Wow i have an HRV with 16,000 miles that kept stalling. We bring it in to be told it is the transmission. Now they are saying nope not the transmission (which is under warranty) but some valve which is going to cost $1,000. After arguing back and forth we were told to call American Honda who has all the information on file. We called they have no idea what we were talking about and wouldn't help us either. Talk about getting the run around. This is only the beginning for me. Horrible staff who claims to be "helping" but actually just dicking us around. Buyer beware of Honda. Back to Toyotas for us!!!! I had an appointment for an oil change, and showed up ten minutes early. The waiting room had two other people. I saw my car waiting outside from the waiting room, for 10 minutes. That's when I got up and said something at the desk. Two hours later it's ready. If I didn't say something it would've been longer. What would've happened if I didn't make an appointment? 3 hours or more? Then they have a Service Status up date by text. Arrival, Inspection, Service, Final Touches and Ready for pickup. This was pointless, when the job was done; it scrolled through very quickly with the check marks beside the progress marks. There's no time stamp of progress in between. If I could give zero stars, I would. Honda on the Lynnway is dishonest, overpriced, and predatory -- especially toward those who may not have extensive car maintenance knowledge. What makes it worse is the clear pattern of targeting those who are less likely to question them, particularly women. I was treated like I wouldn't understand or challenge the maintenance quotes -- and that's exactly what they counted on. They've not only DOUBLED their maintenance costs in only the last 2 years but tripled the costs in some cases for their parts as well and I'm disgusted they're not only adjusting for inflation but going for a money grab at whatever means possible. Additionally, the wait times are so ridiculous, they kept my car for maintenance for days without telling me and just given a "sorry we haven't finished" excuse. And beyond the dealership's behavior, I've had more recalls on my Honda Insight than should even be legal. For a car that's supposed to be reliable and efficient, the number of factory defects is alarming. I've had my car shut down on me and had the turn signals completely stop working while driving. Between the recalls and the dealership's manipulative service practices, I've completely lost trust in both the brand and this location. This place does not care about integrity or customers -- only profit. I will never return and strongly warn others especially those who are less mechanically experienced. I will be doing my maintenance business anywhere else from now and regret getting my car here. Please avoid this place that feels like hell and go anywhere else. Recently bought a new car here and had a good experience; might be an outlier because I came in knowing exactly which model & trim I wanted, did not do financing or trade-in, and negotiated an OTD (Out The Door) price via email with Brianna, the internet sales rep, before I ever stepped foot on the premises. This is how I have always bought all my cars over the course of several decades, a straightforward process that cuts out all the usual opportunities for sales shenanigans and minimizes the usual PITA of buying a new car...far better than walking in unprepared and letting yourself get screwed every which way (e.g. bait and switch, bogus hidden charges, made-up "accessory packages," etc.), which is exactly what the haggle-based dealership sales model is designed to foster. I chose Kelly Honda because they offered me the best OTD price among the 8 or 10 dealerships within a 100 mile radius of Boston that I contacted on a hard-to-find hybrid model, which most dealers are still selling at or *above* MSRP in this horrible post-pandemic marketplace of low supply and high demand resulting in inflated street prices. (Last time I bought a new car, in 2012, I paid $4K *under* MSRP using the aforementioned purchasing technique.) Amy was an excellent sales rep who finalized the deal, and I'd also recommend her highly. The only reason I deducted one star is because the car in question was NOT available for immediate pickup as had been implied (mainly due to them closing early on Saturdays and being completely closed on Sundays which is very bizarre to me), but that is a small quibble in the bigger picture, really. I mean, you could really do much, much worse. Some of the other dealers' reps I interacted with during my car hunt were slimy a-holes as well as refusing to budge on their pricing, whom I'd trust about as far as I can throw them. Bottom line is that I felt good about my purchase and general experience with Kelly Honda. Now, they give you free oil changes for the first two years which I will happily make use of, but beyond that, I plan to take the car to an independent garage (honest mechanics are not easy to find but they do exist---WAR Auto Tech in Malden is my current favorite) for all SERVICE needs. For all the folks who left 1-2 star reviews due to terrible car SERVICE experiences here, what did you expect? Dealerships are called *stealer-ships* when it comes to car service for a reason, padding the bill and inventing "make-work" is their bread and butter! TAKEAWAYS: 1. Figure out exactly what model/trim you want, don't ask a dealer to help you because of course they'll upsell you as much as they can and/or steer you towards whatever models that give THEM the fattest margins. 