Casual Japanese food, portion was perfect. Ordered Chicken katsu bento and Potato Croquette Bento. I'd have liked a little more rice but katsu and croquettes were excellent, crispy outside and tender inside. I'd definitely recommend, would go back there again!

Went here for lunch as I was craving sushi! I was immediately greeted as I walked in. This place has a lot of yummy options so it took me a sec to figure out what to get. I settled on the katsuya roll bento box, which comes with not just sushi, but also salad with ginger dressing, seaweed salad, edamame, potato salad, crab Rangoon and a small dessert. Sushi was really good and tasted fresh. The food came out in a timely manner. Restaurant was nice and clean. There are plenty on seats and booths. The only downside is that sometimes in this area, parking can be difficult, not the restaurant's fault!

LOVE Katsuya! I was on the go in the Delmar loop looking for a quick bite and Katsuya hit the spot. I was greeted by the friendliest staff member who took my order quickly, as there was no one else in line. I ordered a chicken katsu bento box and waited about 2 minutes for it to be ready to go! The staff member who took my order asked if I needed utensils and extra sauces. I appreciated their attention to limiting waste where possible! My bento box was loaded with yummy sides including 2 sushi rolls, rice, salad, kimchi & other pickled goodies, potato salad, and edamame. It came with two large pieces of crispy chicken katsu that paired perfectly with spicy mayo and sweet sauce on the side. It really was the perfect dinner I had been craving! Everything was soooo delicious!

I always love coming here--this is my go-to spot for bento boxes and katsu. The food is consistently excellent, and the portion sizes are generous. I recently tried the takoyaki for the first time, and it was incredible--crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, with plenty of octopus. Honestly, it's the best takoyaki I've ever had. I order from here at least once a month, whether dining in or through DoorDash, and the quality is always great. Love this place!

I thought this was a decent spot to grab some sushi or chicken Katsu. The place is spacious and has plenty of seating. The service is great. They answered everything I needed to know and the food was pretty good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sushi was good too!

I liked their pork katsu bento box from Yelp experience. So today, I ordered it again through Grubhub for lunch. The pork katsu was warm, fresh, and crispy. I liked the variety of the side dishes, and how the bento box looked. If you want to surprise your friends/family members with a lunch treat, Katsuya is the place to go.

Katsuya is located on the Delmar Loop in St. Louis, MO. It offers Japanese cuisine. This is a counter order spot. Very quick service. I want everyone to know that I now think bento boxes are superior. With a focus on premium ingredients, katsuya's bento boxes featuring katsu and sushi are huge and delicious. We tried the vegetable rolls, fried shrimp katsu and katsuya roll bento box. All were fresh and fantastic. Perfect foodie Friday lunch.

Located along the Delmar Loop, Katsuya serves a variety of Japanese dishes. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Bento Box ($14.50) and was very impressed with the variety of authentic Japanese side dishes that accompanied it. Pickled veggies, potato salad, kimchi, and 2 pieces of sushi were included, making for a vibrant dish with a great deal of diversity. The restaurant itself was a small place with quirky decor. The team at Katsuya was kind, and the food came out relatively quickly (15 minutes). Overall, I was very pleased with Katsuya and will be returning!

The place was busy but not crowded when I arrived on a weekday evening. The staffers were amazing! They greeted me and introduced me to their menu. I ordered a pork bento box. The order included deep-fried porks coated with panko breading, rice, salad, two pieces of sushi, and pickled Japanese vegetables. The presentation was pleasing. For me, the porks were a bit dried and not seasoned. However, I enjoyed all the side dishes - especially the seaweed + potato salad. Overall, Katsuya is a great place for getting a quick meal. The parking situation is difficult sometimes on the Loop. I'd suggest parking away during the rush hour (if parallel parking isn't your thing). Although I'm not a big fan of deep-fried proteins, I might come back and try other items on the menu!

Katsuya is the perfect quick lunch spot on the Delmar loop. The food is always fresh and light and comes out really quickly. I like the Crunchy Bento Box and the seaweed salad.

Such a fun lunch that I had here. Katsuya is located on the strip of Delmar Loop! Walk in to this open spot with a lot of natural light, & clean environment! You can't come here without getting a huge Bento Box that comes with everything you need that even includes dessert! Order from the front, the huge screen shows the menu & they'll hand you your buzzer for when food is ready. Mine came out super quick! I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll box. No complaints. Loved it.

My fiancé and I used to live in U City and honestly, my biggest complaint is that this wasn't open then! We were in the area and looking for a quick dinner, and this popped up with great reviews. There's a reason for that! The place is very clean, and they have a simple menu, which is much appreciated. Service was quick and so was the food! For $13.50, we got SO MUCH FOOD. For the chicken, the literally give two huge breasts. The quality is so good, a lot of times I fight fatty pieces and I'm not a huge fan, not here, their chicken was so clean and perfect. We were amazed. The salad dressing is super gingery and delicious, they give you a good scoop of rice and two small sides. The crab Rangoon was super unique and delicious. Even the pickled veggies were great, and their seaweed salad is probably the best I've ever had. Their prices were so fair for what they give you, everything was high quality and tasted delicious...this is the spot.

