Went in for a speedometer calibration and had a pleasant experience. The report came pre-notarized and I only waited for around 20 minutes. Although I found it odd that they didn't issue me a receipt especially since I paid in cash. I asked for a receipt and the individual that performed my speedometer test told me that my report is a receipt. This is the first receipt I've ever received that does not contain any dollar amounts.

On June 17th 2014 my vehicle; a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR was towed from my parking garage at Archstone Fairchase due to striping of the garage. I misread the email and had the days mixed up on which levels were painted on what day. When entering my garage and seeing my vehicle missing I immediately went to ask the maintenance staff where it would be. It was simply towed to the top level. This wouldn't had been an issue IF the driver would had noticed my type of vehicle requires a flat bed. When the tow truck driver put the dolly under my vehicle he damaged my passenger side side skirt as well as "I'm guessing" -- dragged my car all the way up the garage from level one (where I park) all the way to level four. My car is an AWD (All Wheel Drive) vehicle which means when my car is in park and my emergency break is on all tires are locked. One could argue that the tow truck company did it the proper way yet I have damages so...? This led me to contact Dominion Towing. The gentleman by the name of Dwight assisted me and was actually very helpful. He personally drove out of his way to view the "damage(s)". Immediately he agreed the negligence was on their end. He then pointed me in the direction of M&M Collision. It's the third party Dominion Towing uses when or if something would happen to a vehicle they damage during a tow. I contact M&M and they simply said "bring the vehicle by on a Tuesday and we'll take a look at it for you. Now being someone who is familiar with taking his car to shops for parts and servicing and owning a performance vehicle I wasn't or am not used to just showing up somewhere with out an appointment. I come by on the Tuesday, mid day. Owner and or GM (Walt) comes out to view my car, jot down some information. Sent me on my way. Friday rolls around, I call to see where "we" are. I got the "sorry we have been real busy". Weekend passes; I call back on a Monday maybe Tuesday. "Hey we have the part in. It's in the back hanging up waiting to be painted". Let me add to the horror story by saying that I had to reiterate my story to every person who picked up my call. It get to be Friday, I call back and I finally speak with someone who started to notice how much of an inconvenience this has been. Real nice woman who handles the paper work and phone calls. She went ahead and contacted Walt directly. Got an answer for me and called me back saying "it'll be ready Tuesday or Wednesday". Weekend passes. I call back Wednesday. Young man who answered the phone says "oh yeah um, we just ordered the part today...." I said a few words he replies with "well, a 2005 side skirt was sent to us by mistake...". I hang up. I left my job JUST so I could make a face to face appearance to see what was going on. I get there. Speak to Walt. He apologized and simply said, "we've been busy". This led them to put a rush on things and said the part would be in Friday. I get a call saying the part was in and I could go get it installed. Friday I worked. Saturday was my only available day. Squeezed an hour in between my two jobs to get this side skirt installed. Shop is closed on this day and the nice gentleman who does the painting who stated (I'm just the painter) helped me out. Part installed. With all that being said... The wrong type of side skirt was installed. I'm at a loss for words. Maybe if I was paying money out of my own pocket I would had had a better outcome. Maybe before the year ends I'll have this taken care of. Until then, buyer beware.

Unassuming facade to a great auto body shop!

The pricing is worth the level of assurance I received, especially with the warranty and follow-up. I needed my vehicle turned around quickly, and they accommodated my timeline without cutting corners. What stood out most was that I never felt pressured at any point. Instead, they went out of their way in a respectful and professional manner to earn my business. As someone who usually wants a second opinion, I appreciated how they clearly explained what needed to be done, why, and showed proof of the work. They delivered exactly what I needed and got my vehicle back to me on time. I'll gladly continue to bring my business here moving forward.

The staff was incredibly attentive, honest, and welcoming from the start. Even though it's a smaller shop, they have a comfortable waiting area with free coffee, snacks, and water, which was a really nice touch. They took care of my oil change and filter without an appointment and finished in less than an hour and a half. What really stood out to me was their honesty and generosity -- they even told me my next oil change would be free, which I've never experienced before. I've been to dealerships and many other auto service places around the Washington area over the past 20 years, and I can truly say this level of service is rare. This was my first visit, but based on this experience, they've earned my five stars. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend them!

They do a very comprehensive assessment of your vehicle, and I can always feel the difference in my vehicle after my repairs are done. They're very transparent, and do a good job of taking care of their customers by doing jobs well and in a timely manner. I think their warranty on certain parts and services is also great. They really take time to make sure the issue is resolved even after they install the new part. Brennan has taken care of me the past 2-3 of times at craftsman. I really trust these guys and will continue to use craftsman (in merrifield) as my mechanic for the future.

5.0 Stars Outstanding experience and great customer service…read more Yelp brought me here. I did a search for the top auto repair shops in my area and Craftsman was well on the list. Reviews were solid. Once I realized how close I was to two of their locations, I made a mental note to check it out. I called, they were welcoming over the phone and not in a spazzy rush like some of the other shops I had been calling around to. They took their time over the phone!!! I made an appointment to get some estimates, showed up, told them my concerns, and they checked out a few things going on with my car. Again, very welcoming in person as well. I came to get an estimate for front and rear brakes replacements, possible oil change, state inspection. As I waited, I skimmed through two books the owner had written! They said I could have a copy, so kept one. The owner has the right idea and it shows. The waiting area was cozy and super chill equipped with coffee and snacks and TV. What took the service over the top was how well the gentleman took to physically show me what was going on with my car. He also took pictures. In the front office we examined the photos and he explained, and educated me about what was going on and what needed attention and why it was relevant. He made additional recommendations based on car mileage and manufacturer recommended maintenance. We discussed pricing and I agreed to get some of the work done. They gave me a Lyft ride home. Called me when it was done a few hours later. Scheduled a Lyft for me to return. Back at the auto shop, I paid and I was on my way. I felt really impressed because they explained things about my car I had never known about in the 5 years of owning it. I felt educated and walked away understanding things better. In all the 20 years I've maintained cars, no shop has ever explained things to me the way they did. I must admit, I felt the labor fees were a bit steep. I felt my wallet go ouch! However, I feel extremely safe in my vehicle because of everything I learned. I will definitely, without a doubt return for future maintenance work and I will knock out some of the other recommended maintenance items in the near future. Highly recommend. Great experience without a single hiccup.

I did…read morea poll on Facebook and yes auto came up multiple times, and when I did a comparison with the other top answers in asking for quotes on services, Yes auto seemed to be the most affordable. I was able to text Daniel directly to be able to tell him what I needed done, and they have pretty good availability, usually even same-day. From what I've gathered over the past few years, they're honest and don't do unnecessary work nor do anything fraudulent to plan you having to come back to them. There was one time I got my brake pads and rotors replaced and I noticed them squealing again pretty soon after the service, and Daniel said I could bring it back in for him to look at, no charge. Turns out they were squeaking because of moisture on the rotors. Today I got my rear brake pads replaced and also got some power steering fluid, and the total was $148. I also need new tires soon, and though they quoted me for my tires, they also told me I could (and should) get them for cheaper at Costco. As someone else has mentioned, it's a modest garage, nothing big like a dealership or anything. They are in a strip of other garages, including one that is Vietnamese ("high tech quality repair" is the name of that shop); this one is Korean-run, but no need to be xenophobic or worry about not being able to understand them or anything, as they speak great English. Again, great pricing, responsiveness, honesty, and fast turnaround!