2. I had a bizarre experience @Kelly Honda, 540 LYNNWAY (ROUTE 1A) LYNN, MA 01905-3016. I had made an appointment on Wednesday 11, 2021 @1115am to go in and sort out a recall letter I have received on the mail about 2014 Honda I am currently leaving. I also wanted to get an oil change and tire rotation due to a family matter that I had to attend to over the weekend planned weeks ago that required my car. At 345pm, my car was ready. While driving home the steering was really bad. The ailment was not straight and the tire pressure icon came on the dashboard. I immediately called the dealership and spoke to Robert Batista in regards to this matter. He advised to come back to the dealership. I looked on manual and it suggested I put air on the tire. I went to the gas station and to my surprise a donut was place on the back right side of my car. And I found my original tire slashed and place in my trunk. It just went down hill from there. I called several times and I was getting the run around from the service department. Which lead me to renting a vehicle for the weekend. I went back to dealership when I got back and explained to service agent Krystal L Guadrea. She said " I told you over the phone that you had a slashed tire". I notified Supervisor Robert Batista what had happened. He looked at his computer and said " I have notes here that you were told over the phone your tire was slashed. And I can't do anything for you" I asked for a manager and he said to call back. My advice is always make sure to double check your car before and after. Take pictures. Because sometimes mistakes happen and it can be frustrating and costly. I use my car for gig work. It is my livelihood at this moment. read more

Pulled my car in for a 3 o'clock appointment asked the tech where the restroom was sat in the waiting room watch my truck sit there for an hour. Finally, someone comes up to me and says oh you were supposed to see me when you pulled in now mind you this is my first time going here. My wife usually takes care of this. I just replaced the tire last month with my warranty so now I say to the guy so you had me sitting here for an hour before you even recognize I was here then he proceeds to ask me for warranty information which I do not know so I had to Google it because he would not finally he gets on the phone after 20 minutes gets an authorization and begins to tell me I have to pay $45 out-of-pocket which a month ago I did not have to do and I explained that to him he said OK I will ask the manager to waive the fee I said great considering I sat here for an hour waiting before I was even seen. He comes out and tells me he cannot do it so I proceed to yell at him and tell him to give me my truck. I will go to another dealership and get it taken care of horrible service then my wife calls the manager and they say he's not in but yet he was just there two seconds ago so if you go in there, make sure you're not go to the skinny guy with the gray beard and the last computer to the right his customer care skills are horrible still no callback from the manager. NO THEY DO NOT MAKE IT EASY!!! All they want is your money!! My mechanic notified me that I needed new rear breaks but my mechanic was going to be unavailable to do the labor due to travel. When I called Honda in Lynn, they wouldn't give me a quote for labor. Instead they insisted I need a diagnostic test. That test will cost me probably close to $200 plus the cost of break pads parts and labor. I regret buying my car from them. Brought car in for oil change, front and rear wiper blades and a multi point inspection. Could not be worse..... No front blades/inserts....quoted $161.88 to replace? Are they serious? I took the part numbers from quote, they sell for 1/2 at other Honda Dealerships. I get a small markup but 100%, thats just wrong. The quoted to replace cabin filter, what a joke, $75. They clearly did not look at it as it was replaced 2 weeks prior for $15 by me. They failed to recognize leaking tranny fluid, not sure how thats possible. They failed to recognize the front right caliper is frozen as well as the right rear that was sticking. The breaks were not fine, yet they did not find anything wrong with them. I have zero trust in their repair services as this was also not the first time they did an incomplete and poor job. This is a place where you take your chances, just be warned, they will upsell you service, overcharge for parts and recommend services that are not required. I've been a loyal customer of Kelly Honda and after my most recent experience I will not be returning. I brought my car in for an oil change and was then informed I had other services that needed to be reformed (fine by me) all in all, it was around $400. After waiting 2 hours I was then told the battery failed and I needed a new battery (the car showed no signs of battery failure to me, but once again, fine by me. We're now up to nearly $700. When I drive out I felt and heard a rotational clunking sound that started at 20mph and increased in vibration and sound as speed increased. I brought it right back to the dealership, told them about it, and asked if someone could ride along with me to hear/feel the concern. Within a block the technician said "it could be a few different things" and I drove back to the shop. After waiting another 30 minutes I'm then told they know what the problem is. In the initial service they did an oil change, tire rotation, and changing of both air filters. They told me that during the tire rotation, the tie rods were frozen but didn't share that with the service representative. Because of this the service tech (after this information was shared) they told me the issue was 1 of 2 things. 