Came in for a gel mani a while back and it turned out so nice. Everyone was super nice and my technician was very detailed orientated, which is a plus for me since I'm kind of picky. Color selection was huge so there was a lot to chose from. They even offered me complementary drinks which was awesome. Atmosphere was nice as well. My experience here with a gel removal and regular mani was just okay. The first woman who removed my gel filed my skin as well as my nails. The second woman who did the mani made two of my cuticles bleed when she was cleaning up my nails, and the polish itself was a little bit shoddy. To top it off, they almost made me Venmo the tip after paying with a card because I don't carry cash on me - sorry, I think it's just rude to ask people to pay tip with a different method; customers shouldn't have to go out of their way to help you avoid paying taxes on all of your earnings. Mac salon and staff are great, friendly, and attentive to the work they provide! Queenie is my main girl, but most of the other techs I have had the experience of working with, are just as good too. If you can, request Queenie for your mani/pedi needs. Most likely she will step in to get a client started, but if they are busy, she will help with painting too. I believe she is the store manager, since I know Stephanie is the salon owner. Affordable place as well, most gel pedi's are $40 and up. This is only $32-35, which is considered good for SF, especially when theres a top competitor down the street- Q Spa. But honestly, I've been to Q Spa and they are good, but I prefer Mac salon for the friendliness, amazing staff, and you even get tea/water/mango juice during your service. Just an all around great spot. They will even "fix" your nails if you come in within a week of your service to correct any flaws/chips/ or re-do without ANY hesitation. It is a small spa (with only 4 spa chairs and a small area for manicures) so do book an apt to ensure your in! But they are great at getting you in and out even with walk-ins, depends on time of day. Highly recommend Mac Nail Spa and staff :) Only reason I didn't give 5 star is because they don't do anything other than basic polish and gel, which is fine for my needs but I know Dip Powder and Acrylic are pretty popular, but are not done at this salon for those who are wondering. :) GO MAC! read more

The salon is lovely and clean inside and the team that runs the front desk is great. Unfortunately the manicure I received was by far the worst I've ever gotten. It chipped the very next day. My cuticles were not taken care of and my hands look worse than when I went in. I tried to contact them on the website and the contact link threw errors. Then I emailed the manager at the address on the website and never heard back. I very much wanted this to be my new place but in reality I paid them to make look sloppy. read more

The Interior is luxurious and so clean , that alone gets 5 stars. I got a gel mani and reg pedi, they took their time and regularly assured me of the shape and color of my nails. This is one of the best nail salons I have been to in SF! They do an excellent job, have really great customer service, and one of the best color selections I have seen in a while. My gel manicures always last long. It is a on the smaller side, so recommend making an appointment when possible. What a great find this place was here in the city! My friend and I had originally had an appointment at another near by salon, but due to traffic and parking we had to cancel our reservation. We then called Mac Nail Spa to see about availability for two pedicures, they encouraged us to come. The ambiance of this place is fabulous! We were greeted by all of the ladies with warm and welcoming energy. The ladies took their time with us, did great work, gave us two tea pots of delicious green tea, talked with us, and took the time to get to know us. I added a star because the salon sent a nice message and it seems from the other reviews they do a nice gel manicure. I am a little sad and disappointed. Super cute place, the main lady was very gracious... I was really excited to try the powder dip manicure after seeing my girlfriend sport a 2 week old one in fairly good shape and how much her nails had grown. 45.00 for a powder dip manicure would be fantastic if it looked like my friend's. I got mine done Sunday afternoon, and 2 days later Tuesday afternoon 5 of the nails have major chipping as in the tips are missing entire pieces of acrylic. I would give the actually manicure 1 star but given the atmosphere and the nice lady upgraded the review to 3 stars hoping their gel manicures (which is not what I wanted)are better which is what my manicurist tried to talk me into getting instead of the powder dip manicure I specifically went there for. If she did that because she didn't know how to properly do the powder dip, I don't think she should be doing the powder dip manicures. :( read more

I walked in for a pedicure. Initially, the staff were very welcoming and nice. But I felt like my pedicure was subpar and very rushed. Also, I saw the staff offer tea to people around me but none to me. Was I not special enough for complimentary tea? After they moved me to the drying station, I was pretty much forgotten until I got up to leave. They advertise that they take credit cards but asked me for cash when I went up to pay. Wow this is the single best nail salon I've been to, period! Staff is nice, responsive, can do my mani pedi at the same time (a big thing for me since I want to save time), and they do simply a fantastic job! Aaand did I mention they do a little bit of hot stone massage on you if you get your pedi done?! Normally I don't mind going to Mac Nail Spa. It's a bit pricey, but close to my house and it gets the job done. Recently however, I got a gel manicure that I think cost way too much and was done poorly. I was charged an extra $20 for french instead of full polish gel which is more than I am normally charged but I agreed to it. My biggest gripe though was that my manicure was rushed. I know it's Covid and that times are very tough right now, but for a customer eager to support Mac, who called to make an appointment ahead of time, I am a bit unhappy. While working on my manicure, a few other folks walked in for services. There were only two technicians working at the time so they were rushing to meet the demand. Unfortunately I didn't notice until after I got home that the technician did not clean the edges before asking me to put my nails into the light. As a result, the gel had bonded to the skin near the nail bed on multiple fingers and was beginning to lift. Each hand wasn't under the light for the full time the timer was set to. This resulted in my pricey gel manicure beginning to ruin within a day of me getting my nails done. read more

If you are on a budget and just need a quick polish change this is your place. For me it was literally the worst pedicure I have had in my life. The nail tech barely touched my feet, did the least possible and then when it came to the massage...air flowing around my foot would have been more pressure than she was giving. Then when hot stones came out she only did my right leg and called it a day. The total time I was in the chair was 15 minutes tops. If you minus out the hot water soak the entire experience was done in 10 minutes, no offer to buff or polish just a thank you. read more

Upfront I will say that everyone at the salon was very nice. The problem I had was that they don't post prices anywhere so I was unpleasantly surprised when the bill for JUST a pedicure was $30. Had the service included a massage or special extras, I would have understood the price. But the overall experience was subpar (ok paint job, super stiff/uncomfortable chairs) so I would never typically pay that kind of price. read more
