Pleased When we tried this place, we weren't sure what to expect. Usually a conceptual restaurant tends to be lame, this one breaks the mold. This is bourbon based bar with quality comfort food. The selection of bourbons are quite impressive. They also have a pretty nice craft beer selection too. Really cute place! It's pretty small and can get very crowded, but worth the wait. You can put your name on the wait list in advance, which is nice. The place definitely has a southern, comfort foods vibe. It's beautifully themed and furnished with wood panels, industrial styles chairs and lighting, beams on the ceiling , and bourbon barrels. The bar's focus is their large bourbon selection. While here, I did not try the bourbon, but I did indulge in the Baby Got Mac burger. It was equal parts unhealthy and delicious. This thing is piled high with candied bacon and onion rings, and sandwiches between layers of Mac and cheese. The menu says it comes on Mac and cheese buns, but it was definitely more of a loose Mac and cheese. There's no way you can pick it up and hold it. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it. The other person in my party had the shrimp po boy. He really liked his, also. You do have to order fries separately. I went with the sweet potato fries. Nice and crispy, and very yummy. He had the regular fries. They were hand cut, and tasted very fresh. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu! read more

Very good restaurant with great systems in place. Service was excellent as was the menu selection and the checkout phase of paying the bill was quick. It's evident the owners put a lot of thought into the buildout of the menu, the branding and the entire concept of this place. Burgers, fries, rings and sandwiches were all well prepared with quality ingredients. Ticket time on our order was quick as well. Only area of improvement is on the salad. Stopped here on the recommendation of a friend. Local breweries on tap (which I love) and fun menu items. Not many places in the area that have poutine (let alone GOOD poutine) on the menu. I got the Walt burger with a very tasty maple sauce on it. Hubby got the spicy chicken sandwich with pickles. Both were tasty. One downfall is that you have to purchase fries separately. Why? Instead of charging $9.50 for a burger and $2.50 for fries just make the meal $12-$13 dollars. I don't really like al a cart but certainly not at a pub. This place is hoppin'' Thursday evening 5:30 there was a 15-20 minute wait for a table for 2 we were the only ones waiting for like 5 minutes, that quickly changed! Waiting area was full with eager patrons. We were seated and attended to super fast our waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful with suggestions. I ordered half PB&J and half Korean BBQ Chicken Wings the wings were on the small side, but tasty. I really enjoyed the PB&J wings actually more than I thought I would've. Just one dipping sauce Ranch, I believe; which didn't go well with the PB&J wings I would've loved to see a pepper jelly based dipping sauce for those wings. I also ordered the cheesy grits which are extremely cheesy by the way, like really, really cheesy! Not much flavor other than cheese but they were good, cause I love cheese!!! I just wish they came out hot not room temperature. I'll definitely be back to try some other yummy things off their menu. If you like whiskey then this is your kinda place they have several varieties and flights I'm not a fan of dark liquor myself but this place seems like aa great spot for someone who does. We've been coming to Mac & Walt's since they opened a few years ago. Their burgers are excellent and I've been known to go for the Baby Got Mac every time. A burger sandwiched between fried Mac & cheese, topped with onion rings & a delicious cheese sauce. It's as yummy as it sounds. They have such a great rotation of beers on tap. It was a really nice day so we decided to take a road trip to Mac & Walt's in Norton. It was well worth it!! The bourbon and beer selection was impressive. We started with a selection of beers and the pretzel snack. Then we moved onto burgers and the fried chicken & waffle. My last review of Mac & Walt's was not very flattering. However, someone from the restaurant contacted me very soon after I posted and was extremely professional and nice about my review so I decided I'd give them another try soon. Well, we were in Norton again this weekend to visit our daughter and some of my wife's family from the area suggested we try M&W's since they've never been. Sounded like a great time to give them another try. We called ahead since we were a large group and the woman who answered the telephone was very nice and gave us what turned out to be a very realistic time they'd be able to seat us. We sat down and were happy with the beer menu that gave a wide selection, a nice description of the beers and listed their abv. It was nice to see that they included beers from the local breweries! Everyone at the table that ordered a beer was happy with their selection. The waitress told us the specials, one of which was a burger with bacon, sweet potato fries and a pumpkin aioli. I'm not a big fan of pumpkin (never a pumpkin latte!), but it sounded interesting so I asked if we could try the aioli before we ordered. She brought us a taste and it was very good. Not sweet at all and had a nice kick from the chipotle in it. One burger ordered. We also got buffalo wings and Korean BBQ wings. The wings came and both were excellent. The wings were a nice size and meaty. The sauces were excellent. Next came the burger. The burger special had a lot on it - the bacon, the sweet potato fries and the aioli. I'm happy to say, it all worked. And worked very well! The burger was tasty and juicy. I'm also glad to say that it did not fall apart on me. Throughout the meal the service was excellent. we found mac & walts when we wanted to grab a late lunch before heading to a concert in mansfield. at 2pm on a friday, we were surprised at how busy it was. the parking lot was packed and when we stepped inside, the bar was full & tables were occupied with happy diners. it was a gorgeous day, so we chose to sit outside, but the inside looked updated and really nice. the covered tent outside had music playing, string lights hanging and even a cute lounge area. service was quick and friendly & drinks were great. i loved that my sangria was served in a pineapple vase. we had the fried pickles to start. they weren't overly breaded and the chipotle dipping sauce was different and delicious. we had the southern special burger (pimento cheese, bacon jam, jalapeños) and a classic bacon cheeseburger with special sauce. their burgers don't come with a side, so we added a side of sweet potato fries and hand cut fries. we were both super happy with our food - it was really tasty. mac & walts is a solid 4.5, but i'm rounding up because i feel like a 4 would be doing them a disservice. I really can't find much to knock - we'd definitely return if in the area again! read more

I went here based on some recommendations for their burgers, and they did NOT disappoint. I ordered a couple of burgers and we enjoyed both of them tremendously not only for their unique flavor(s), but also for their style and presentation. The "Hunka Burnin Love" was a great surprise as I first thought that this Elvis-inspired burger would be something I would not like based on the toppings. I was proven wrong as it was great! I also tried the "Baby Got Mac" burger and that too, proved all it stated it would be, including the MESS it made on the plate as it fell apart and we needed a knife and fork to complete the burger. In essence, both burgers were stupendous and we hope to try other 'off the wall' burgers, as well as other offerings, in the near future. Bravo!! read more

They have a big drink menu so I'd probably try something else next time. They have flights of beer and whiskey which is nice. The food was alright. We had a 1/2 order or sweet potato fries and onion rings which were good, big portions. I had two fish tacos, they were alright on a corn tortilla with chipolte sauce and pico, the fish were pretty small portions and a little chewy. My partner had a ceasar salad with shrimp on it, she said the salad was underwhelming. The food was underwhelming but the atmosphere and drink menu were great. I'd like to try again or even just go for drinks and apps. **On our second visit we were so happy with our food, it was absolutely delicious. I had the black bean burger and it was beyond expectations, usually restaurant bean burgers aren't that good, but this was one of the best I've ever had. I've been all across Canada and the poutine style fries are really good too! My boyfriend ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were cooked perfectly. Service was excellent, quick, and friendly. They have a large menu; not much for vegan options other than the black bean burger. Four of us stopped in on a Saturday afternoon before brewery stops. Even though the parking lot was full, we were able to get a table. I'm a Manhattan fan and decided to go with their Manhattan and enjoyed it. They had a good draft beer list as well. We started with the fried pickles and the poutine and it was a thumbs up from all on both.
