SAFETY IS NOT A CONCERN TO THE MANAGEMENT OR STAFF:…read more The staff has no level of care when it comes to handling customers. From the beginning of the purchase process of my vehicle from North Shore I was treated with disrespect. Jason was incredibly kind, but not able to help without assistance from a manager. Boris was rude time and time again. I ended up purchasing because there was a vehicle I was interested in, so much so I was able to overlook the incompetent and rude salesmen. My mistake! After purchase and delivery (a day later than promised) I have had to bring the car into the manufacturer 3 times. The car left the North Shore Auto Mall after "being inspected by their mechanics" and was deemed by them as safe on the road. I brought the car to the manufacturer and it did not pass a safety inspection. NORTH SHORE AUTO MALL LACKS KNOWLEDGE AND IS NEGLIGENT! Never would I have expected the car to be unsafe to drive after being assured from the manager, Kevin, the dealership's mechanics had looked over it. To think I have been driving an unsafe vehicle for months is beyond concerning. I scheduled an appointment to have the vehicle inspected by the manufacturer, but due to their schedule was not able to get the car in until today. North Shore's mechanics suggested there might have been some issues with the front suspension after they had inspected the vehicle. They did not feel it necessary to address these issues before release of the vehicle, and suggested I follow up with the manufacturer after I picked up the vehicle. Perhaps if they had brought the car to the manufacturer to see that there was no issues before they sold the vehicle this all would have been avoided. Turns out the issues are in the rear end. Seems like a major detail to have confused. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, as safety is not something that is a concern to them. I should have listened to the previous reviews, but decided not to. Please do not make the same mistake I did when it comes to such a major decision, purchasing a vehicle from North Shore Auto Mall

The atmosphere feels like it comes from good management everyone seems genuinely happy to help. My routine service was free, the alignment was an unexpected cost, but had it done because i did not want the expense of tires in the near future, and the cost of the wipers was better than I expected. The best part of the entire visit was the complimentary ride home when I dropped off my car. I wasn't expecting that at all and thought I'd have to order an Uber, but they took care of it. The driver was extremely friendly and made the experience even better. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and the people. Atlantic Toyota earned an A+ from me.

Deceptive Pricing, 93A Demand Issued, and Severe TILA Disclosure Violations…read more Do not trust a single agreement you sign with this dealership. I have already issued a formal M.G.L. c. 93A Consumer Protection Demand Letter to the General Manager due to the egregious, unfair, and deceptive business practices my family faced here. Unlawful Bait-and-Switch on Pricing: Weeks in advance, a manager and I signed a finalized agreement locking in a specific VIN for a 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid at a base price of $51,208 (net price of $48,208 after a $3,000 discount). On delivery day, the dealership refused to honor this legally binding agreement. They unilaterally manipulated the math to force a new contract with a base price of $55,941. Even masked with a larger discount, the true net price was intentionally inflated by $2,233 for features I explicitly rejected. Intentional Coercion & Duress of a Family: They completely weaponized the situation against me. They knew I had already cleared out my trade-in vehicle and removed my toddlers' car seats to take the new car home. When I protested the price hike, they shrugged and threatened to make me wait months for another car. To make matters worse, they forced me--while pregnant and accompanied by my two small children--to wait for 3 grueling hours past my scheduled 12:30 PM appointment before letting us see finance. This calculated delay was used to induce severe physical fatigue and duress just to get us to sign. Deceptive Extended Warranty & Financing Tactics: Inside the financing office, they used our sheer exhaustion to deceptively sell me a $3,000 Vehicle Service Agreement, falsely framing it as an "apology deal" to offset the vehicle pricing inflation. In reality, it was heavily marked up (confirmed by 2 quotes elsewhere at less than half the price). They also switched my promised 6.99% interest rate to 7.39% on a 75-month term. Severe TILA & Federal Disclosure Violations (12 CFR § 1026.17(b)): To actively conceal these predatory alterations, the finance team refused to give me my physical paperwork and sent me home without my legally mandated Truth in Lending Act (TILA) disclosure box or Retail Installment Sale Contract. The only paper they let me leave with was a basic dealer invoice that completely omitted the statutory federal APR box and finance charges. Presenting installment financing figures on a non-binding invoice while withholding statutory federal disclosures is a direct violation of federal lending laws. I had to explicitly hound the staff via email late that night just to finally receive my actual contract and see that they had jacked up my interest rate. I have an irrefutable paper trail consisting of both conflicting vehicle contracts, the incomplete dealer invoice, and timestamped digital records of the late-night emailed disclosures. If a full refund of the $2,233 overcharge, a loan restructuring to 6.99%, and a flat cancellation of the $3,000 warranty are not executed within the statutory 30 days, I will be escalating this directly to the Massachusetts Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, the FTC, and Toyota Corporate Compliance. Avoid this dealership at all costs. They rely on deceptive pricing, breaking signed agreements, withholding mandatory legal disclosures, and exploiting families.

