Called Lynch and Sons to see if they can inspect my underground pool heater for repair. Messed up scheduling the first visit, after committing a time, rescheduled, and still came at the wrong time and day. The receptionist did not seem to know what she was doing. Was very confusing to understand, and unable to make an accurate scheduled appointment. The one thing I will give her credit for was a $75 fee she explained very clearly....hmmmm, that Lynch and Sons charge just to look at your issue. She stated that this fee would be carried over to the job, if you choose to do so. Wow, they made $$ off me without doing a thing. Only pool company I've ever dealt with that does this. It's a scam!!! She also had sent me prices of new heaters via e-mail......even before the heater was technically looked at by a technician. It seems as if there whole objective was to charge me thousands for a new heater without an actual diagnosis. So.......The first guy looks it over, who was not the tech, very nice guy, just not an actual tech.....and stated he wasn't....."OK"??? Takes video of the heater and says that he will forward to the actual tech......ummm, OK? Next, another guy comes two days later, the technician, This technician wasn't even in my backyard for 10 minutes, and tells me that more than likely I need a whole new heater, or a repair option that would cost more than a new heater ......."WTF"!!!! Minutes later, I'm quoted by e-mail from their receptionist prices for new heaters again.....Really!!! Shortly finding out they quoted me a wrong price, wrong heater for my pool, and calling them on it ......there mistake!!!! The owner responded e-mail (after I asked the receptionist for them to call me), tells me they made a mistake in pricing, and wanted to charge me hundreds more because of their mistake. I understand we make mistakes, it is a human thing to do. However, you should honor the original quote you made, or at least meet half way. There solution was a few weeks of free pool cleaning service......Really!!! I will never use these guys again, nor recommend them to anyone. They are crooks!!!!! Decided to get a second opinion.......found it was only the sensor that needed replaced. The heater was still good. Saved over $2000.00! Shame on you Lynch and Sons!!!! Two months later........Pool/Spa heater is still working awesome!!!!! So glad I got a second opinion and saved thousands of Dollars LYNCH AND SONS!!!!!!! Something I wanted to tell you. When you corrected me on my time frame of 10 minutes (informing me that the technician was in my backyard for almost an hour) your technician stating I needed a whole new heater or higher price repair over a new heater.........it was only 5 minutes he was in my backyard. Your technician may have stayed longer after he stated to me I needed either a new heater or very expensive repair. However, this was stated before he looked at the heater. read more

Disappointed! Things started off great when I hired Lynch and Sons to service my pool. It was sparkling all summer. I hired them for a weekly full service which includes 9 steps. 1) Skim water surface to remove floating matter 2) Vacuum dirt and leaves in pool 3) Brush pool floor walls, floor and steps 4) Brush tile inside pool 5) Clean skimmer baskets for pool 6) Clean pump basket for pool 7) Maintain proper pool chemistry 8) Treat water with the necessary chemicals 9) Inspect pool equipment This past month there has been excessive dirt on the steps walls and bottom of the pool. They have skipped the steps 2 & 3. When I sent them pictures of the substandard condition of my pool I was completely shocked by the response. Instead of an apology I received a call from the son stating, "Yes we skipped the steps and that it takes too long to do all the steps promised in the agreement. We have other pool's to tend to." For them to fulfill the promise it would cost me an additional $60 per. month for the additional time. Nothing in the agreement states how much time it takes to complete the 9 steps. He also said I need to buy an expensive pool sweeper. That's what I hired them for! They are my expensive pool sweeper! We have all the tools required: A brush, vacuum and skimmer. It's a shame to see a good service go bad on us. Needless to say I'm looking for a new pool service. read more

As with a lot of people in this modern world, when I auto pay someone successfully for over a year I don't read the monthly statement and for the sake of the environment will turn off statements if offered the chance. A simple phone call from your staff would have represented the high quality service I was paying 25% more for. Even a email at month 1 advising there was a problem would have been better than a notification of suspended service to a long term customer when you could clearly see the card number was wrong. As for the $100 policy, legally if I don't tell a business they have the right to charge me more for additional services without consultation then they don't have that right just just because they mail an unacknowledged agreement. If you don't have a signed agreement there is no contract and you have no right to provide a repair without consultation. As I've told you, when I pay 25% more for a monthly service I don't expect to be gouged by paying $145 for $58 worth of parts. If the price has been a reasonable 30% markup we wouldn't be having this conversation but over 150% is ridiculous. read more

