Golden State Auto Glass recently replaced the windshield on my older Porsche. I'm pretty picky and…read morewanted a "dealership quality" install but wasn't quite ready for dealer pricing. After searching a lot of the forums, it was clear that (a) car dealers usually vend out their windshield work anyway and (b) Golden State was one of those vendors. If you're reading this you already know Golden State has great reviews and have been around for several years. So I sent an inquiry to their info account and Mark the owner responded promptly. Over several emails, Mark gave me a quote, answered all my questions and scheduled an appointment at their facility, all very promptly. I dropped off the car (with my usual separation anxiety), the appointment went smoothly and the new glass looked great. But, the installer pointed out a "bubble" in the rear-view mirror seal and said it may or may not self-correct in a few days, and I should let them know if not. Bottom line, it didn't, I did, and Mark said he'd order a new seal and send Jesus to my house to do the fix. Jesus was quick and professional and now the mirror seal looks perfect. The whole experience was professional, no-hassle and confidence-inspiring (and "dealership quality"). I'd highly recommend Golden State Auto Glass.

Please, don't do any business with this shop! I brought my…read moreRivian for windshield repair after contacting my insurance company. The shop said they didn't receive any communication from the insurance company but took my car in and said the windshield would cost a little over $1,900. I contacted the insurance company again, they confirmed that they've submitted all the paperwork to the glass shop and I'll only have to pay my $500 deductible at the pickup, and they sent out all the paperwork to the glass shop one more time. Next day at the pickup the glass store told me they haven't received anything and I have to pay the full price (the receipt showed $2,628) and then it's my problem to get reimbursed. I tried asking them to check the spam folder to try and find the insurance company emails, but they wouldn't even listen to me, wouldn't call the insurance company, just wanted me to pay the full price and leave. Whatever I tried explaining, they simply wouldn't listen, kept interrupting me, wouldn't even try and find the paperwork from my insurance company. So I called the insurance company, which contacted the shop - and were told that at the drop off they've had my husband sign a paper saying that we'll pay upfront without using our insurance. My husband thought he was signing paperwork to submit the car for repairs, cause he heard us talking over the phone that our insurance company has sent them all the paperwork. How is it client service? Why wouldn't they contact the insurance company to get things sorted out? Why was the bill $2,638 instead of $1,900? I think they knew the insurance company wouldn't approve this cost and took advantage. Feel I have been scammed and it's not their first time, they knew we had insurance and wanted to use it and still had my husband sign the paper without mentioning that I meant us paying them the enormous cost.
