly recommend this great studio. Only issue is parking is quite challenging. The Vans store hogs most of the spaces in the parking lot so give yourself a little extra time in case there are no onsite spaces left. But completely worth it! read more

michael is a great iyengar yoga teacher. really this is the only place i would go for yoga in south bay.

I've been practicing here since the studio opened and I have to say it is one of the best yoga studios in the south bay of Los Angeles. I have practiced yoga for over 25 years all around the world and I have to say I feel so blessed to have this studio right here in my own backyard. I have studied many different styles over the years, but for some reason I keep gravitating back to Kundalini which was my first experience, there is something about the spiritual content of this style that just seems to fit for me. Valinda teaches an amazing, grounded, thoughtful, tough but not too tough, spiritual, challenging, Kundalini class that I highly recommend. And if you're into Iyengar, the owner Michael is the man! Also, i very much appreciate the effort that went into making this a non toxic studio and sustainable to boot as far as building materials were concerned.