1.) both tie rods need to be replaced - quoted around $450 OR 2.) I needed a new steering rack - would have been several thousand dollars (they said around $4k) I said I wanted a second opinion and asked if the car was safe to drive. The service representative said it was extremely unsafe to drive and was a safety hazard. I brought my car into my local shop (not a Honda dealership) and within 1 hour of looking over the car, they told me it's it was neither the tie rods or the steering rack, but rather a bent wheel. $250 later the noise and vibration are gone. I got the feeling that Honda was playing "guess and check" on my dime as opposed to actually looking into the issue. It's especially frustrating because my wife and I are planning to buy a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid this year and I was planning to buy it from my local Honda Dealer (Kelly). I won't support a dealership that uses (in my opinion) "scare tactics" to get your business. This dealership used to be good, but over the years I've experienced more than one experience of "dropping the ball" from Kelly Honda. Very immature and have no clue what they are even selling. Here is my story with Kelly Honda Lynn. For the last couple months I was looking into purchasing a newer vehicle, I was looking at Honda Passports, Toyota Tacoma's and Jeep Grand Cherokee's. I was looking into leasing for the first time. I first made contact with the internet sales woman at Honda Lynn whom I made an appointment with for 10/7 in the afternoon. When I showed up and asked for her I was told she was not there and was passed off to another sales guy, I spoke to him for a few minutes and he then passed me to another sales guy. I told him what I was interested in which was a Honda Passport and there was a beautiful black on black Passport on the showroom floor. The sales guy asked if I wanted to take one for a test drive and he pulled one from the back lot which I took for about a 15 minute ride and came back. We started discussing numbers where he lowballed they crap out for my trade in and I should have walked away right there. The discussions continued and we agreed on a deal. The sales manager even stuck his head out and said congratulations on the deal. I was not able to complete the paperwork that day as I had to leave for an emergency so I put a deposit down and planned coming back the next day. He ran my debit card and gave me the receipt, as I was walking out I saw him put the SOLD sign on the black on black Passport in the showroom. I drove home and about two hours later I received a call from the sales guy saying he and the manager made a mistake and the SOLD sign he had put on the Passport was a 2021 and there was NO WAY possible they could sell me the 2021 for the price we had agreed on. I checked the receipt and on it says 2021 Passport and had the stock number of the car. I then said that it was not my mistake and I wanted the 2021 Passport for the price we had agreed on as that was what my receipt had on it. He said no way it's not happening and then asked what color of a 2020 I would want because they only had white and red on the lot and I was not interested In either. I reluctantly gave him some colors and asked a few more questions about the 2021. I asked how much more a month it would be and said about $100 more a month. I said there is no way and that they should honor the original deal. He said it would take a few days for him to track down the other colors I suggested. The next day I took a ride to a different Honda and ended up making a deal. I was also able to get a better deal as well. I then texted the sales guy to refund my deposit in which he responded I am not entitled to it and they are keeping it. He then texted and called for the next 24 hours and kept saying he was not refunding the deposit. I had to tell him that I was going to contact the COO of Kelly Honda Lynn and he finally said he would credit but that I needed to come in because it's a liability to do over the phone. I believed this was another lie just to get me in there. I went the next day without telling him I was coming in and he began asking if "I enjoy going around wasting people's time" and I cost him a deal. I said please just run my card so I can leave, he continued to berate me as if it was my fault in front of customers and staff. He finally took my card and disappeared for 20 minutes. He finally comes back and hands me the receipt and continues to talk shit. As I was walking out I turn and ask if he would like to come look at my new Passport that I had purchased from another dealership as I had had enough of him talking down to me. He responded with "I hope you get a flat tire". I get into my vehicle and start to back up, I look in my side mirrors and see him and a couple of his punk buddy sales guys on the sidewalk he says" Watch Out don't get into an accident", I'm not sure if he's going to jump out into my vehicle or what. Lastly, I put the car in drive and he says "Watch out for those nails right there". I have never in my life experienced anything of this nature for a mistake that he and his sales manager made. I read some articles about Kelly and how they say that they "treat people well". The sales staff at Kelly Honda Lynn either needs a tremendous amount of training on how to deal with customers or they should find people who can. So if you want to be bait and switched and treated poorly by all means shop at Kelly Honda Lynnway but they will never see a penny from me. read more

