One of my best experiences in going out with my Foxboro riding family. For our Tuesday night dinners. There was not a long wait we were seated within two minutes walking in the door everything was already for us. They had no problem accommodating our party of about 24/25 people. One waitress took all of our orders in succession everybody was served just like the sweep of a clock hand from the first seating to the last. The food came out promptly it was very good tasty the burgers were juicy cooked exactly the way you asked medium rare even though they were a smash type burger they were cooked medium- rare liked asked. Everyone's got their information just the way they liked. I can only comment on mine I got the Walt Burger it was a burger with fried pickles onion rings a bourbon barbecue sauce on the side and blue cheese crumbles. I got mine with a half order of sweet potato fries and everything was exceptional. The other folks around me got their burgers like what they got some people got chicken and waffles some people got grits some people got mac & cheese it was a very big variety there was two sides to the menu so there wasn't anything you couldn't find if you were looking for it. They had a large selection as they advertise of small Bourbons they had a great selection of craft beers etc. looking forward to taking my honey back there for dinner one night or for lunch. A friend of ours works there but he was just Slammin so I only got to see him for like a couple of minutes. I also got a homemade cornbread with honey whip butter to go when I got home it was two large pieces of cornbread probably 3 x 3 x 2. It was only four dollars it was amazing. They have a great menu and offer online ordering and curbside pick up. The meals we ordered were great but one complaint was the long wait time an lack of communication from business to customer. A 30 minute order took over an hour to be delivered. I'm not sure if they just didn't the order come in or if they were short staffed but that couldn't definitely use some improvement. I would like to give this establishment a second chance when indoor seating is a legit option again. read more

Came for dinner. We started with the buffalo chicken egg rolls. They were ok. The blue cheese dressing that was on the side was very warm so that grossed me out a bit. I got the Kobe burger, and my husband got the Mac burger and we had fries and onion rings. We both really enjoyed the fries and rings. My burger was incredibly bland. It needed some salt and pepper or something. It was also falling apart and I had to eat the pieces of burger with a fork. The Mac and cheese buns on my husbands burger were very odd. We wanted to try something new to us for lunch this week so we stopped into Mac and Walt's. It's a small place, but we got right in and had no trouble parking. We started with wings (peanut butter and jelly) (buffalo), a side salad and peppers. The peppers were bland and oily, but the wings were a hit! For lunch I got the black bean burger - build your own, and my fiancé got the baby got Mac burger. When they say you need a fork and knife to eat the baby got Mac - they are not joking. It's huge and smothered in cheese! Lots of options for the build your own burger as well. The only thing I didn't care for was they up charge you for fries where most places automatically provide fries with a burger, also some of the burger toppings are pricy in my opinion. Saw this establishment on Phantom and since it was close to home we finally decided to try it. A Saturday night probably wasn't the best night as far as waiting but what place isn't hard to get seating. The wait was 30-45 mins. While we waited I check out one of the three bathrooms! The individual bathrooms had cute artwork and was very clean. The restaurant is not huge only 5 booths and 5 tables. The prize seating is at the long bar! Our server David was friendly, fun and professional. The menu has great appetizer choices, burgers and awesome French fry options. I had a craving for nachos so we had a half order for the table. Delicious cheese sauce, black beans and chili. There are great other topping too but I don't do peppers or tomatoes. The full order of hand cut fries were so satisfying. The rosemary and caramelized onion chicken wings tasted like they straight from my kitchen. We had Cajun shrimp that wasn't all the Cajun according my son and the chicken sandwich was nice and crispy. I wanted to come here for years and finally made it! The food: I got a burger and the wife had the Mac and cheese. The burger was fine, not going to blow you away but a solid burger. The Mac and cheese was bland. Just something you could whip up at home real quick. We also had deserts, blueberry pie and a brownie, both were good. The wings were cooked well done as we asked and meaty but I wanted to bite in and taste that garlic. Not the case. (Honestly this is why I didn't give them 5 stars.) There was a long wait for the actual meal to arrive and the place was doing well on a Wednesday night but not totally packed. My baby got Mac arrived and I dug in! Obviously this is a fork meal. So here's what it is: Macaroni and cheese patty's (with onion rings on top) with a hamburger inside adorned by extra crispy bacon SMOTHERED in ale cheese. OVERALL WIN! My goal was that every bite I devoured ale sauce was in it. When I do it again I am just going to break it up and mix it all together (I watched a guy after me do this and honestly this is a win- so many flavors in each bite!) The cheese was just delicious but I have to say the all star here- they cooked the bacon the exact way I like it- crunch and flavorful but not burnt. Seriously yelpers- 5 star burger here. Sat at bar 6:45pm on Saturday night, given a menu then ignored for about 20+ min until another person asked us if we were being helped and took our drink order. Ordered