This place is AWESOME! Friendly staff and speedy service! I usually get the Maan special with marinated beef and pickles wrapped in a tortilla bread and grilled so the exterior is nice and crispy. The beef is tender and juicy and they serve it with a delicious garlic mayo sauce, hummus, salad and fries. Cost is roughly $12 but this plate can easily feed up to two people. My sister had a chicken salad which looked very good as well. Will need to try that next time I come in. read more

Literally, the woman at the front laughed a bit as she said that the plastic I had found in my salad was from the wrap that they use for the chicken. As if they had more than a singular job of just making the food we ordered to what the menu said... Pretty disappointing, I watched her remove the 10 bucks begrudgingly from the register as if she was doing us a favor. Told her to keep the money and we walked out with a couple of expletives as I can't believe that someone knowing they did less than their best- thought it best to aim even lower. Decent food but even better customer service by the sweet Mexican guy that rang me up. Very nice and professional. I do however feel a little bad for the staff that has to work here because as I was getting rang up, the franchise owner (I'm only assuming but I'm pretty sure I'm right) came out of the wood works and hovered over the poor worker the entire remainder of our transaction. This has been my go to for nearly a year now. The food is excellent and fresh and the service is usually top notch. Having a limited lunch, I make use of the web ordering and usually don't have any issues. It does seem that when the owner/manager is not working, the service is very different. The last time, I didn't get the correct order. This time I went and they claimed to not have received the order. When I arrived in the restaurant, employees were just sitting around and talking. Amazingly when she walked up to the online order receipts "it just came in". I have never had this issue with an order delaying and was asked to wait 10 minutes for the order to be prepared. If I could give a 5th star I would however my only complaint is that they advertise delivery.... but they do not deliver unless your order is over $60 worth of food. I think they should adjust their listing to reflect that. When we saw delivery available we reviewed the menu and our hearts were set on it. But when you call to place the order, they inform you then that your order needs to be for over $60. If they had a driver available, they would be making so much more money. :-/ WE want healthier options other than pizza and chinese... I hope this will help with considering the option to have a driver available and lowering the cost to a min of $30. read more

The woman in the baseball hat dressed in all black semi acknowledge my entrance in to restaurant and then just lingered and walked around for 5 mins taking glances p like she didn't know what to do or just didn't care to do anything. The restaurant had a total of 3 people already eating, so she ovbiously wasn't busy serving people. The owner / operator, Maan, has created a place where you can get real Mediterranean food - not a fast food franchise version of it. Besides the expected items - gyros /shwarma, falafels, lamb - done well, they've got a range of less common (in the US) but very common (in the Mediterranean) selections. He's got ful medames - fava beans cooked with olive oil, parsley, onion, garlic and lemon juice. It's a staple of menus throughout the region, and his are as good as those I've had in Amman or Dubai. Try the "baked pies" - at least that's what they're called on the menu. In the region, where they are common from the Balkans to the Gulf, they're called burek or bureg and you can get cheese, meat, spinach, and combination spinach and cheese. He's got them all - good pastry (though not the filo dough version from the Balkans) and they're fresh and tasty. Think Mediterranean samosas. Besides the usual baklava for desert, try the "toots" - they're kind of like Mediterranean donut hole - with a slight honey sweetness, and cinnamon, fennel, and anise spice hints. Wash it all down with the slightly salty drinking yogurt - again, a regional favorite. It goes great with all of the food. It's all well done. A trip to the region, right near the intersection of Oceanside and College! We'll be back. read more

