We wanted to try a few things. Onion rings: perfectly crisp and salty Fries: great portion. Real potato. Sea salt. What more could you want? Pretzels: oh, the pretzels! The flavor is on point. The texture is perfect. The cheese sauce is lovely. Chicken and waffle: the piece of chicken was a generous size. It was perfectly cooked. The only downsize was that it was a tad salty. There are a two large tvs at the bar perfect for watching the game. The owner can be seen running food out to the customers. Try it out for yourself! What a great spot in Norton! Have been looking for a place that does a peanut butter burger so once I saw this place I knew we had to venture out here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Staff is super friendly. I was surprised to have such an amazing cocktail here- a passion fruit and pineapple margarita with a vanilla/lime sugar rim. WOW! My boyfriend built a burger that was delicious w peanut butter and bacon jam and jalapeños. The bacon jam is phenomenal. could go a bit lighter on the PB application on the bun. Enjoyable experience at Mac & Walt's. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu was very interesting and offered a variety of options. I thought the prices were very fair, especially for burgers and sandwiches. There were also interesting small plates and apps on the menu. We ordered the Cajun shrimp and the pretzels. The Cajun shrimp were very good, but I think the naming on them was a bit odd as they did not have a Cajun flavor to me. The pretzels and beer cheese were excellent. For my meal, I ordered a burger with fried onions and pickles, which also came with a maple glaze. The toppings on this burger were very good, although there was too much lettuce for my liking. The only thing keeping this from a five star review was how the burgers were cooked. It would have been an even more enjoyable meal if I had the choice on how it was cooked (rare, medium rare, etc). Came to this place on a whim. They had a small wait but I definitely would say it was worth the wait. I started off with the down east cider aloha blend which was delicious! And for an app we go the hot pretzels with both the cheese and mustard sauce! The pretzels were cooked just right and tasted similiar to German pretzels. I would go with the mustard if you like a true German mustard or the cheese for a more simple deliciousness. For dinner I got the bacon cheeseburger with a 1/2 order of fries and my husband got the bacon cheeseburger with a duck egg on top! He said he's never tried one so he had to give it a GO. He got sweet potato fries. As a burger and fry lover I absolutely loved them both! The maple bacon that they used was full of so much flavor and you could just tell the French fries were fresh and cooked to perfect crispness. Started with nachos with guac; delicious and we could have made a meal out of just that. She had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries, I had the southwest rice bowl with a side of corn bread; we were too full to eat much of our entrees but happily brought them home for some delicious leftovers. It was fine. The burger was really good - a really thin hand formed burger cooked on a flat top. I was a little surprised by the size of it (just being such a thin patty). I hate to make the comparison, but it reminds me of a five guys burger (which I really enjoy). Given how busy it always is, and all the hype - I honestly thought it fell short. Bread is soft and toppings were fine, just probably needed two of them. Fries were a little under done/underwhelming. The onion rings were good - but just not what I had hoped for. Dusted more in a cornmeal type batter than a beer batter. Good place to go with kids. I'll be back, if I'm craving a burger. But maybe will order two. Staff is very friendly and had sox and masters on the tvs. Onion rings are excellent - on the thin side but not quite strings. I had the special bison burger $12 and it was great. Fresh squeezed juices and lots of southern options. The space is super clean, open and bright. It is sorta loud due to chalet cathedral type ceiling. We stopped by this place for lunch before visiting the animal sanctuary nearby. The restaurant is clean and smells like freshly cut wood, as the decor resembles a cabin. We ordered the onion rings as a starter. They were pretty good, could've used some more seasoning. The ranch dipping sauce that came with it was addictively great though. My husband got the burger with pimento Mac and cheese. He said it tasted very good, and that the pimento flavor shined through. I didn't try it, but I liked that the burger was on the thin side. We're not fans of baseball shaped hunks of burgers. I had the shrimp and grits because I love it when I'm traveling down south for work, and it's so hard to find it on menus up here. And boy, it did not disappoint! The shrimp were plentiful and tasted fresh. The peppers, onions and celery were cooked perfectly and the sauce was just spicy enough. The Tasso ham was a welcome tasty addition. And those cheesy grits brought me right back to Charleston- perfect. I am a bit conflicted about this establishment. The space is decorated lovely, but it is small and something about it feels off-this bar should be in a restored barn, rather than where it is. They have whiskey flights and I love scotch (I ordered the Great Scot! and it included 3 very generous pours of great spirits), but it isn't a space I want to sit in for hours sipping whiskey. The food was good, but it is odd that the waitress didn't ask us how we wanted our burgers. We would've liked our burgers more rare, especially since the beef was reported to be fresh from a farm in Maine. Also, the soft pretzels tasted fine, but they weren't really pretzel (they didn't have the brown outer crust). We called ahead and only had to wait about 15 minutes (and this was a Wednesday). unlike most restaurants, mac & walt's allows you to view current wait times via yelp and reserve your table ahead of time. at 6:30pm on a friday night, the wait for a table was up to 72 minutes, and when we arrived, we could see why. the interior is wicked small, but warm and rustic, and even though every seat in the house was taken, it didn't feel cramped or crowded. because we had put our names in ahead of time, my husband and i only waited a few minutes before we were seated. the drinks we ordered were phenomenal (they have this whiskey sweet tea that was OUT OF THIS WORLD) and the food could not have been more satisfying. between the soft pretzels with warm cheese, the stellar veggie tacos, and the blackbean burger with sweet potatoes fries, we were more than sold. i'm already dreaming of our next visit! read more

We were in the area doing some furniture shopping and found that this place was local. It had pretty good reviews and you typically can't go wrong with a burger. The wait to eat was absurdly long - we arrived at around 6 and didn't eat until around 8:30. I am not sure why it took so long in general since the menu doesn't have crazy complicated items on it. I ordered the hunka burning love and was told they could not make it because they had run out of bananas - I was really hoping to try it. I ordered the classic with cheese and it satiated my hunger.
