Came here on quite a few occasions and I've always gotten some variation of the Tekah chicken. Also, try their garlic mayo sauce. 1. Tekah chicken wrap 4.5/5 Great chicken wrap that has all the fixings of a wrap. 2. Tekah Chicken rice plate 4/5 Comes with chicken, rice, salad, and pita bread with hummus. Huge portion for what you're paying, although I have to say I enjoy the wrap version a little bit more. 3. Baklava 4/5 Definitely on the sweet side but it's baklava, so you can't fault them for that. They knocked it out of the park!!!! I came in here because I originally purchased a Groupon deal. When I arrived there was plenty of parking. As I entered there was plenty of seating and I was greeted right away. I looked at the menu and decided I would select the Gryo with Fries. The man at the register let me know the Groupon was for Dine in only but let me use it to go since it was my first visit :). The meal cost was less then $10 so I think it was priced well. I sat and waited for maybe 10 minutes and when I received my food it was fresh, hot, and what a large portion!!! I went home and took my first bite!!! Scrumptious & Mouth watering! The flavors were very intense! If you are not a fan of onions you may not care for it so much but I love onions!!!! The sauce was rich and overall the meal fulfilled my appetite. I would say that everything I sampled ( Salad / fries/ Greek salad/ Tekkah wrap/ Shawarma plate) seemed to be missing one key component which turned a potentially good meal into an average one. If anyone knows as a great Lebanese place in San Diego let me know! Good - The wraps are pretty good. - Shawarma was okay, too much nutmeg in my opinion. Was also missing the lemon slices that are in the professionally styled photos on yelp. Avoid - The fake "Zankou chicken garlic butter" looked absolutely disgusting. I had the pleasure to try this place thanks to my sister-in-law taking me out for lunch. I asked her to order for me since she had been here before. We got the lunch special, Chicken Tekkah. It comes with a nice size salad, choice of soup (I had Lentil), basmati rice, and a side of pita bread with hummus. The chicken was very moist with just enough flavor. The basmati rice is always on the dryer side, but I like it for the dish. I was full off the salad. I would certainly return to try some other dishes and especially the desserts. read more

I love Mediterranean food and love trying everyone's take on chicken and steak shawarma and I saw this place had 4 stars so wanted to try it out. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate that comes with hummus rice and salad. I skipped the salad and just added double rice. I also decided to add steak shawarma to my plate. The total was $21 and change which seemed high for me specially because I'm used to spending $12-16 on my favorite kebab place. When I received my plate I realized why it was over $20, the proportions are big, I was impressed with how much meat they load you with, definitely not stingy. I also appreciated how much pita bread they provide. Mediterranean food is supposed to make you feel not guilty or at least I wanna feel that way instead of eating a fast food burger or burrito, the proportions were a little big and I didn't see an option for a small bowl like other places. The chicken and steak were pretty good, probably give them a 4 star for the taste and that's being generous. The hummus was not great, I usually need extra, this hummus was very plain, store bought hummus from Trader Joe's tastes 10x better than this. In summary, for the price I paid and the amount of food I got and how hungry I was, it worked, but the taste was not fully there for me. I hate to be harsh but I regret not driving 15 minutes to San Marcos to grab a meal that is mouth watering and flavorful and for $7 less. If I'm in the area again and I'm hungry I'll give them another shot, but not spending over $15 here for overall ehh food. Picked this place to eat for a Friday night dinner last minute! The area (Oceanside Marketplace) is a small, but cute little area for a variety of shops and restaurants. If you run out of parking, there is actually an underground parking lot as well if needed. Walking in, the interior is simple, but fits the mood of the restaurant. It is more cafe style, where you order from the menu and sit down. I saw a lot of people put in to-go orders and some people dined in. The man at the front register didn't interact with us too much, but we could tell that everyone was working their butts off to get food out for everyone. We decided to sit outside because the inside was a little bit too warm for us. The atmosphere is suited for both couples and individuals. The place mats on the table made it seem more than just a cafe style atmosphere, which was a nice touch. I absolutely loved the jazz music that was playing. Although we said dine in, the guy mentioned that the staff accidentally put our food to go. Not a problem for us. We were actually shocked on how awesome the to-go containers were! It was compartmentalized and not just your average Styrofoam box. The food on the other hand was sooooo delicious. Savory, but not over seasoned. I know filet mignon and the taste is authentic and the plate with a salad, hummus, pita, and fragrant premium basmati rice