I'm sure it was near closing time and everyone was ready to wrap up but when I asked if they were still open they greeted me with smiles, friendly banter and enthusiasm, which in my opinion is really lacking in a lot of these "businesses". I didn't want to be up-all something or treated like a number. Having been in the restaurant business for all of college, I understand the feeling of someone walking in right before closing and to be treated like a guest rather than a customer was really awesome.