We bought a used car at about $32,000 from this Honda dealership after some negotiations. On the day we came in they were eager to close the deal and offered 2 free oil changes. We accepted then realized that used cars already come with this as part of the package which I thought seemed dishonest as the salesman likely new that. I pointed this out and he said they would add an additional 2 free oil changes making a total of four. Well to receive the first two were no problem the others were an argument each time and my husband gave up on the last because his English isn't good enough to have a complicated discussion. Disheartening because no matter how many managers I spoke with they did not add anything on the account to show they would honor the last two oil changes. Went in for service and with their free 10 pt inspection they noted an issue with power steering. They claimed to have fixed it, but never kept me up to date on the progress even though they knew I needed the car back that day and the work was bigger then they had expected. Due to that, they failed to do the service right, resulting in major issues that made me have to bring the car back. I was promised a loaner for the inconvenience but they failed to deliver on that and they couldn't get my car back again on time! He said on Saturdays it is by appt. only and he already had an appt. for 12:00 so the next one would be for 2:00, which we agreed on. We show up precisely at 2:00, as arranged. Jose shows up ten minutes late, only to say he had to help another customer who had walked in. So we waited another thirty minutes for Jose, who did not show, so we walked. He never called to have someone else help us, to apologize, nothing; how unprofessional. No surprise Kelly Honda gets 2 1/2 star on Yelp. I'm shopping for a car online. I have several models from different makers that I'm considering. I was interested in a CRV, and Kelly's internet salesperson reached out to me. I made it very clear that the purpose of my visit was going to be for test driving only, and that she needs stop relay that to the sales team. When I arrived for my appointment, I was sat with a salesman to chat about what I was looking for ( a small suv with power comparable to that of my current Accord). I'd made arrangements to test a CRV and an HRV as well. Although part of me knew that the HRV was probably not going to be the car for me, I wanted to eliminate all doubt. Well, sales guy takes a copy of my license and tries to talk me out of testing the HRV. I politely insist that I'd still like to drive it. After testing both vehicles, I decide that I do like the CRV and it's definitely a contender. But again, I'm ONLY here to test drive today. After finishing up my test drives, sales guy says he's going to grab a business card for me. 10-15 minutes go by and he returns with a sales manager. SURPRISE! I chat with the guy a bit, but prefaced my conversation by saying that I'm still doing my research, and today is just the first test drive of many. HE WOULD. NOT. STOP. Badgering me about budget, monthly payment, etc. "Why would you even want to test drive a Mazda? You know you're going to buy a Honda"! Even tried to coax me into giving him the keys to my 14 year old car for an estimate for trade in.( Not happening) I had to tell this dude three times that I wasn't buying anything that day. He applied heavy pressure because it was president's day weekend. I would not budge. This guy was not listening at all. I ended up standing up and walking out mid conversation solely because of the sales managers tactics. He wouldn't let me leave! So I was in need of a car and went to Kelly. I knew exactly what I wanted as it was advertised on line. I had fantastic experience with John Moore he was a great salesman who helped me from start to finish. The service dept was great when I came to get my sticker a few days later. The only complaint I have was Brian P the financial guy. He added additional charges onto my contract and never explained them. I thought I was getting 3 free oil changes but that was not true. It was only if I signed a service contract for an additional 199 bucks which he added without my knowing. When I looked at the contract the next day I spotted this and called him twice with no call back. I thought it was a sleazy move. I got the problem fixed by John Moore who gets 5 stars read more

