Stopped here for a drink before seeing a play next door. The place was pretty packed as it's one of the closest bars/restaurants to the Orpheum. I could over hear a lot of people saying they were going to the play and it started to clear out close to 7pm when the doors were opening. They have 2 levels from what I can see for seating. There was no host or anything so we just grabbed a table from another party leaving. After a few minutes a waitress came and cleared the table and gave us menus. We only ordered drinks. I got a Tim Collin's and my mom got one of the drinks from the seasonal specials. Drinks were okay. The waitress did let us know when she gave us menus that there's about a 30-35 min wait for food, but didn't matter since we knew we just had time for drinks. My mom did say she wanted to go back to check out the food so maybe next time.

This was my second time at Mackenzie Pub and I finally had a chance to try the wings, as they were out the last time. I got the jerk dry rub, very good and decent portions. My friends got wings and tacos as well and it seemed the verdict was that the food was overall pretty good. Because it is downtown, you are going to have downtown prices so I didn't think the cost was crazy expensive but still on the higher end. We sat outside since it was so nice out and we were on our way to a concert. They have a surprisingly large back deck with seating in the sun or in the shade. Our service was a little slow, as it was last time, and they forgot a few things but it was hard to flag them down. I have the feeling that the servers sometimes have sections both inside and outside which makes it difficult for the customer to get assistance if needed.

We went here right before seeing Beauty and the Beast. There wasn't much time, but we were still able to get some great service and food. They let us sit outside on the patio. It was hard to find initially, but the space was open and comfortable. I had a salad, and we shared some wings. They also had themed drinks for the show! I thoroughly enjoyed the salad, and the wings were good too.

Outstanding vibe late into the night. Epic Scotch eggs (soft-boiled). Terrific and attentive Minnesota-nice service by Elliana. Very good beer selction. Very busy and fun on a Tuesday night. Highly recommended.

Stopped by for a quick dinner before a show at the Orpheum. It was pretty packed so we had to sit upstairs. The upstairs ambience was a little dull. Il suggest sitting downstairs if you can. Got a couple beers and tacos. The carribean pork tacos were fantastic. So so so good. So flavorful. Order it for sure. Chicken tacos were good too. Great place to stop by before a show for sure

It a bad place overall. Food is very bad, super small portions, no flavor. We had: -their most popular burger, suggested by server, it was tiny and tasted something like cafeteria In kindergarten, very disappointing -hod dog with coleslaw, it was also a mini hot dog, I don't even know where they get the buns so small, just like the burger, it was the size of kindergarten's lunch, it says 'comes with the side' , we picked coleslaw- it comes in the little plastic sauce container, so small, it should be just called the topping - famous eggs- not good at all, the idea sounds great, but the sausage used is the cheapest breakfast sausage, tastes like something you'd get for free breakfast at the cheep hotel, and fried in old oil, surprising part was the texture of the egg itself, it was pretty good considering everything - fried cheese curds, $11, comes in the tiniest rectangular paper container, about 2x3 inches, super small portion of that, it look like a sample or something, we looked a little confused'that's it?', and also tasted like it was fried in old canola oil I think the place is only good if you're drunk or high, it's late at night, and everything else is closed ‍ We were visiting Minneapolis for the first time, and had so much good food around in few days- this one was so disappointing compared to to everything else. Service wasn't great either, but maybe it's a type of place where it's ok for servers to be a little bit drunk/ high as well‍ Would not recommend to any sober people that really just looking for something to eat late at night, we just happened to be in the hotel across the street that night and pictures of their famous eggs got us in...

Stopped here before a show at the Orpheum. Loved it! Smoked buffalo wings were amazing. Flavor was great and they weren't dry. The Caribbean pork tacos were a nice balance of sweet and savory. Our beers were great and server was funny and attentive. We tried one of their featured warm cocktails and it was very strong (reggae coffee I think it was?). Definitely would come back again in the future.

They have a comfortable and lively atmosphere, good food (fish and chips and beef dip are among my favorites, and attentive service. FOOD: I enjoyed their chicken caesar this time which had great cheese, well seasoned blackened chicken, and a great dressing. AMBIANCE: I've now sat inside at the lower level, upper level, and outside -- all of which provide a similarly enjoyable and lively vibe which is neither too loud nor quiet.

There is a full bar, seating, dining room type set up with high tables, flat screens and flags hanging from the ceiling, very bustling vibe. Also next to the bar is a small room with another bar, couches and table seating for possibly a private gathering or party. Upstairs is where we spent most of time. With the capacity seating of well over 50+ tables of 4, this was a good spot for our group. Outside is a large grassy roof top area with a large screen, to watch sporting events. There is a wide selection of beers here on tap. For food we ordered fish and chips, chicken wings, bangers & mash, scotch eggs, Shepard Pie. I enjoyed Minneapolis' own Summit EPA beer. For the size of our group, the service was really good.

George & The Dragon is a super cool restaurant that my hubby and I tried for a double date night…read morewith our friends. We came on a Monday night at 6:15pm. This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.