food, it came out wrong. Wasn't the bar tenders fault. She sent it back and the "corrected" order came back out 3 min later which was the same messed up order in the first place that they picked through in attempt to fix it, it was sneaky of them. It still tasted gross. I ended up paying 47$ for two drinks and app before leaving, I was pissed. If the food is made wrong don't scrape the shit off and pass it back it back to the customer. My husband and I have been here a few times, starting during Covid-19. We alway choose outdoor seating under their tent. The service is wonderful every time and the food is very consistent! I ordered curbside pickup through the link on yelp. I like how convenient that is. What I didn't like was that the site never told you how long it would take until after you paid. It was an hour for our food which I didn't mind but I would have liked the option of knowing before I paid because if I didn't have time to wait that long I would have had to call and cancel our order. Now for the food... For my daughter I ordered the kid's mac and cheese which came with fries. The fries are great, a lot like Five Guys fries. The mac and cheese was good as well, more of a buttery flavor than cheese but it was good that way. For myself I ordered the chicken sandwich and the chicken was very good. Crispy, nice batter, lots of lettuce and mayo just the way I like it. The bun did get very soggy by the time I was almost finished but I waited a little while to start eating it so just keep that in mind. I ordered the pen and pasture burger for my boyfriend which is a burger with pulled pork and ordered the slaw on the side. What we got was just a cheeseburger with mustard on it and some spicy radish and peppers maybe? It was in place of the slaw on the side I guess. Maybe they mixed up someone else's order with ours. It was disappointing to not get what we ordered but after waiting an hour he was too hungry to wait for another burger to be made. He ate it and kept raving about how amazing the burger was so I can't complain too much! One thing that I assumed is that any burger that costs over $10 should come with fries but sadly the only meal that did was my daughter's mac and cheese. I would have ordered fries if I had known because they were the highlight of my meal. Still pretty pricey for sandwiches and burgers that don't come with anything. With that said I would come here again because the food was great but I would order differently and be prepared to wait a while for food if it's during a busy time. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed! I got take out and ordered the southern style burger and the shrimp po boy. I was worried that the food would be soggy and not hold well for take out. I was glad I was wrong! The gf bun held up nicely to the delicious pimento cheese and bacon jam. It was one of those burgers that is meant for indulgence and truly comfort food. My partner loved the po boy and the shrimp seemed to maintain its fry well and the bun held up. The food was great! I walked in hungry and I was most definitely satisfied when I left with left overs to boot! The atmosphere was very relaxed but not noisy and it was very clean. My friend and I had a great dinner. She has been there before and raved about the chicken and waffles. She ordered a shrimp po-boy and was very pleased with her choice. Food was only okay. My choices have been nothing to rave about. Side orders/appetizers we chose were not very big portions. Just basic burgers and booze. I've been there 3 times. Won't be giving them any more business. 2nd & 3rd times service was not great. Third time we went a little off hours, so it wasn't busy but we could not get our waitresses attention for the condiment we wanted and the meal ended up being not to our liking and it was very frustrating. My goodness me. I've been following max and Walt's and phantom gourmet's unwavering promotion of their provisions for some time. So naturally I was so so so sad to have to write a "I was disappointed" type of review... but here it is. I was so utterly disappointed in the one thing they never stop adverts for - THE BURGER. Maybe I'm a bit biased but I absolutely haaaaate Bulkie rolls. Beach side sandwiches (that probably have sand in them) are really my only acceptable use of the said bread... or letting get stale so we can make crutons.I digress.. just a crappy vehicle for the burger and its said toppings - I had the smothered burger - which sounded good but not much different than their original preparations. Soggy, whoever chopped it, gave it a sliver for a bottom and a huge top so the burger bottomed out long before I could finish. It was a juicy burger but nothing special. Not a pub style burger by any means. The sweet potato fries and onion rings we had were nicely done, but again nothing special. The decor is a rustic like whisky tavern almost - and they have an impressive (100s) list of whiskeys/bourbons/scotches that would interest the most discerning aficionados. The tap list is also long - but of course I wanted something they didn't have. A Blue moon - Nope don't have it... ok how about shock top? nope. Ok anything similar? in the same family? Belgian wheat? Nothing... but I was offered a can of the Springdale Early wit beer. A $12 investment but it was actually quite nice and refreshing. A tad more hoppy but still delicious. Sadly our waiter though he was nice enough didn't have enough menu knowledge and didn't offer to refill our drinks. When we ordered a ginger ale - it was so flat and gross, no harm no foul but the amount of time it took him to come back and take our food order was so long we almost forgot to ask about it we were so hungry. I went out of my way to give this place a most eager try and sadly I can't see myself returning. As a lover of a quality burger I am so very sad. read more