This place is a joke! I purchased a HRV in March right before Covid. I've been dealing with issues since I purchased the car but no one was here to help with the first issue. The car has a horrible smell, BO on the seat belt, smelly wet dog, gross. Guck stuck in the steering wheel base and I was told the only way to remove it was to remove the steering wheel and well that could be a problem because of the air bag!! Kelly kept the car for a few days to have to fumigated, ionized ya it worked for a few days. Second issue the electronic push button start was defective. So that was was at the shop for about a week Today I'm here because the AC stopped working!! What next!! This car is a stinky LEMON!! Take it back and Kelly Honda make it right!! Went here for a few years but bottom line is the service department, while friendly, grossly overcharges. Was quoted @ $399 for an emissions problem and 2 weeks later, it was close $599. Another mechanic fixed the problem for half the price. Another problem I noticed is you ask them to quote you one repair, they find other repairs to "recommend", even if you just had the work done elsewhere. They are not checking the car; more like mechanics look at a chart -- "30,000, you need new brakes." Also, look at the 5 star reviewers for this place. Many reviewers have multiple reviews for other dealerships. Funny how someone can buy 12 cars in 1 year... Kelly employee hype job. You've been warned. read more

I was a Toyota customer for long time and on the recommendation of a friend, we decided to go for Honda and went to Kelly Honda in Lynn for our first Honda purchase. That is the worst mistake I made by buying from this place. I was a toyota watertown customer for all most 10 years and i bought 4 new cars from Toyota watertown. Even though, i was happy with their service, i decided to try a Honda car this time and stumbled up on this dealership. My experience was bad from the onset. After a huggle on price i was shocked to learn no service is included. Every time i buy a car from Toyota, it comes with two years of free service of oil change, rotation etc. After i insisted i will not buy with out service, they said they will give me 2 oil changes, rotation etc. however, when i called to schedlue a six month service, first i was scheduled for more than two weeks and told only oil change i can get free. Also, when they register the car, they put it on wrong adress and took almost 2 months to fix and also i was given the car with out inspection sticker, which i was told to do it my self. Beware. I was interested in financing a car and left a $1000 deposit (the salesperson never said it was non-refundable, simply a "deposit"). I never signed any papers ever to enter into an agreement. I decided not to finance a car in the end and. Well, I call them and received a very hectic and aggressive sales back and forth where they questioned my choices to stay with my current car. And they then said it was a non-refundable deposit. I spoke with the the sales manager only to be yelled at three times and hung up on (absolutely not professional). Long story short, Kelly Honda wanted me to leave them a deposit before we did the financing, before I knew the loan rate or payments and before we established if I needed my co-signer to get the rate I was aiming for. I agreed but only if they could assure me my deposit would be refundable, after much going back and forth they said they couldn't assure me I would be able to get my money back if we couldn't agree on a deal because, in the salesman's exact words, "they don't work for free" I question why they thought they could get me or anyone to agree to that. Not sure if they thought I would be easily pressured because I am a woman or because I am heavily pregnant. Originally I was told to bring my car in on a Saturday and they would fit me in. Well went there on the Saturday no such luck. So I spoke with the GM Joe and he assured me that I could drop my car off Monday night and he would give me a loaner Gil it was fixed. I went there on Monday night and NO Joe they left me waiting in the lobby for 20 mins only for me to return to the receptionist and her to tell me he left for the night. So I left my number with him. He NEVER called. I left count messages for him , can't leave a voice mail cause they don't use it So finally I called and they put my through to the sales manager James. He made arrangements for me to get the loaner car. After a week goes by I call they say my car is ready. So I go pick up my car. When I get home I noticed that there was three nicks in the paint. Do I call and leave a message for James to call me about the nicks I called every day and no return call. Finally I ho down on a Saturday. To see him and when I do he gives me they attitude. Telling me he had to review the pictures of my car and for me to call him on Monday after 12pm. Which I did and left a message still to this day. He has not returned my phone call or fixed the damage. When your the GM you need to lead by example. Well Joe you didn't. If your not a man of your word how can you expect ur mangers to be. I waited a week to write this so I could cool off. DO NOT TRUST THEIR SERVICE DEPT! Context/history. My brother and I both have Honda elements (10+ years old, 150000+ miles) his was purchased elsewhere, mine at Kelly. In January he decided it was time to deal with his airbag recall before his inspection sticker was due. He took it to Kelly. They said they did the recall. On the way home he noticed his SRS light on. Unable pass inspection w SRS light on, he Went back to Kelly. They of course say it's unrelated to the airbags or work they did. They say its Just a coincidence that it's a fault w his seatbelt. Charge him $500 to fix "seatbelt" (mess up his drivers seat in the process, have to go back to fix that.) final tally 14 hours, $500. Last week my July inspection was coming up and my lady was after me to "protect her safety" and get my airbag recall done. Kelly is nearby. Didn't have my brothers story fresh in