Meat pierogies with onions were my choice, and next time I really want to try the regular traditional ones that way. I have a feeling they will be spectacular. I started with chicken noodle soup. I came to this diner on the recommendation of my colleague, and it was a pleasant surprise! I intended to order the cabbage soup, but there's pork already premade with the soup--which I can't eat--so I opted for the potato and cheese perogies instead. My dish was delightful and filling; it tasted nothing like the perogies served at school! These had a warm, luscious layer of dough that encompassed mashed potato and cheese inside. It was very indulgent and tasted like a guilty pleasure because the perogies were slightly dripping with grease. The caramelized onions topped on the perogies were surprisingly tasteful and truly made the dish perfect! The ambiance was cozy with cute holiday decor. A nondescript little neighborhood diner hiding some absolutely amazing food. Was coming up from the city and wanted some "diner" food. I know the aramingo went out of business so I searched google for a diner near me and found this little gem. I had the pierogis with a side of home fries. Absolutely delicious. Eggs, club sandwiches, burgers. A few Polish items are listed. I wanted the potato panckes, but they weren't available. I got a bowl of the cabbage soup. Homemade and filled with carrots, potatoes and bits of kielbasa. So flavorful. My BF has a ham and cheese omelet with potatoes and toast and we shared mushroom and sauerkraut filled pierogies. Not what I'm used to. When I got lunch I ordered a chicken salad sandwich which I remember being pretty average. I havent been back since. Maybe because the prices arent great, maybe the atmosphere is very dark, or maybe because theres other places around that I like more and are way more afforadable. $40 for 2 for lunch or breakfast is a bit ridiculous. read more

I went into this establishment with high hopes only to have them sent crashing down. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered unsweetened iced tea which they didn't have. This is no big deal water will suffice just fine. Next I ordered the French toast and a side of kielbasa. The French toast came out with almost an entire container of cinnamon sprinkled on it and raw throughout the 3 slices. I basically ate the crust around the edges and that was it. The kielbasa tasted good but was a little bit too tough for me. I left about half of it on the plate because I was sick of chewing. My wife ordered SOS and a side of scrapple which she enjoyed. Best pierogies in Philly. Love this spot and while it's primarily a diner, my favorite combo is an order of potato cheese pierogies and scrapple. Syrenka used to be my go to, but M&M's dough is much lighter and the proper ratio to the tangy filling. With fried onions, this is the closest I've gotten to Grandma's in this city. This is a true luncheonette (read: tiny) so not great for groups - the max they can accommodate is 4 (maybe 6?) if you are really small bodied and can squeeze into the row of booths, otherwise it's counter service. Do note that it does get very busy around brunch/lunchtime, especially on weekends. Accents are heavy, dried palm leaves from last year's easter are tucked above the flattop, and the overall decor is circa 1970s but this spot is the real deal. read more

I have been coming here since I moved back to the area in '99. The breakfast here is fantastic. It's run by husband and wife team Marion and his wife Margaret. They are both friendly and personable people. The portions are perfect and the Polish fare is also great, all homemade from the plazcki to pierogies and soups. Sure the prices have gone up a bit the past few years, but the portions haven't gone down. They serve both breakfast and lunch. I recommend the creamed chip beef on toast along with a side of scrapple to mop it up with! If you're going on a weekend be forewarned, it gets crowded and the place is small, so if you don't mind the wait, it's well worth it. read more

We have lived in Port Richmond for a few years and this place is down the street from us. It's incredibly wholesome, I believe it was an older couple that runs it, not super busy at all for a Sunday morning but got in around 9am. The menu is simple but the portions are big and the breakfast is tasty. The kitchen clean and is open so you see exactly what's going on. M&M is a great place to experience authentic food in very Polish-centric Port Richmond. For roughly the price of a Wawa sizzli, you can get a tasty and fresh breakfast sandwich. They also have a lot of standard club-sandwich type diner fare. But the real showcase of this little hole in the wall is the pierogies. Growing up in a Polish hood, I know a good pierogies when I taste one, and these were delicious. Then again, potato wrapped in dough and dunked in butter would be hard to eff up! But seriously, Mrs. T ain't got nothin' on M&M. M&M is open 7 days a week from 7am-3pm. If you find yourself hungry and lost in the mean streets of Port Richmond, please stop in for a dose of Eastern European comfort food. I have never try polish food before, after reading the highly remarks from other reviews, I took 4 friends with me to have lunch there, (they only serve breakfast & lunch). the place is small, can hold 34 persons, One chef cook outside and anothe kitchen behind in the back. they are relatively busy, with only one waitress and they talk with Polish language(I guess) with most customers. I ordered Potato pancake and a cup of carbage soup, The Potato cancake was hot, it burn my lip and my cheek, because I was hungry after wait for 52 minutes. The soup was ok. they are under staff, the chef and waitress have to take care the bills, I am not a friend of food handler touching the money. I got stomarch ache after an hour. My friend (Polish) with me said I would not like this kind of food, she knows it. I like adventure, but this one do not go too well. read more

Owners are a super friendly Polish couple who consistently show their caring attitude towards their customers. This is a spotlessly clean establishment. I have happy memories of winter Friday evenings enjoying cozy meals as a family twenty years back. Yes I am nostalgic! This place has not changed, and sitting there I feel like I've gone "back home." I grew up in a Polish household, and their stuffed cabbage (golampki) was the best I've ever tasted, (other than Babcia's!)
