Last week I took in two of my older Macs (a mid-2010 27" and a late-2015 21.5") and used them to trade in for a 2019 i5 27". I'm learning Logic Pro X and I needed a more updated system. Who knew a place like this even existed in Los Angeles? Yelpers, apparently - thank you! I went in with a variety of 1TB portable drives and my brand new 2017 15" MacBook Pro absolutely crazed after trying to find a way to transfer data from my old drives with 400FW outputs to either my new Mac or one of my new backup drives --- no one makes a converter (yet) for a 400 FW or 800 FW 9 pin to the new USB 3's! Long story short, Ray listened patiently, had a solution, and I now have my data! Problem solved! His associate, Sonja, was terrific too - CALM, helpful and professional. They were so great - like "go get some coffee and relax while it does the transfer", etc. Are you kidding? When and where does that happen in Los Angeles! They didn't even charge me. I went to get a ram upgrade on my 2017 21' imac. Which require to remove the screen. The person I talked to was very informative. The price for the labor was very decent! And the job was done in 4/5 hours. The result were great! You couldn't tell the computer was touch, witch it was what I was afraid of. I truly recommend them! read more

My macbook air screen just randomly stopped working brought it into the store when they were about close and was given an estimate the next day. I saw that this place had great yelp reviews and that is was Mac specific so I decided to give it a try. I had previously gone to a place that I felt was kind of shady and the technician wasn't super friendly so I decided to take my business elsewhere and I'm so glad I did! Ray was very inviting and helpful and took me without an appointment. I also did not have to pay an upfront fee for the diagnostic. It was free! My 2015 Macbook Pro was suffering from water damage and would not power back on. It was completely dead so I was a bit panicked because I didn't know if I would be able to retrieve my pictures. It took maybe 2-3 days for Ray's team to diagnose and an additional 2 days for them to fix it. It's back up and working like new and all of my documents were recovered. I paid about $300 for repairs. This team it great, I'd certainly return. The computer in question was a 2012 MBP with a skittish trackpad. Not only did they fix the issue in a day or so, but they replaced some of the worn keys, as a perk. I'd certainly recommend their work. Friendly, well priced, and covid-conscious. Awesome place. One MacBook Pro I have was losing power and another wasn't charging. I dropped them off early enough to have battery changed in same day. The other one, Ray knew exactly where to look on plug insert and removed a spec blocking connection. Now both computers work great. Great knowledge for repairs. read more

My first experience with MacPro-LA was in June 2015; I purchased an iMac and a MacBook Pro. They were so helpful that a day later, I took my iPhone 6 in for a screen repair. Two years later, my iMac and iPhone 6 are working great but like an idiot, ​I had my drink on the same desk as my MacBook Pro. I am sure you can see where this is going. Argh!!!! I took it to MacPro-LA for an estimate. The spill repair was half the cost of what I researched online and it was returned much faster than I expected. A week later, I went in last minute with a power adapter problem. Have an ancient laptop used for downloads/uploads 7 days a week for a subscription service. It went wild Sunday morning and I had a rough idea what was wrong. Got to MacPro next day when they opened on the dot and opted for the "$99 express service" because I was desperate lol. Was contacted within a few hours verifying my suspicions, agreed to the amount to address the issue and had it back 4:00 that afternoon. Outstanding! While in a rush at work, I accidentally dumped an entire glass of water on my brand new MacBook Air. My laptop isn't even paid off yet and I was terrified that it was toast! I immediately got on Yelp and looked for a place in the area that services Apple and found MacPro-LA. The reviews were plentiful, and they were all five stars, so I thought why not?! Ray assured me they get a lot computers in with water damage similar to mine and have been able to fix them, without losing much [if any!] memory at all. Within hours, I had an estimate and I gave him the go ahead. 24 hours later... my computer was fixed without issues, without memory loss and is perfect working condition. And thankfully, it all cost me a lot less than I had anticipated. I'm very happy to say Ray and his staff were very professional, courteous, called when they said they would and fixed my new laptop. Had the Genius Bar even been open, this still would have been 100x better. Installed the latest version of Catalina on my early 2015 Macbook pro and it completely spazzed out. Applications not working correctly, thousands of duplicate files showing up on the desktop. Luckily, I'd done a time machine backup on a 2012 external hard drive a few weeks before. Problem was that the time machine backup failed three times, and I'd already wiped the disk! Ray told me he'd do a free diagnostic and charge me a fraction of what Apple would have if he could fix it. If he couldn't fix it, he'd charge nothing. The next day, Ray had determined and fixed the problem. He also answered a # of other questions I had, free of charge. read more

They diagnosed my Mac book pro free of charge after I spilled water over its keyboard. Then they let me leave it at the shop to further dry out for 3 more days - and didn't charge any fee. Honestly when dealing with ANYTHING Apple it is refreshing to get straight-out no hype service. Really Refreshing! I've been using Apples for 30 years and will do ANYTHING to avoid The Apple Store. I am always asked for a Mac shop recommendation and no one I have sent to MacPro LA has had less than a great experience. I always advise new buyers to deal with a shop as opposed to the Craigslist approach because of after-sales service. Yesterday they replaced the screen on my daughter's MacBook Pro.
