Scary experience. The tow truck driver tried to intimidate me into getting my car towed to his garage which is not an approved AAA service. They're only approved for towing. He asked where I wanted my car towed and when I told him he began berating my garage mechanic and saying how horrible they are. When I told the tow driver that my garage is on AAA recommended list, he said "oh AAA doesn't know what the f--k they're talking about ". Bizarre since AAA pays them for towing! He then claimed that I probably would have to have my entire engine replaced. I just laughed and said yeah ok. Called AAA to report this creep. read more

You want to be abused by people you do business with? Then come to this establishment. I called AAA and they called this malcontent to do a simple inflate so I could get to a tire repair facility. He was speaking to my gf and was demeaning and rude to her, treating her like a child. Not everyone knows a lot about cars and need help from people who do. So I immediately took the phone from her as I could hear him start to raise his voice at her. She was visibly shaken. As soon as he heard a males voice, he came to and started to behave himself. However, I was not interested in doing business with him, I just wanted his information. He became belligerent and started shouting and he wouldn't give it to me (in the background I heard one of his associates laughing hysterically)..."Ask AAA..." he said and then he hung up on me. Well, I called AAA and they wouldn't give me his business information at first. I had to ask for a manager. She went to go talk to a manager. The manager was not interested in talking to me, but they did give me the information so I could hold these abusive people accountable. read more

Robert is an absolute zero. I called AAA to have my car towed back to the dealer, after recall work went awry. I made it a point to ask *what company* would be coming out, as there was one I didn't wish to do business with. The rep indicated that the company was out of N. Andover. Not long after, I received a phone call from Robert, stating that I would have to pay him in advance and get reimbursed (not sure how you know in advance whether you'll be rerouted due to road work/accident/downed limb, etc.?) I told him that's not the arrangement I made with the dealership, (they were going to pay anything over the first 3 miles, (easily confirmed via phone), and he replied "I don't have time to chase down money, just pay." When I asked him how many miles, he replied "10" (@$4.50/mi), and I reminded him that the first 3 miles were supposed to be free of charge (he said nothing). He then continued, "I don't know what the problem is, it's a couple of bucks, just pay it and get reimbursed". I told him I could not and he shouted "don't you have a credit card?!" I asked him to cancel the service call. I then phoned the dealership, and was told they'd never heard of such a thing - that they do this routinely. After contacting AAA about the situation, I found that the driver was not from N. Andover, but M & S Towing (the very company I DIDN'T want to deal with!) This is the most notoriously sorry excuse for a company in existence today. Horrible to do business with - I won't! RUN from this half-wit! He is rude, crude and extremely ignorant. Just called AAA for roadside assistance for a flat tire and M&S was dispatched. The gent was on time, courteous, and efficient. When my spare tire lacked appropriate tire pressure, he suggested I follow him to his shop, about 0.6 miles down the street since his truck didn't have a compressor on board. We made the trip and he pumped up the tire. He was a kind person, and I appreciated his attention and care. I know he's a subcontractor for a few roadside assistance providers, AAA being the most used. I hope people using his service understand that each roadside assistance provider pays very little to the subcontractor, maybe $30 (or less!) per call. Considering this and the dangers associated with the job, I'm happy for the service I received today. I hope the roadside assistance providers (AAA, BMW, Jaguar, etc) consider paying these subcontractors better, even if it means a bit more money from us. read more

Truck driver put on the right turn signal and turned left onto my lane then decided to cut over 3 lanes to engage in road rage when I was trying to get away from this psycho. Started brake checking and trying to run me off the road. Called the place and the driver picked up and admitted to trying to run me off the road and started yelling and throwing profanitys. Learn to drive and act like a "tow truck driver" if you even are one. Stay away from M&S Service and their drivers if you want to stay alive. Robert worst kind of driver/person. read more

