I ordered chicken pot pie. They called & said they were out. I wanted crab, shrimp & bacon pasta. They said it wasn't on the menu anymore. Obviously I ordered it from the menu. I ended up ordering French pot roast. It was great and ready when I got there to pick it up. Very tasty. I recommend it. My wife enjoyed her French quarter burger. They always pull through! I've been a long time patron of Mimi's going back over 20 years. Their menu has gone through various changes over the years but I'm glad to see they have resisted the over-modernization that many chains have become subject to. Most of their meals are classics done right, the old fashioned way, as they should be. The Moreno Valley location specifically has great service and is always quiet and clean. When it comes to the food, they certainly deliver with great sit down dining delivered quickly and at a good value. Although they don't give the carrot bread in the free bread basket anymore, the sourdough and real butter is still exceptional. I typically don't give 5 stars to chain restaurants but it has been so difficult to find sit-down restaurants with high quality with good value now days, I had to grade on a curve. read more

Located on the corner of Day St. and Campus Pkwy. with plenty of parking. We've enjoyed Mimi's for many years now and continue having a good experience at this location. The restaurant is clean and organized with a full-sized bar and an outside seating set-up (although I've never seen customers dining outside). On this past visit, I tried their 'Jambalaya' served over rice. It was really tasty and fresh. We added 'Six Carrot Raisin Nut Madeleines' to our bread basket which was a great idea. Their menu consists of 'Burgers, Sandwiches, Salads, Steaks, Salmon, Chicken Pot-Pie, Pasta, Soups, All-Day Breakfast, and more'. Prices are fair and portions are generous. Service was great. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Shout out to our server, 'Maria' who was super attentive and made sure we had a positive dinner experience. Service was extremely disappointing. We were the first table seated but somehow the last table to be served. One of the main reasons we chose this place was for espresso, but unfortunately the espresso machine was broken again. We had visited about four months ago and it was broken then as well, so we assumed it would have been fixed by now. Our kids' meals came out first, but the server walked away without offering straws, napkins, or condiments. When the rest of our order finally arrived, it was incorrect. We had to ask three separate times just to get basic condiments. Our coffee also ran out and no one checked back on us. We informed the manager, but the only thing that was corrected was the incorrect order. Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any worse, our credit card was mistakenly used to charge another table's meal. We then had to wait even longer for them to reverse the charge and fix the mistake. Our waitress was friendly, but it seemed like she was overwhelmed and struggled to manage more than one table at a time. Overall, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Unless you really enjoy waiting or absolutely love the food here, I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

Everyone with reservations were told they had a 30 minute + wait. What was the point of reservations if you aren't seated at least within 5 minutes of arrival time. It was Mother's Day, we all agree it's going to be crazy crowded everywhere but our entire time spent up to waiting for our check was close to 5 hours; 30 min wait time to we got called to get seated; got a server asking us what we wanted to drink & bread appetizer within 20 minutes being seated; 30 minutes he finally came with drinks & didn't take our order; came back 45-50 minutes after we finished drinks & bread & finally took our orders; an hour & a 1/2 later is when we finally got our food & ordered more drinks - 30 min when they finally arrived & last, 30 min till we got check, boxed up deserts & waited for another box for my daughters food. I honestly if it wasn't for my daughters, would've left seeing the long line of people, flowing to outside area mainly because I'm still disabled dealing with knee still giving out but I didn't want to do that to them, they seemed really happy to do this for me and I would do it again but not this restaurant ever again. I love Mimi's but never go on the holidays especially Mother's Day. Mimi's Cafe franchises DO BETTER!