for only about $14 is the best deal in the North County! This place is clean and has outdoor seating. They also have a nice selection of beers, featuring a tasty lager from Lebanon. The rest of the plates the serve are great from the chicken schwarma to the Kefta kabobs is all good here. The servings are great and presentation is delish. All items are fresh and hot when you order and all the the marinations are pitch perfect. I can't wait to go back and try another dish. Tellin' you guys there is no better spot to get a quality meal. The lamb gyro was extremely disappointing, severely lacking flavour and I almost broke a tooth biting into the meat. Somethings not right there. This could be because I got my food delivered but the pita bread was cold and beginning to harden, the fries were old, soggy, also cold. The hummus was decent but again, barely a taste to it. The dolmas were ok, I only tried one and the flavour was alright but I got the feeling that they've been waiting in the fridge for a while. I lost any urge to eat another. (Zero stars wasn't an option)... AND the WORST customer service i've ever experienced award goes to...Maan's Mediterranean Grill! I'm still in awe and disbelief of what just happened and had to let everyone know as soon as possible, so they don't have to experience what we did. We discovered it yesterday, and loved their salads, so decided to revisit tonight for dinner- I ordered take out (terrible decision on my part). Ordered two chicken salads, and a side of fries. Very simple order. Get home, and my husband is enjoying his salad until he pulls out a GIANT piece of PLASTIC WRAP. THEN, a second one... I'm upset, and so he is. I call the woman and tell her there is plastic in the salad- and she seems extremely confused as to what "type" of plastic is could possibly be, and continues to question me for about a minute or two. Very rude, passive aggressive, all the while being EXTREMELY unsympathetic of the situation. Then, she asks ME to drive down to SHOW her the plastic so she can identify it?? SO, we decide to take our time to drive back to the restaurant and show her in person (since we figure this is the right thing to do)... We walked in and showed it the woman. My husband tried used humor to lighten the situation a bit and to give them the opportunity to apologize. She laughed with him, and even ADMITTED it was plastic from their chicken! But, with a stern face, and ZERO APOLOGY. So at this point i'm assuming we can just get our money back, and hope they let their cooks know about the plastic. I said to her "We would like our money back" and she says to us "Well, I give you a discount." I said to her "Are you KIDDING me?! There was two pieces of PLASTIC in the CHICKEN!" She says to me "Well, you ate some of it"... Again, I said "You're kidding, right? That salad costs you what, $4 to make, at most?".... She then says "Ok.Ok. Fine" and slowly, with an almost painful look on her face, retrieves the cash from the register. At this point, we were so upset, that we just told them to Keep the money and walked out of the restaurant. She of course was chasing after us begging us to take the money back.. knowing she was in the wrong (of course, after the fact). I'm sorry but... what in the flying F**!? The owners/employees/rude woman working could obviously care less about uphold their reputation and maintaining Customer Loyalty. How is it reasonable to sell a chicken salad with plastic in it, and not apologize and make the situation RIGHT. Apparently making $4 is more important to them. Great way for a business to begin it's Tanking to Failure.... They can keep their $9- I mean, $10, Plastic Wrap Chicken Salads. The wife was craving Mediterranean saturday night so we came in around 8, an hour before they close. We really like this place! You can't go wrong with their Maans special! It comes with really tasty marinated chicken, mediterranean pickles and a sauce that tastes like mayo, wrapped in a pita/tortilla bread. It's a good portion; I'd say its about equivalent to a carne asada burrito! It also comes with French fries, a small greek salad and hummus. I have so many good things to say about Maan's Mediterranean Grill. I am half Persian half Greek and new to the area, so I needed a spot to go when I have my cravings (I get them a lot.) I've tried a couple locations but nothing compared to here. Once you get your delicious order, you will notice that their rice is WAY more flavorful and better quality than other places. They are usually busy (I'm not surprised), so don't let that surprise you! Wait is definitely worth I really enjoy the location, and when you go inside, it is small but cozy. The cooking area is visible which I love. The food is cooked in authentic ways rather than "Americanized"'places. I highly recommend Maan's when you want a quick Mediterranean bite! Not totally impressed with food Customer service- while I was on the phone giving my order he was talking to someone else... and I was confused if he was talking to me or not I went with standard Greek food staples Falafels and chicken Greek salad The falafels were like little dense cakes. Although with good flavor very dense and the sauces with it weren't good in my opinion Salad- the chicken seemed like it wasn't totally freshly grilled.
