As an individual who has done computer repair professionally, I would not recommend Advance Computer Corp. They have wasted my time and money. I was looking for a repair shop capable of doing SMD rework on Apple logic boards as I needed to have a sensor on a board replaced. So I called Advance Computer Corp to ask if they were able to do this type of work. The person who answered the phone stated that they probably could, but said they would have their mac technician give me a call back to confirm. The day goes by and never had any response. Reluctantly I still brought the machine in for repair and was assured that they would be able to perform the requested repair. The next day I received a phone call stating that they would not be able to perform the repair and would have to send the machine to a 3rd party repair shop. I then asked what the estimated cost of the repair was going to be and was shocked to find out that they wanted about 2x the market rate for the repair. After having declined the repair, it was surprising to also be charged with a "diagnostic fee". This is frustrating as I did not bring the machine here for a diagnostic, I was simply looking for an estimate on the board repair. My instructions were very specific with what I was asking for and explicitly told them the component on the board that needed to be replaced as I was not able to source the replacement part myself. Overall they had mislead and lied to me about their services, charging me money for services I did not ask for. read more

I have repaired my computer at this place three times. I had them re-solder my video Chip back onto the motherboard, replace my hard drive with a solid-state hard drive and most recently they re-soldered and reattached to the motherboard one of the fan seats. Every time I have use this company they have fixed the computer quickly and given me an excellent price on both parts and labor. I would and have recommended the store to my friends. It's not a fancy place. There are no frills and pretty things to look at like in the Mac store but they do good work and get the job done. I reside in Honolulu and my 2008 iMac 27 inch screen all of a sudden my screen went dark I could hear the beeps during restart but it was just dark. I took it to the Genius Bar at Apple Store in Ala Moana and they verified that the hard drive was fully functional but recommended that I take it to MacMadeEZ cause they fix computers. Genius Bar tech did a target disk and allowed me to remove key files that was still on my non working computer desktop. I called the MacMadeEZ kailua store and rushed over before they closed, that's went things went sour the butt head on the phone (refer to their yelp page I named him on their Yelp page) never told me after a certain date they don't repair the computer. The nice lady at the store put him under the bus and says he should have warned me before he rushed to punch out for the work day. So they never bothered to look at the computer at all like the Apple Store Genius Bar techs did and just was interested in selling me a new computer. Don't ever bother going to MacMadeEZ, staff is not customer service oriented and just interested in just making profits off a new computer sale. For this reason I gave MacMadeEZ a 1 star and the Apple Store a 3 star. Apple Store deserves a 5 star if they recommended someone more credible than MacMadeEZ. A couple of days later, I found a company by doing my own research on the Internet, it's run by Navid Solouk at Advance Computer Corp - Computer Palace (Mac Repair specielin California. Long story short 2 weeks later my computer is back on my desk fully functional. I highly recommend this company to all of you that could use their services. Please call first to verify on the phone your symptoms before you ship out your computer if you are from out of state. For people that live on Oahu, Hawaii, I highly recommend Ken at FedEx Kinko's on Queen Street to pack your computer he did an outstanding job, he opened a FedEx account for me so I could create my own shipping labels to send and return my computer from the California back to Hawaii. My 2012 MacBook Pro fell victim to a flying cocktail at a DJ gig. Things appeared to be ok at first, but then it started getting kernel panics when using the rear USB port and some devices wouldn't work at all or intermittently. I gave Advance a call and gave them the rundown. They were honest in their prognosis and conservatively advised me that they might be able to repair the liquid damage. I took my chance and 3 days business days later, they called me to ask for a repair approval. They had located the damaged parts on the logic board and reassured me they could fix it. I gave the green light and received a working computer 5 business days after I dropped off the mac. It's been 5 months since the repair and the computer has been working perfectly fine. The final cost was on the lower end of their quote so I couldn't be happier. I had checked around town at 3 other repairs shops beforehand, but have to say they came correct! read more
