I made an appointment and came in for a dip powder set, and yet the lady who did my nail was still rushing and talking about me in Vietnamese, and Hanna, I understood everything. She was commenting unnecessary things like how I should hurry up and make my mind and I should be charged more than the initial price. Do yourself a favor and don't come here ladies. read more

This place is so wonderful! The staff is kind, attentive and really knowledgeable about their stuff. I came here with a friend for his FIRST EVER MANICURE! He was full of questions going into it and the staff was extremely accommodating and even changed the manicure around to suit his preferences! Although they were really busy, we felt like we were their main priority. They have a vast color selection and their chairs are extremely cute and comfortable! Generally, the quality of the work at this salon is very good; the technicians are meticulous and often triple-check to make you're satisfied. Even now, I'm very happy with the way my pedicure looks. However, I've deducted stars because my service experience today was off: First, the foot bath was accidentally filled with ice cold water--unexpected and a little jarring, but easy to fix. Later, the hot stone they use for massage was heated so much that it burned my skin; I yelped and have a small red patch where it happened. The technician was very apologetic (an honest mistake), but she was so thrown she did not actually finish my massage. Then, after my nails were painted, they had me walk barefoot across the salon floor to the nail drying station. I guess they ran out of disposable sandals? Lastly, the mini snickers bar I grabbed from the candy bowl was so old it had turned white. Maybe I was just really unlucky today. Anyway, I suggest bringing your own flip flops, and having your technicians check the temperature of the hot stone before its applied. They do great work, but I may try another salon next time. read more

Mac Nail Spa is my new favorite neighborhood spot! For years I was going to Divisadero nails which is closer to my home, and although convenient I was never as happy as I am when I leave Mac! The ambience is very relaxing, and luxurious and the ladies here are so sweet! If you are looking to pamper yourself definitely come here. They serve you tea in a mini pot and the music is also very nice. I usually get a gel manicure and a regular pedi, and they do such a great job! The pedicure that I get also includes a massage with hot stones, which is amazing. My last gel manicure lasted almost 3 weeks! The prices are also very reasonable and in comparable to other places , for the two services I get it's usually $60 which is less than I have paid in salons that don't even match the quality service you'll get here. Moral of the story: try them and thank me later! read more

Updating my review on Mac Nail Spa. Was reached out by Mac's amazing owner, Stephanie who was incredibly responsive to my previous Yelp review on my experience of getting a shellac manicure and being quite disappointed that day. Came back today and that experience was totally turned around the other way to make it up for me. Stephanie wasn't present in the shop at the time, but the nail techs that day were aware of my arrival after I had communicated with Stephanie through Yelp messaging to give it another shot. Incredibly glad I did, as the service this time around was much better and felt like a lot more careful time was put towards my service. I came around 4:30pm on a Wednesday, the shop was fairly empty with one other customer (also coincidentally from Toronto!) though as time went on, there were many sidewalk walk-ins and I left the shop while almost every seat was taken up. I had two technicians working on my nails this time as I got both a pedicure and manicure done! Both were incredibly kind and patient with me. A few minor nail smudges here and there while the shellac pedicure was done, and the manicure application seemed a lot thicker than most I've received in the past, but aside from that the service from the staff went above and beyond. Extra kudos to Queenie who was a sweetheart and even helped me put on my shoes upon leaving and wanted to reassure me if I had any complaints about my nails that she'd be happy to book another appointment to get it right. I am so happy that I happened to walk by this salon after brunch with a friend. The inside is adorable and clean, they have an endless amount of color options and they do dip!! I showed a picture of a new nail style that I was considering and Ngan beat my expectations and even added a cute rhinestone design. I am obsessed with them. My girlfriends and I came across this little gem during our visit to the city. We had originally planned for a spa day, but things fell through so we opted for mani-pedis. Upon arrival, we were all so pleased and admired the modern look of the salon. They had TONS of OPI and Essie polishes!! Everyone there was incredibly kind and made no fuss about having 5 girls walk in. They even prepared tea in individual tea pots for us to sip on as we got pampered! The services here are on the pricier side though. I paid $58.50 without tip for a shellac mani and regular pedi. They had a special going on at the time, $40 for a regular mani and pedi, which was what some of my girlfriends did. Overall, we loved the hospitality here and would definitely recommend!! read more

This salon is the best nail spot in the neighborhood by far. The staff are friendly and extremely talented, plus the space and service go that extra mile to make it special. I originally scheduled a gel mani and pedi for a Thursday but then Wednesday at 6:20pm I called to ask if I could come in that night, a day earlier than my appointment, and they closed soon at 7:30pm. They were totally accommodating. I even got there a little late and it was no problem. Stephanie helped Phuong and Hoa on my hands and toes. They were helping me prep for engagement photoshoot this weekend and so they got excited and invested in making my nails perfect for the shoot. Hoa paid incredible attention to detail with my toes. Phuong also did like the best gel manicure I've ever had probably. They both great massages and the nail results speak for themselves. I had high hopes for this place because it looked so cute on Yelp, but my overall experience was pretty average. The lady doing our manicures worked really fast, which was both good and bad. I was surprised at how quickly she finished my friends mani and moved onto mine, but after she finished we could tell she wasn't wasn't very precise.. both our manicures had some air bubbles and uneven coating. She also stabbed me twice on accident because she was moving so quickly. I was pretty pleased with my pedicure, but I don't feel like they did a great job with the full on pedicure service that I'm used to from other places. After we were finished, they moved us to a drying station but kind of just forgot that we were there and ignored us as we were trying to get ready to leave. Don't get me wrong, the staff here was friendly and it's a cute little shop but we left feeling pretty meh about our overall experience. I get that this review is nitpicky but I think that for the price, I expected more. read more

If there was 6/5 stars to give, this would be the first place I'd give it to. Never before have I been blown away by a nail salon. I felt 110% comfortable with everything, and the nail artists couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. They made sure my tea was always filled, they had a smile on their face, and my nails came out perfectly. All details were given attention and it really showed. I booked an appointment to get my acrylic nails soaked off about two weeks ago. So, I called and made sure that they offered the service to which the lady said that they did. However, when I went to get them removed, she yanked them off my nails and charged me $40.00 for it!!! It was extremely painful and my nails are still damaged to this day. In hindsight, I should have just had it removed at home. It was an extremely disappointing experience. and I definitely wouldn't go here again! read more

i think it's over priced, i payed 80$ for a dip powder nail extension plus a minor design. the design is poorly done, i could have done so much better, and i even showed a picture of what design i wanted and it looks nothing like it. the shape of my nails are distorted, she didn't file them down well, she didn't even clean my cuticles of around my nails, the shape of them is bulky and uneven. very disappointed. read more

Pros: The customer service is great and they are extremely accommodating and friendly. My pedicure was excellent and I was extremely relaxed the entire time. Cons: My gel manicure was horrible. While removing my old gel manicure, I felt like they scraped off the entire top layer of my nail bed. My nails are now weak and breaking. The polish is bumpy and not smooth. I've never seen a gel manicure this bad. They offered me a drink, which was nice, but the champagne glass that my water was in did not have a good smell. I gave them a low score because of the horrible gel manicure and the champagne glass. They should just give out bottled waters. read more