my mind (we don't talk all that often, etc). So I call Kelly. They say oh yeah just be here at 7 am will take an hour. Drop car off. Waiting for it at dealer. Takes 3 hours before they say it's done. Yay. (Oddly they give no paperwork, or anything regarding recall work, just say we're all set and send us on our way). Get to inspection and the mechanic says "oh man, your SRS light is on, I can't do this". So BACK to Kelly. They check it out and say "oh no that's unrelated to the airbag or recall work, it coincidentally means that your seat-belts just failed today. That will be $500". Hmmm. Sound familiar? I decide to do some research. Find out online AND in my owners manual that "Honda seat-belts are under lifetime warranty" call Kelly to ask about this and they become oddly belligerent claiming there is NO SUCH THING AS A SEATBELT WARRANTY. I assure them that there is, that I've researched it extensively. And they try saying OH THEY PHASED THAT OUT. ITS NOW ONLY 10 YEARS. I explain again that my 2004 Honda Element has an owners manual and that on page 19 of it are the words "seat-belts are covered under lifetime warranty". They again try to say that that has been CHANGED. I explain lifetime warranties can't "change" they either exist or they don't. He insists that it doesn't. So I call Honda of Boston. As soon as I ask about it they say yes, there is a lifetime warranty (excepting if the car has been in a major accident) (which I haven't) and they say that they'd be happy to do the work. So I go to Honda of Boston. Drop the car off and await word. Oddly I get a call just an hour later asking why I'd told them I had recall work done. I explained that I spent 3 hours the day before waiting at Kelly while they did the "life threatening airbag deployer" replacements. Honda of Boston explained that both the computer records on the car and an inspection by their service tech indicated that - without a doubt - THE RECALLS HAD NOT BEEN DONE. So as best I can tell Kelly Honda service is running the following two scams. They are claiming to do life and death dependent airbag recall work but NOT ACTUALLY DOING IT. But are likely submitting to Honda for reimbursement for the work they lie about doing. In the course of wasting three hours of their customers time they are then INTENTIONALLY triggering an SRS fault. Then charging customers $500 to fix something that is actually covered under a little known warranty. They are taking the $500 off of the customer AND likely submitting the warranty claim to Honda to get paid twice. So: Ripping people off, saying they've done work that they haven't. Putting people's lives at risk. Damaging cars on purpose to create more work for themselves. Lying about all of it and getting paid 3x over for what should be a simple recall job. I've reported them to the AG and written to Honda to alert them to the fact that they're paying Kelly for recalls they don't do and paying warranty claims that customers have also been charged for. Do not trust these people with your work, your safety or your vehicle. They are despicable. Of note: Honda of Boston eventually turned around and charged me for the seatbelt work after all claiming that the "code" in the seatbelt indicated I had been in a major accident (I have never been in ANY sort of accident at all). They said they only way that code could be created would be a MAJOR impact. I know 100% that I've never had an accident so best I can figure that's how Kelly are triggering the SRS light, the must be smashing the seat belt tensioner with a mallet to simulate the effect of an accident (thereby covering their butts if someone proves that there is supposed to be a warranty. So in the end Honda of Boston weren't much better. They refused to accept my word or VIN report that I'd never had an accident instead insisting that the "code" in the faulty part that was broken (and likely vandalized by Kelly Honda) was the final word on the topic. Wouldn't recommend this dealership. Purchased a certified vehicle and they neglected to inform me that it had 6 owners and 2 accidents. I am not a mechanic and did not notice anything wrong with it when I looked at it at the dealership but it has many issues. I would have never chosen it had I known about the problems. To start with the drivers seat doesn't heat properly and turns off almost immediately after turning on. The passenger rear window goes down but won't go back up and because of this I don't put this window down at all. The drivers side automatic front window goes down but when going back up, it stops half way and goes back down. The drivers side front door body comes off the door. Occasionally the radio will make an extremely loud noise that continues until I shut the car off. I've tried to turn off the radio when this happens but it freezes. This list of problems with this car continues. I have no respect for this dealership and will never make a purchase from there again. They definitely don't deserve any stars but had to give 1 star to post the review. read more