Recently bought a new car here and had a good experience; might be an outlier because I came in…read moreknowing exactly which model & trim I wanted, did not do financing or trade-in, and negotiated an OTD (Out The Door) price via email with Brianna, the internet sales rep, before I ever stepped foot on the premises. This is how I have always bought all my cars over the course of several decades, a straightforward process that cuts out all the usual opportunities for sales shenanigans and minimizes the usual PITA of buying a new car...far better than walking in unprepared and letting yourself get screwed every which way (e.g. bait and switch, bogus hidden charges, made-up "accessory packages," etc.), which is exactly what the haggle-based dealership sales model is designed to foster. I chose Kelly Honda because they offered me the best OTD price among the 8 or 10 dealerships within a 100 mile radius of Boston that I contacted on a hard-to-find hybrid model, which most dealers are still selling at or *above* MSRP in this horrible post-pandemic marketplace of low supply and high demand resulting in inflated street prices. (Last time I bought a new car, in 2012, I paid $4K *under* MSRP using the aforementioned purchasing technique.) Amy was an excellent sales rep who finalized the deal, and I'd also recommend her highly. The only reason I deducted one star is because the car in question was NOT available for immediate pickup as had been implied (mainly due to them closing early on Saturdays and being completely closed on Sundays which is very bizarre to me), but that is a small quibble in the bigger picture, really. I mean, you could really do much, much worse. Some of the other dealers' reps I interacted with during my car hunt were slimy a-holes as well as refusing to budge on their pricing, whom I'd trust about as far as I can throw them. Bottom line is that I felt good about my purchase and general experience with Kelly Honda. Now, they give you free oil changes for the first two years which I will happily make use of, but beyond that, I plan to take the car to an independent garage (honest mechanics are not easy to find but they do exist---WAR Auto Tech in Malden is my current favorite) for all SERVICE needs. For all the folks who left 1-2 star reviews due to terrible car SERVICE experiences here, what did you expect? Dealerships are called *stealer-ships* when it comes to car service for a reason, padding the bill and inventing "make-work" is their bread and butter! TAKEAWAYS: 1. Figure out exactly what model/trim you want, don't ask a dealer to help you because of course they'll upsell you as much as they can and/or steer you towards whatever models that give THEM the fattest margins. 2. Negotiate an OTD price before you step foot on the premises. 3. Test drive the car before you finalize. 4. Skip trade-ins and financing. 5. Get all post-sale service done at an independent shop.

When I contacted the service advisor, Stephanie, she told me that the dealership had no proof that the dash camera was in the vehicle when I dropped it off. In response, I sent her video footage clearly showing that the dash camera was installed in my car when I brought it to the dealership. After receiving the video in May of this year, Stephanie told me that she had forwarded the matter to the service manager. Since then, I have not received a single phone call or email regarding my claim. I have repeatedly tried to contact the dealership, but they rarely answer the phone. On the occasions when someone does answer, I am told that they will speak with the manager and get back to me. However, no one has ever followed up. My dash camera was stolen while my vehicle was in the dealership's care, and despite providing evidence and making multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the dealership has failed to take responsibility or even communicate with me.

What makes it worse is the clear pattern of targeting those who are less likely to question them, particularly women. I was treated like I wouldn't understand or challenge the maintenance quotes -- and that's exactly what they counted on. They've not only DOUBLED their maintenance costs in only the last 2 years but tripled the costs in some cases for their parts as well and I'm disgusted they're not only adjusting for inflation but going for a money grab at whatever means possible. Additionally, the wait times are so ridiculous, they kept my car for maintenance for days without telling me and just given a "sorry we haven't finished" excuse. And beyond the dealership's behavior, I've had more recalls on my Honda Insight than should even be legal. For a car that's supposed to be reliable and efficient, the number of factory defects is alarming. I've had my car shut down on me and had the turn signals completely stop working while driving. Between the recalls and the dealership's manipulative service practices, I've completely lost trust in both the brand and this location. This place does not care about integrity or customers -- only profit. I will never return and strongly warn others especially those who are less mechanically experienced. I will be doing my maintenance business anywhere else from now and regret getting my car here. Please avoid this place that feels like hell and go anywhere else. Save yourself years of bad experience and money wasted!!