I had kind of a rush situation and called Lynch because they appeared to have pretty good reviews. They charge me $75 to send a tech out to look at my pool because it was a little bit green. He told me that if what he did did not work someone would be out the following day to make it right. Next day the pool was still green and no one showed. I called 3 times and did not get a reply. That was on a Thursday and Friday. I called back on Tuesday because they still had not returned my call. . Basically I spent $75 to prolong the greening of my pool. They did refund my money because they said they would not be able to honor their commitment to cleaning it. That doesn't make up for the fact of my pool is now very green and it will cost more to have it fixed. All they had to do was not take my money when they knew they couldn't do the job. Then they should have atleast called me or returned my call. read more

In 2016 I wrote a great review for Lynch & Sons, but sadly they have gone downhill since the change in ownership. I will say the pool cleaning has always been great with one exception, the techs don't always check to see if the sweep is working before they leave (they say they do, but I've been there several times when I've seen them walk out without checking to see if it's working. I also had a time when it was broken and they said it ran when it couldn't have). Other than that they do come on the same day, always show up, and always leave the pool clean (though some of the guys don't clean the attached spa). Erin Lynch is very nice and has done everything she could to help me. I've been trying since December 2015 to work with them thinking that once the new owners got settled things would get better, but they've gotten worse. Some examples: 1) I asked them to come repair pool lights that had stopped working. They charged me $62.50 to tell me they weren't wired correctly and turn off the breaker. They didn't follow up with a quote to fix them and didn't respond when I complained they had charged me to basically do nothing. 2) My pool sweep didn't work for 4 months last spring. I talked to them repeatedly, they kept saying they fixed it when they didn't. I finally took it to Leslie Pool Supply and they fixed it on the first try. Lynch & Sons did credit me one month of cleaning but that didn't make up for 4 months of them not solving the problem. 3) The tech turnover has been insane. I can't even tell you how many techs I've had in the past year. 4) Last week I left a note for the tech I'd had the last few weeks to tell him I agreed with him that the filer needed to be cleaned again after a 3-week battle with yellow algae. We both agreed that's why the sweep had stopped working this time. A new tech came (the other one quit) and left me a phone message that the problem was that the system had been turned off all week. I talked to him and told him that it had been running all week, I had checked it every day, but that I must have left it turned off the night before when I was working on the sweep. He refused to believe me and kept telling me that no, the system hadn't been running. He was rude and condescending. I'm sorry to have to change service and hopeful they'll work out their issues. read more

Emailed and got an appointment at a reasonable time for summer. We inquired about a warranty for a pump we had ordered. They didn't specify anything other then they will come out. They came out said they would get back to us about an electrician that could help us solve our problem. We never heard back. A week later we received an 100$ bill for absolutely nothing. We hired Lynch and Sons several months ago and are more than disappointed. First of all they never kept to a continual schedule. We would unlock the gate for the day they told us they were coming only to find out they made it another day. The worst part of their servicing our exercise spa is they had no idea of what they were doing. They ended up destroying our filter system by adding granules directly to the skimmer basket which clogged the filters and shut the water flow which shut down everything in the pool which made EVERYTHING stop working. We have paid for repair service, brand new filters and we no longer want them anywhere near our spa. This is the poorest service we have ever experienced. I recommend that people look elsewhere for services. read more

Since then, Roger comes like clockwork every Thursday. He completes a list of routine maintenance items without fail. He recommends any repairs we might need to avoid problems. They have consistently raised their rates each year I have had them with no improvement in service or justification for increase. I seem to have a different tech each time and they put LOTS of chlorine tabs in my pool,and it is a salt water pool ! And their responses to the Yelp reviews are unprofessional. read more

I have had Lynch Pool Service for several years whenever I am out of town for several months at a time, usually winter months. They have always done a great job!
