Jose, one of the two chatty employees, replied with "oh we don't carry HP but we have a generic brand". So I asked Jose what aisle and he told me the chargers were on aisle 16. We walked over to aisle 16 which was all backpacks and binders. So we then walked back to the front to find Jose and told him he gave us the wrong aisle. His response was "uhh ohh ok I think then maybe Aisle 17?" So we walked to aisle 17 and alas, we found the charger! Funny enough, it was in fact a HP brand charger. Jose had stayed at the front to laugh and chat with his coworker instead of following us to assist. The charger was locked up so we then, again, had to walk back to fetch him to unlock the charger. Overall terrible experience. Hoping this review helps incentivize better employee training.

They did not have any Apple screens, so the person manning the counter assured me that the generic one is just as good. Sadly, once the screen was replaced, a bunch of things started to go wrong. My face recognition was only working on and off, so half of my apps weren't accessible. The phone started overheating, so it was constantly going into power save mode - dark screen. Battery life went from 83% on the day of repairs to under 50% within days. I went back there and asked for an Apple screen - I was willing to pay the difference. The clerk assured me that he will call me as soon as he gets them in (a few days). Long story short, we are past 30 day mark now and still no call. As a side note, I ended up going to another repair shot in WeHo. They ran some tests and told me that whoever "fixed" my phone was a butcher. Nothing aligned properly, so the phone wasn't even properly recognizing the screen. They took it out and properly replaced the screen with an Apple screen. And guess what?? I FINALLY got my phone back! Facial recognition works! No more overheating, so the screen is not permanently dark. And battery life is at 82% as of the time of this review. So do yourselves a favor, don't cut corners and go to a place that won't screw up your device. I sure learned my lesson.