Despite the less than favorable reviews posted, we had a decent experience. We had the car towed by M&S via AAA, and the driver suggested bringing it to his shop.They replaced the starter in a few hours, and we picked it up without incident, for less than the price he quoted, and he took a credit card, not cash. I've worked with M&S on 3 different situations. My first exposure to them was an emergency situation with my wife's car broken down and would not start. I contacted AAA and M&S was dispatched quickly, within 15 minutes. The driver, Chris, was concern about where the car was and making sure that my wife and children were safe so he secured the area and the vehicle to keep them out of danger. Chris got my family home and the vehicle to the yard to be assessed. Within a matter of an hour the vehicle was assessed to have a faulty battery which AAA sold me and the good mechanics at M&S replaced it promptly and got the car back on the road no time. Class act- family oriented people. My second encounter with M&S was when my son's car needed to be towed to a friend's house a New Hampshire. I called them directly and they have the car picked up and delivered within a matter of an hour. Rob was the driver this time and he was prompt careful with the vehicle and delivered it no time at all. Rob was one of the mechanics that worked with my wife's car earlier in the year and remember the address and talked about the situation with the car. In today's day and age who remember stuff like that especially when you're working a volume business? My third encounter with M&S was when my wife's ABS system locked up in the middle of traffic off of Shawsheen street in Tewksbury. Again, contact AAA and M&S is dispatched at the scene within a matter of 15 minutes. Once again Chris secures the scene and safety of my wife and the vehicle and gets it loaded on the bed and back to the shop for needed fixing. The kicker on this one is the ABS system went the main computer. To get a new one cost almost $2,500. I called around to a few different shops in the dealership and they're all the same... This was going to run in the thousands. Eddie and Rob worked their hardest to try and find a used abs box and keep the costs and the labor down. They got my wife's car up and running again saving me thousands. M&S is a great shop and tow company. The guys who work there know what they're doing, understand people,what's important and get the job done. You can't go wrong with M&S. read more

I just had my car towed and fixed with M&S, I was broken down at 7 PM and called probably 10 places before I reached Rob who was able to come and tow my car. We thought initially it was an alternator because the car died while I was driving but it turned out to just be a broken belt. If Rob wanted to screw me over he could have for a more expensive alternator repair. My car was fixed the next day and I'd running fine. I can't say nothing but good things about these guys. I had received repair estimates from a nearby shop and then get a 2nd opinion at M&S. M&S has consistently saved me $100s if not $1000s based on the bogus estimates I had received. Being a AAA shop, I can bring my car over for services at little to no notice. This was nice when I was looking to buy a used car and they checked it for me. Bruce the original owner is slowly stepping aside, but I have had very good experiences with the mechanics and manager that I have been dealing with over the past year or so. Beware! New owner Rob has NO idea how to run a tow business! I had my vehicle towed by a highly experienced driver, polite, clean!!!! A week later my daughter needed her flat tire changed, called and asked for the same driver and ROB the "Boss" fired ALL his drivers! He was beyond arrogant to me and was so rude because I did not have my vehicle towed to his garage!!!! I have family who owns a garage, that does not give him any right to disrespect me!!!!!! These guys were great! I got a flat tire at 3pm on a Saturday, and couldn't get the lug-nuts off to change it so I called AAA. Steve from M&S Service arrived to help. The nuts were rusted so tight, his socket wrench bent from the force he used trying to loosen them - not even the compression wrench worked! So Steve towed my car to the M&S garage at the other side of town, and he and his coworkers were somehow finally able to get the tire off and put on my spare-donut. They were all super nice, and I really appreciate their extra effort so I could drive home to Boston. THANKS, M&S! read more

My daughter's truck broke down in the middle of the street and needed to be towed so we called AAA. The driver told her that he couldn't tow her truck to her house because of the plow, however, he could tow it back to his lot. He told her that he had the part and it was $25 and it would take a few minutes to put on and it would cost $300 in labor. When I went down to get her I was upset and ticked off, I called AAA, they said of course he can tow the truck with the plow to her house but it would cost $300. (we knew that because she had it done a few months earlier). I believe he was out to screw AAA and make some money on the side and take advantage of my daughter. We had AAA get a new driver to bring it back to her house. Well I let the driver know that we weren't please with his services, he had to the audacity to call us CU%#S. REALLY?!?! apparently these people work for or with AAA, which i don't think they should. very slow rude service and no indication as to who the guy was when he walked over to my car. usually they have proof they are working for AAA. he tried to fix my flat and couldn't because the spare was no good and told me i needed a tow truck and that he would call one for me and i would be waiting another half an hour so i said ok. i waited an hour and then called AAA and they said no one had called for the tow truck and that they were so sorry the people they i was working with were not their own. so i then waited another hour for for the tow truck to get there and he said he couldn't tow it cuz my truck was too big.... shouldn't he know what kind of car i have already? so i had to just use fix a flat and pray i got home ok which i did, thankfully i only lived about 15 minuets away! read more

