I have yet to write a review of Maan's because I have never actually eaten there. Meaning, I always get my food to go. I kept thinking that I would wait until I physically ate inside to write a review but it seems that isn't going to happen. Maan's is in my rotation of food to pick up for dinner on my way home from work. I am always satisfied and that is why I keep going back. My favorite item to get is the mix for two. I absolutly love the chicken kabob and gyros. The rice is actually really good too. I am not a fan of their hummus however. As I said, I always pickup my food so I don't know how their service is but they are always friendly when I come it to pay. read more

Stumbled upon this place on Door Dash a few months ago, and boy am I glad I did. We have been back several times since. This place is so good! For my family of 5, we usually order the special for $24.99. This meal comes with 3 meats, rice, veggies, two greek salads, hummus, and pita bread. I usually pay extra and get the greek pita which is much tastier. The meal is so big it feeds all of us easily. You cannot go wrong with any of the meats, however, we usually get two chicken tekkahs and gyro in ours. Don't forget about the garlic sauce, by the way. It completes the dish. The creamy garlic mayo sauce is TO DIE FOR! My family and I usually order extra just to have so we can dip other things in it. Ha! So bomb. I would definitely recommend this place. Not authentic at all. Tzatziki is gross. Ganoush is tasteless. Gyro wrap is light on meat. Even the greek salad is disappointing with thick skin not trimmed on cucumbers, sliced black olives instead of kalamata, oily dressing and mushy old tomatoes. The vast menu was posted above the counter, but was too difficult for me to read, and they had no printed menus, so I had to look it up online, which was inconvenient. We found the Gyros, falafel, and dolmas to be too salty. The dolmas rice was also mushy. On the positive side, the portions fed us for 3 meals and the sauces were delicious. My daughter had the chicken over rice and really enjoyed it. I'll be trying other Greek restaurants in the Oceanside area. read more

Vegetarian review: A big meh from both my partner and I. There was something off-putting about every dish we got. Service was friendly, but a long wait, and they were obviously prioritizing take out orders. We ordered the Greek salad, hummus and pita appetizer, and the falafel appetizer. Greek salad: lettuce was crisp yet warm, which was unpleasant. It came with canned black olives, instead of higher quality olives. Disappointing. The dressing was tasty. Hummus and pita: Super bitter. To me that is a sign of bad/rancid tahini. Falafel: Unpleasantly greasy. Decent flavor and fragrance, but served with bad tahini and a weird "house" sauce, took away from it. These were vegetarian dishes, the meat might be better... My wife had the vegetable kabob plate and I had the Maan's special gyros dinner. Both meals were delicious and more than we could eat. We had leftovers for lunch today. I'm of Lebanese and Greek heritage, so am always on the lookout for good Middle Eastern food. Maan's is similar to many order-at-the-counter Middle Eastern restaurants -- shwarmas, etc., but I was particularly interested in the dolmas (rolled grapeleaves), bc this is my favorite food on the planet. It was good but not great -- rice was very dense and it didn't have pine nuts or meat. (I make mine with pine nuts, lemon juice, and garlic betw. the layers--Unfortunately, it's too labor intensive for my hands now). The tabouleh at Maan's was good, but only comes in large entree-sized portion. That's a lot of tabouleh. At home, I had to add more lemon juice and olive oil to the leftovers. It costs $12.99. Hummus was thin. My husband got a gyro and said he'd get it again. I got a combination of appetizers - dolmas (6 in an order for $6), hummus (comes with pita slices), and the tabouleh. We both got a can of soda. Bill came to over $50 with tip. Not sure we'll go back as I'm still searching for great dolmas. If we return, I will try the kebobs. read more

This a review for their catering service. My advice? If you need catering, look elsewhere. I confirmed no less than 3 different times (over the phone) the date and time for my catering order. We showed up at the designated time, and the staff behind the counter had absolutely NO knowledge of our order. Naturally, I was furious, especially as I had already paid in full and had the receipt in my email to prove it (and a house full of family members to feed for my daughter's Baptism reception). The staff got the owner on the phone, and he swore up and down that he couldn't refund any of my order since the payment had already processed (a lie -- my Mom sells credit card processing and told me that was a load of BS) -- payment, but the way, that the owner himself had accepted a few nights prior over the phone. When I demanded that he needed to do something for me (give me a discount on my order, a free salad, something!) to correct his massive error, he said he'd give me a voucher, and would "be generous." I ordered $170 worth of food, and he sent me a $20 gift card for his mistake -- not exactly my definition of generous. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because A) the staff behind the counter was phenomenal, especially under pressure. They hopped to it right away and had our *entire* order out in 25 minutes flat, and helped us out to our car with it and everything. They were the real heroes that day, NOT the owner, who frankly could learn a thing or two from his employees about customer service; also, B) the food was very tasty and my family loved it. It's just fortunate that I had built extra time into our schedule that day before the Baptism so that we could afford to wait for our food to be made. If we hadn't, and we'd had to leave without any food, you better believe Mr. Maan would be hearing from our credit card company. read more