I went on Friday evening around 4:30 pm. When entering the building the smells were immaculate. The host/ cashier was understanding and helped with my order. I also wanted to try their sushi and order the Crunch Roll Box. For the price of the box they provide you plenty of food that is included like a salad, snaps peas, seaweed, etc that will leave you full. My favorite dish was the sushi roll but the chicken if you get the spicy sauce is delicious to dunk it in. This location was clean and would return again when in town. Overall, the setting in the loop sets up for a great meal with views outside. Be sure to try their crab Rangoon!! Yummmm

Some of the bites are definitely an acquired taste (this meal was my first exposure to eating liver and sea urchin - both very bold and unique flavors) but getting to try new foods was something I really liked about this meal. The restaurant is beautiful, warm, and bright. You get to sit right up at the counter with just 5 other people when you do the nine-course dinner. Each course is prepared in front of you so it's neat to be able to see the chefs prepare the next course while you're eating. When you book the reservation, you get the choice to pick between tempura and yakizakana for one of the courses, and while the tempura was good (which I ordered), the yakizakana was excellent (which my husband ordered). They do a great job explaining what everything is that you're eating, how to eat it, and which order to eat it in. And even though it's all small bites, we left dinner feeling full and satisfied. We will absolutely be back.

There's something incredibly comforting about sitting down to a bubbling hot pot when it's freezing outside. The first time we tried the extra spicy Sichuan broth, and the second time we went with the chicken broth. Mixing the two creates the perfect balance -- rich, flavorful, and just the right level of heat. We've also tried the sliced chicken, shrimp, and fish. My personal favorite combination is cooking the shrimp and cod together with lots of vegetables. The veggies are fantastic -- especially the corn on the cob, chestnuts, and broccoli. Another fun feature is the toppings bar where you can customize your sauces and garnishes. I love adding sesame seeds for extra crunch, along with chili oil, fresh cilantro, and spring onions. And honestly, even just slurping down the soup at the end is a treat in itself. The service is really great. The ambiance is a bit average, but once you're immersed in the whole hot pot experience and enjoying the food, it honestly doesn't matter. Definitely recommend for a cozy, flavorful meal -- especially on a cold night!

One small thing is that the big menus never really got taken away, even after we ordered and even after the food came out. We eventually just handed them over ourselves since they were getting in the way of the table. Nothing major but just a small thing to note. When you sit down they bring out a complimentary little bowl of fried crackers with a spicy seasoning on top. I personally have a low tolerance for spice so it wasn't really for me, maybe a 4 out of 10 on my end, but if you can handle heat you might enjoy it more than I did. The ramen though was really good. We got the donkatsu pork ramen, solid 8 out of 10, and the chicken katsu ramen which was a 9 out of 10. It's been a few weeks since I had any pocket cash to go out to eat... so I decided to pick a food…read moresource at random for a Saturday afternoon, and I'm SO GLAD I did... You know how they say one of the best things about Mexico is the food? I have to admit, I would honestly wouldn't know and just have to trust the stories I've heard, as I've never been lucky enough to go to Mexico.... But all my life I've heard stories about people who go and basically remind you.. NEVER hit a restaurant for _authentic_ Mexican food. You want to hit the street vendors. Well, St. Louis has a fantastic surprise.. Now you can do that right here in the city! Part of a three-restaurant set up, Amigo Sole is the "street vendor" restaurant that's not on the street. (And having met the owner of the full set-up, I'm REALLY hoping i get invited to the grand opening of Jekyll & Hyde) As it was middle of the day Saturday, I didn't ask for anything alcoholic (so i don't know if the reviewer that asked for alcoholic beverages and was told they didn't have any was just unlucky or if it was true.) But I'll take a Mexican Coke over American Coke any day of the week (NO, get your minds out of the gutter.. not that powdered one!). Anyway, I went simple for a quick stop, and went with the Chicken Bomb. at the recommendation of the cashier and he was quick to name this one off.. (and always remember cashiers, have a favorite READY, so thumbs up to the cashier on this one!) . And then to my amazement.. no more than 5 minutes later, HOT, tasty, cheesy, chicken quesadilla style BOMB-diggity! (Ironically this one is not listed on the website menu, only the instore menu? Come on Sole, online is everything today :) ) Absolutely delicious food.. and absolutely messy too, as it literally would fall apart in my hands.. (HEY, that's a good thing!) As for the decor.. 100% true, as Amigo Sole definitely has SOUL! (and lots of soles!). Again Amigo Sole isn't designed to be a 'great sit down' restaurant, it's designed to be street-vendor FUN!!!! and with what decoration they have, it pulls it off fantastically in my opinion. So just based on my meal, what the owner told me about the Amigo Sole, you're getting EXACTLY what you're promised a Mexican street vendor serving fantastic Mexican street vendor food, only with a roof over your head the entire time. During the meal, met again (Who i believe to be) the owner of the store and talked with him about Amigo Sole and how amazing it was to me... and he told me about the three-restaurant combination. (And I apologize sir, but I completely forgot your name when we talked!). even mentioning they share three kitchens when it gets busy (so I was kinda lucky as i think the rain scared everyone out for the day), but I'm still hoping for the Jeckyll & Hyde invitation! (I'll even pretend to find a date if I have to for the upscale part!)
