There were 5 of us on a Monday night. There was a wait as I guess a 4 top would have been easier. Knowing the prices going on, I just couldn't eat that much at dinner time, so was given their regular menu. It had lots of choices and I had the Hibachi with Salmon. It came out looking amazing. The salmon was a thin cut, several of them, and was a slightly over cooked. I could tell that bit was frozen or maybe a slightly lesser grade. The restaurant is lit well with lots of mood lighting, and it was modern. I think they had a renovation recently because there was another name on their back wall. We were really excited to try the all-you-can-eat sushi & hibachi, and I chose this place for my birthday dinner. Unfortunately, it ended up being a very disappointing experience. Things started off poorly with food coming out in the wrong order, sushi before appetizers and it only went downhill from there. The hibachi portions were extremely small and the food was cold, which was especially upsetting since hibachi should be fresh and hot right off the grill. I waited over an hour for my meal while everyone else at the table finished eating. During that time, our waitress rarely checked on us, didn't offer any drink refills, and we had to repeatedly flag her down just to get updates. We were told it was a "rush," even though the restaurant was more than half empty on a Tuesday evening. When my food finally arrived, it was a very small portion of just 3 shrimp and noodles and still barely warm after the hour long wait. The owner offered only a 10% discount, which felt very dismissive given the experience and that at this point I still had not even had my meal at all. All you can eat sushi is 30.95 for lunch on weekends, the lunch price of 20.95 is only Monday through Friday. Since I was not ready to do all you can eat and spend 30.95, I opted to order ala carte from the menu. I chose vegetable tempura from the appetizer section and a spicy tuna roll. The vegetable tempura came out and it was huge, I was super surprised it was such a large order for $7.50 - more on that later. There were several vegetables on the plate, but it included mushrooms that I don't care for and several large onions, and broccoli. Not something I would order again, The spicy tuna roll was pretty good. My fault for not checking the bill before I paid, I was surprised to see that I spent almost $30.00 on 2 items! The vegetable tempura charge was 15.99 when I had ordered the appetizer at 7.50. He indicated the 15.99 was the entree vegetable tempura that comes with rice. The menu and their paper napkin say Izumi but is called Machi on yelp. A little confusing but the location is correct and you can check in. The place is new. I was confused whether or not you can order off of their menu without doing the all you can eat or not so we did the all you can eat. It honestly is the same if we both ordered 4 rolls which we normally do. This time, I was able to try a starter and get dessert as well. The price is $30.95 per person for all you can eat. You do need to be mindful with your ordering as the fine print states they can charge you 25% more for unfinished food. With that said, let's get down to business. I started with the tuna tower which was excellent. Rice layer at the bottom, crab, avocado and tuna on top. Bright and full of flavor. We shared an order of the tuna tower which was perfect l, leaving enough room for 4 rolls. Their menu states how many pieces are for each roll which can be very helpful when determining how many you should order and the strategy for consuming them. We started with the spider roll and the hawaiian roll. While I am more partial to non-warm/non-cooked roll, the spider was pretty good and had some excellent flavors, not to mention the soft shell crab was fried well. After we finished the 2 rolls, we immediately placed an order for the Izumi and mango delight. I liked the Izumi the most from this round. Now, this is just personal preference but I really did not like the mango delight. It was too sweet, especially with the sauce dumped on top of the rolls and the rice felt a little dry. Also, our order took a while to come that our waitress, worried that it had been delivered to a different table, so she placed another order. As a result, both orders came back to back. You could tell they were made by different people. The one we started digging into wasn't made as neatly as the second delivery. As I said, the sauce on the mango delight was dumped atop the roll while the second looked more delicate as if the person preparing it had used a squeeze bottle to artistically apply the sauce on top of the roll. I wish I took a side by side picture before the waitress took back the second order. I had green tea ice cream for dessert. Your typical green tea ice cream. They do have other options but I was too full. Perhaps next time! Service was good. Our server came back and followed up on the undelivered roll and made sure our tea glasses were refilled. While I think this building used to be a BBQ joint, they have done some face-lift to the place. It is spacious and can easily accommodate large groups of people. My friends and I went on MLK day and were not aware that pricing would be all day all you can eat dinner prices (despite calling to ask the night before). There was a long wait list. We were told 30-45min, but we were seated 10min later. The food was ~extremely~ slow to come out. (Besides the miso soup and tuna tataki appetizer) we waited 30-45 mins each time for our meal to slowly trickle out. They take orders for the whole table per order sheet, and all the sushi related items are served on one large platter. The workers delivering our food did not explain what each item was (except the last server). After the long delay, we forgot what each person ordered and often had to guess what we were consuming. Additionally, they never brought out some items from our orders (ie. dumplings, surf clam sushi, eel cucumber roll, garden salad).