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! BEWARE OF M & S SERVICE AUTO REPAIR This company is no longer owned by the previous owners mentioned in the other reviews. A new owner took over approximately 6 months ago and you might want to read my review below. Stay clear of him. He is on the list for AAA tows but then talks people into letting him fix their cars. And that's when the drama begins. He is unstable, unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, but those are great qualities for a CROOK! READ BELOW Called AAA for a tow for our car to be taken to the dealership for repair. Rob showed up and asked why we would send it to the dealership when he could fix it with no problem and if we were not satisfied he would then tow it to the dealership. We were apprehensive, but decided to give him a try. That was our first mistake. This was the worst experience of our lives. He is a maniac! When we tried to ask what repairs he was doing on the car, he would not explain what he was doing. He gave us a figure on what it would be but when we got there to pick up the car it was more money. When questioned, he kept saying I saved you money in not taking it to the dealership, when we asked for an itemized bill, he would not put in writing what he actually did to the car and the amount for labor and parts. We ended up in an argument and he then proceeded to lock up our car and would not give us access unless we paid him in cash because he was not going to answer any of our questions. This then snowballed into a fight that we had to call the police to intervene. He is an arrogant, unprofessional man who should be ashamed of himself. He knows nothing about customer service. The poor dispatch man that was standing there apologizing to us I believe was the original owner of this business. If it was Mr. Crocker who was standing there, I feel sorry for you that you had to watch this maniac ruin the business you worked hard for all those years. People respected you when you were at the Mobil Station. Unfortunately, times change and you sold this business to this uncouth maniac. I already reported this to AAA and was told his service business is not a registered company with AAA. The towing business is, but not the auto service part. People please be aware that he is stealing business and then he puts the screws to unsuspecting customers. When you question him, he doesn't want to talk to you and then holds your car hostage. He nearly ran me down in the parking lot with my own car when he decided that he was going to lock up my car in one of his service bays. He drove it like a maniac into the bay and shut the door. Even with the police there, I still did not get the answers as to what he actually did to my car. He also said he would not warranty what he did. Unfortunately, it is too late for me. I wish I had seen these other reviews, but I hope that someone will read this and take heed that you need to beware of this man. The tow truck driver's name is Rob and supposedly he says he bought this business 6 months ago. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to fill them in on the rest of the details. I hope the IRS knows that he made us pay CASH! Not sure any of that money will end up on his tax form and probably none of the money he cheats others out of will either.. I was traveling from my MIL house in MD back to my home in ME with my 4 month old son and dog on 495 when I started smelling a horrible buring smell. I pulled off and called my mom who found M&S service on google. They were the only ones open, they called my mom 4x to give her status updates and to let her know that they had gotten to me. Lost my key and needed my car towed to a dealership. When the truck driver from this establishment arrived, I was not even greeted. He asked me what was wrong with my vehicle and I advised him that I didn't have a key. He proceeded with extreme attitude saying "why the hell don't you just have a key guy come over and make your key, I can't tow your car without a f***g key" I told him that I needed to get the key programmed at the dealership. My fiancé spoke to him on the phone and Seen if there was anything he could do. He gave my fiancé a hard time because my fiancé was trying to give him ideas on what we can do to try to get the car towed. After not even a minute of speaking to my fiancé, he passed me my phone and said "he doesn't know what he's talking about, you guys are effing crazy, I want nothing to do with this effing shit." Instead of telling us he couldn't tow it and calmly went on his way, he decided to yell and curse in front of not only a women (myself) but my 3 year old daughter. This company works through AAA, and I called them and AAA advised me they would not longer be working with this tow company! Hopefully this helps others avoid such disrespect. read more

Brian from M & S Service was very helpful! We called AAA for a tow because our Jeep's brakes weren't working. Brian could immediately see what the problem was and told us he may be able to fix it at his shop overnight. It was a Friday evening when he towed it back to his shop. Saturday morning Brian called and apologized that he wasn't able to fix it yet because of a few more tow jobs he had to do overnight. He also knew he wouldn't get to it that day and didn't want us to be without our Jeep for longer than necessary. He towed it to the 495 Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Lowell since they could get to it sooner- no charge. He gave 495 all the info and we had it fixed that day. I appreciated Brian's honesty, integrity, and service. I understand it's tough to get things fixed on a weekend and Brian did everything he could to make sure we could get it fixed right away. I will definitely go back here if I need something done on my vehicle. read more

a week or so ago i had my car inspected. i failed for my front end. my ball joints were no good. i called several tewksbury locations for estimates. m @ s towing was the only one to respond. i brought my suv to be fixed on thursday. by saturday repairs were complete. when i received my bill for the work they had done, it was much lower than i expected. there work was excellent and the price was fair. i could not be happier with the way i was treated. thank you guys. big kev leclair. read more