I have been seeing this place on groupon and I never bothered to check it out because it is called "Mediterranean" grill, which I don't like because there are so many countries on the mediterranean sea and I never know what specific type of food "Mediterranean" means. Anyway, it is mostly Eastern Mediterranean -- meaning Lebanon/Greece/Armenia, that region. The food is delicious! We ordered TEKAH KABOB (filet mignon). The meat was so flavorful and juicy. The rice was also flavorful -- it was not just plain white rice. The hummus is some of the best I have ever had. Amazing meal. $12.99 We also ordered CHICKEN SHAWERMA. It tasted exactly like real chicken shawerma in the Middle East! Every Arab/Greek place has shawerma on its menu, but none of them do it like Maan's. I highly recommend the chicken shawerma, even if you're not really a chicken fan. They have garlic mayo available, which is unusually thick. It's not bad, but I prefer the lighter, fluffier version. The owner and staff are all very friendly, and the place was clean. I'll definitely be back to try everything else on the menu. I highly recommend it. P.S. The meat tends to be cooked closer to well-done, so if you enjoy very rare cuts, this may not be the place for you. Not to worry, though, the meat is still very juicy and delicious. read more

It's ok for quick (used loosely) Mediterranean food. I would not recommend this spot if you wanted true and real quality food. I feel it looses flavor and texture. Having tried all sorts of Mediterranean spots I have gained a little knowledge. I find the rice to be super bland, not that rice has real flavor unless add but it seems to be super dry and under/over cooked. The Chicken is heavily covered in their sauce and it over powers the meat. Gives it a gummy taste. Not what I would expect. Sometimes less is more. I had to literally wipe all the sauce off and dip the chicken into it just to finish plate. If you notice the picture on the menu board seems to have a decent amount of chicken on the plate however I had 1 skewer and for the $18 I was expecting a lot more. read more

I have come here a handful of times and only for take out, but the food and service provided at the counter has always been exceptional. I have ordered the Gyro Plate, the Greek Salad,the Shawerma Chicken, and the Tekah Chicken. I eat A LOT at "Mediterranean" places (Iranian, Turkish, Armenian, and Lebanese), and I find Maan's Mediterranean Grill one of the top tier in North County in terms of freshness, seasoning, portion, and value. Maan's Mediterranean Grill is a refreshing and healthy alternative to other cuisine options in that area of Oceanside. I was really looking forward to Maan's and was hoping I would LOVE it so it could be my new gyro place. This place is pretty mediocre. We asked for extra tzatziki sauce...the cashier asked how many we want and I said a total of 4. He charged us for 4 sauces! we got an order of falafel, 2 gyro wraps, a shwarama wrap (each wrap should come with one free sauce right? At least the gyros!) When I looked in the bag he gave us a total of 4 sauces for all that food...4 sauces that we were charged for!! So...NONE of the wraps in that order comes with a free sauce?? That's just a small issue. I was really hoping the wraps would be good but the meat was so disappointing. There is a DELICIOUS gyro booth at the Farmer's Market in Oceanside on Thursdays that puts Maan's to shame. I'll probably stick with that and the Kebab Shop. read more

The hummus and all sides we got tasted spoiled....rank.... The falafel was cold and hard. The tekah chicken had little flavor, and it tasted like Tyson frozen chicken pieces. The domlas were not cold. They didn't taste like they were stuffed with rice, but instead, cream cheese. There was no texture inside, and they also tasted putrid. I love Mediterranean food, but I had a hard time swallowing the meals (either order) served. I hope they were having a bad day, but either way, I won't go back. Buyers beware. read more

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews This place is mediocre at best. The gyro meat, which they tout as a specialty, is pre-sliced frozen garbage. Not even close to fresh seasoned lamb sliced from the spit. The rest of the meal (there were 12 of us) was okay. The hummus was likely pre-made and unremarkable, the chicken tekah was the best dish we had and it was good bit not exceptional. I only gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 because of the nice decor. I came here for lunch around noon and ordered their lunch special. It was a gyros wrap and a drink for over $7. The wait was literally about 30 minutes, so if your in a hurry for lunch, this is NOT the place to come. The gyros was Extremely small, im talking 2-3 little slices of meat, the rest was pita. Awesome food, very yummy with fast and friendly service! My only negatives is that the cheesecake and moose pie are frozen :-(. Not fresh which they don't tell you and I know why. They were still frozen when delivered and even tasted like a frozen dessert after it defrosted. I would take it off the menu, period! The baklava was delicious!!! Lastly, they need more window blinds because when the sun starts to go down your are blinded and can't escape.