Hi. I am writing this because my car or my Honda CR-V went in for repairs and I never got a call that it was done or not. I had to call the service department too see what was going on with it. So I call but never talked to the Service Rep or got a call from them. I had things in the car that I needed and I could not even get them. I want to share my bad experience with Kelly Honda in Lynn. I was contacted by a salesperson who said that my lease was coming to maturity in a couple of months and that Kelly Honda was experiencing a high demand for the kind of vehicle I had leased. He asked me if I would be willing to come to the dealership to discuss Kelly Honda buying out my lease early. My husband and I made time out of our afternoon to drive there and hear what the proposal was. Imagine our surprise when we were told by the salesperson that in fact there was NOT demand for the type of car I had leased and who then proceded to aggressively try to sell me cars that required a significant down payment and monthly payments far beyond what I was presently paying. Not only was a complete waste of time for me and my husband, but we found the salesperson to be surly, and have quite the chip on his shoulder, acting as though we were inconveniencing HIM. I had several subsequent episodes of poor service related to my simply attempting to obtain the date my lease expired: no response to three emails and when calling the Honda Financial Services' Lease Maturity Center, I got a recording saying "Due to an emergency no one is here today". Frustrated with the level of service I was getting, I called the sales manager of Kelly Honda in Lynn to express my dissatisfaction. I found in short order why I had the previous experience I did with the salesman. It immediately became apparent the sales director was the mentor of the hostile saleperson I dealt with. The sales director was belligerant and arguementative and when I asked him if he had ever heard of the adage that 'The customer is always right" he went into a rampage. He was rude, bullying and had a deporable attitude. He is not fit to interact with customers much less lead a sales department. By way of background, I spent 25 years as a PR executive and dealt with disgruntled customers. I was taught that a true professional never condescends, and never makes it "about him/her" but always treats the customer with kindness and courtesy. Period. I never do this , but this will be the last time i waste my time here. I bought this car in august, and my car salesmen Josphe was awesome. He's very helpful even now when i txt him with a question, he's always willing to help. That's the only reason why I'm giving this place one star. My issue is the mechanics . This will be my 3rd time coming to this dealership and not getting my car fixed. The first time , it took hours and i couldn't wait 5 hours any longer in the waiting room. The second time i dropped my car off from 11 am to 5 pm and no one ever got the chance to look at my car( i paid for Uber's the whole day ) and there response was "we're so sorry let's book you another appt" ......and Today was the last straw. I was told a week before my appt that it'll be a "quick and easy fix" ... I've been here for 2.5 hours. 2.5 hours !!!! And all they did was give me a new key for the car. And that took them 2 hours to do. This is crazy. I notice that they have my original key and when i ask for my key back there was so much attitude and It took forever. On top of that they told me to wait outside and someone will bring me my car and i did wait... and then i waited for a while and then I was looking for my car with the alarm on my key ..... and it was parked in the parking lot the whole time!!!. If i never did that i would've waited for god knows how long. And the attitude i got from asking where my keys were was extremely unnecessary. Every time i go in there it's the same people with the terrible service. They're all rude and their customer service needs to be looked at. If i was told from the start "hey we recommend you drop your car off and come pick it up when we call you because it'll take HOURS"i would've planned my one day off in 2 week better. I was offered a price by Melody Francis, the Internet Sales Consultant, in advance of my trip to the dealership. Upon arrival at the dealership, the Sales Associate and his Manager both refused to honor the price I had been quoted. I recognize that Ms. Francis offered me a very aggressive deal, but that is hardly my fault, and the fact that the dealership refused to honor it is, in my opinion, abhorrent. read more

We bought a brand new Honda Clarity in September 2019 from Kelly Honda. On Christmas morning, when we plugged it in to charge, it Self Acclerated. It went from being in park and turned off to driving down our driveway and crashed into our boat trailer. If a child had been in front of it, that child would have been run over. We could not reach Kelly Honda that day, but when we did reach them, they told us to call Honda. We did immediately. Honda picked up the car off the boat and trailer and took it to Kelly Honda for safety inspection. They found nothing that could explain the Self Acceleration. We told them we do not feel safe driving the car until they can identify the cause of the SELF Accerleration. KELLY HONDA THREATENED that if we did not bring their loaner car back, they would report it missing. They also threatened to charge us for each day we kept the loaner ( which is not nicer than our original car). James, one of their Finance people then told us we could trade in the car for 10,000$ less than we paid for it. Kelly Honda is not to be trusted if there is a serious, life threatening defect with a car. The Only Choice Kelly Honda gave us was to loose 10,000$ and THEY will RESELL the potentially dangerous car to another family. read more