Bravo! After reading the tons of other fine reviews, I had decided to travel many miles to get to Pro-La and buy a refurbished MacBookPro for my friend. Not minding the business hours on Sunday, I was hoping the store would have been opened by the time I had arrived, and Lo and Behold it was opened, but just barely, as I had just arrived in the nick of time just right before it was about to close. The guy (I believe Sean was his name) was about to close about one minute before I had arrived, but for some reason, did not close right on the 'button' that day. What impressed me the most out of this was that he did not say " Sorry, come back tomorrow"," though it would, of course, have been in his complete right to have done so. Nor did he rush me into buying just any computer. Instead, he took his time with me, and asked me relevant questions to getting the best quality computer possible. Towards the end of our meeting, he even voluntarily took the extra time to professionally test the hard drive to confirm that there were no defects in it whatsoever. These wonderful professionals are not only true business people, but they are genuinely people people as well! I truly wish this business manifold blessings in the future! This place is the embodiment of why small but mighty authorized Mac retailers are a great benefit to the world and community. Having had massive computer issues in the past, I was reluctant at first but taking my business here was a decision I have yet to regret. It's hard to put into words how awesomely fantastic MacPro-LA is **ALL** the time. I've purchased two refurbished Macs from here and they both still work amazingly well after more than 10 years! I also LOVE their repair policy: if you buy a computer from them, you can bring it in for repairs and you will ONLY be charged for parts (ZERO in labor). They continue to give great advice whenever I call with questions about MAC OS updates (and basically anything else). As a result, they've helped me better care for and preserve my computers. This is my second review. I am taking the time to write this review because I am a very happy client of MacPro-LA. I have been dealing with Ray the owner since he opened...so for many years. I found out about him originally when my iMac crashed. Being a photographer, I am extremely dependent on my computers and Ray rescued me. That was the beginning of a long relationship with these guys and many purchases. I have bought desktop, laptop for myself, laptop for my daughter, laptop for my son and had a repair done just last week. I refer many people there because they have always got me out of a bind, given great service and a great product. Last week my electricity unexpectedly turned off in the middle of the night and I woke up to a computer issue. Of course if most of your work is on the computer, you are in a panic. I took it in right away and they had it back to me next day good as new. And, I no longer live in Hollywood so that meant a trip from Valencia to bring my computer to them. In a fast and most inexpensive way MacPro-LA brought my MacBook Pro back to life. It could not start-up and I believed I had a problem with my RAM. I am from San Francisco and this occurred early in the morning in Southern California. The same day I arrived late-afternoon on Saturday and vwala it was fixed and finally the Sierra OS was humming. They offered to do a free diagnostic and also moved directly to repair the MacBook Pro by re-inserting the RAM memory that had been jossled around. My computer works again and I was able to avoid the Apple Upsell and b.s. that this of course wouldn't be under any warranty, and they would say just get the latest and more expensive version. But my thanks is to MacPro-LA, everything was repaired within 15 minutes. They were able to unscrew the MacBook Pro to get into their black box, find the problem and correct. I searched and searched to find a computer/repair store In the valley to replace the one I spent so much money on and being told I needed another part. I found MACPRO LA on Google and read most of their reviews and I was very impressed and determined to drive to Hollywood to see for myself. OMG! Ray, explain everything about my computer and what they had to offer. He suggested to move from the Mac Pro to series to an iMac. The selection was plentiful. However, I couldn't afford the refurbish iMac... It was reasonable for what I needed coming from a 2006 MacPro to a 2017 iMac. He, suggested, financing is available with options of pay back within 100 days or 12 months. They have a finance company they use (Snap Finance), which I was approved for, using a soft credit inquiry and took less than 6 minutes to apply. Greatly, happy with my new computer! Thanks again! 2 thumbs up for a fantastic experience start to finish. I was driving by Cahuenga looking to avoid the traffic on Highland to go to Hollywood and literally just stumbled upon this store! I thought to go in and get a quote just in case it was a better deal than what I was quoted at the Apple Store...and to my surprise not only was the price quoted much better but I ended up getting an upgrade on the house too as this guy has just opened and looking to build new clients. Really friendly no nonsense approach and cheap rates, what more can a guy like me who hates to go to the Apple store geniuses ask for ?Forget shopping around and go to MacPro LA for fantastic service at an unbeatable rate . My computer crapped out late 1 night and I was in the middle of a project. I contacted my normal Mac/tech guy and after waiting a decent amount of time for a response; I was in a bit of a panic. MacProLA was reco'ed to me and I contacted them. They said they could diagnose the issue quickly and if it was either of the possible outcomes; they'd have it fixed within hours. And that's exactly what happened. They were quick, they were reasonably priced and they were professional. I'm thrilled to have this resource. I finally bought a new computer today my old one died this morning. I consider myself predominantly technically inept and I have avoided fixing my Mac related problems for too long a time. Partly because I didn't want to deal with the pain,waiting and appointment making of going to the Mac store. Amazing! I spilled red wine all over my son's almost new MacBook on Thanksgiving, it was completely dead. The Apple store said it was a minimum of $1000 to even have it looked at but it would likely need to be replaced. Someone from my Magnolia Park Mama's Facebook group recommended I take it to MacPro-LA. I just got the MacBook back today and not only is it working, but all the files are also still intact and exactly how it was when I split the wine. I was concerned about how I would get my late 2010 model MacBook Air repaired when Apple made it obsolete. But now I know right where to go if I encounter any problems with my computer. The folks at MacPro-LA on Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood are the best! They installed a new trackpad and battery in my obsolete computer within 24-hours. And the price for the repair was fair and affordable. I am grateful to (Ray) for hearing my concerns, and for successfully making my 10-year old obsolete MacBook Air work properly again. MacPro-LA is a great place to get a reasonably priced refurbished laptop or desktop. Ray is very knowledgeable about the technicalities of the computer, he is familiar with the different models and he does not pressure you into buying. I bought a mac pro laptop from him a few months ago and, last week, I bought a desktop. He copied all the data from the one to the other plus he loaded them with various applications at no extra charge. I am 100% satisfied with both my purchases. I searched online for refurbished iMac -- google, craigslist, amazon, apple -- found MacPro-LA on Yelp. Great reviews! Here's mine. They advertised online an iMac 21.5" for $599. Took lunch, drove from DTLA to Hollywood. The shop is right off the offramp, free parking right in front. Was let in, showed the one I wanted, Ray answered a couple of questions. Computer, keyboard, mouse, all boxed up. In and out in 10 minutes and he even carried the box into my car. Now I'm online writing this review. Go here! read more

Came in because my 2012 Mac book pro screen wasn't turning on. I met Ray who said he would run a free diagnostics on it. He called me later that day and told me it was just unplugged and that I can come pick it up. Didn't even try to charge me. He did tell me I should upgrade my HDD to a SSD which I did take his advice on. The labor fee wasn't too expensive, and he was able to clone my new SSD from my old hard drive. My laptop runs as if its brand new and I'm super thankful. read more

They replaced the bracket with one that wasn't the actual one. If you run a repair shop, you can't simply install something you think will work. The phone she had was from Apple and never been worked on. So I knew after I opened it up that they totally just didn't care. Also for the $100+ dollars she spent, you had better find a better supplier as the screen she has on is realistically $28 you cost. The screen was washed out and I can't even imagine how you thought it was passable. I understand the whole in and out, but don't skimp on repairs and actually try and do quality work even if it takes more time. I do phone repair and I can't even believe that Apple recommended this shop to everyone. I would recommend anyone who gets their phone repaired here to double check everything afterwards. Shady company who tries to get by with shortcuts.
