Tracey was able to get me in for an estimate two days earlier than my insurance company had scheduled, and she extended great hospitality to my partner and me at the shop, answering all our questions. Eric and John were cheerful and professional during the initial walk around the car. They determined that the repair was likely minor and, if parts were available, could possibly be completed in one day. Eric was clear about what Mackin's would do to get us back on the road ASAP. John immediately set out to get the parts delivered the same day. Neither of them over promised, which I appreciate, and it was clear from their actions that they would do everything possible to make sure things were done right. The guy who greeted me and took my car was super friendly but the actual service was the problem. They kept my car for about a month without even looking at it. They found things that weren't wrong when I brought the car in. At the end of the month they called and asked me if I knew my tire was messed up which is what I told them when I brought it in. Time wise we were also dealing with insurance so that also extended the time period. Would not recommend if you need help with your car. read more

Yikes! We've had 4 car incidents in the last year . (3 by other drivers.). Each time we have come to Mackin's on Hearthwood. Office staff welcoming, friendly, polite, professional. (I used to work admin. in a transmission shop.). The whole atmosphere and customer areas of the building (including bathroom) are clean, neat, well-organized. Estimates have been comparable to other local auto body shops. No surprise costs. Insurance and rental car processes have been very customer-friendly. Our car was muddy from our Christmas tree shopping ... they vacuumed and detailed the inside for us without needing to request it. Very good customer service! read more

I would not recommend this repair shop to anyone. My insurance company recommend it when my car was hit and I was new to the area. The damage seemed minimal and they said they had to order parts and kept delaying the finish date. Once parts were installed, something wasn't working properly so the finish date was delayed more and more. All of this was annoying but after 3 weeks of my car being in the shop I was just happy to finally have it back. I was assured everything was fixed and given a lifetime warranty on the repairs made. The day after I got my car back I realized it wasn't fixed. The alignment was off and the steering wheel was pretty far to the left. Then the stability control light came on and my car alerted me the hill assist was not working either. I took my car back and the guy working on my car originally told me it could be turned on and off with a button. It could not. He then said they didn't do the electrical work and had to contact the shop that did it to have them repair it. I had to call back the next day to ask for an update, they did not call me. He told me that he "didn't know" the tire was hit or anything else was going on with my car. Why is it my fault that my car was sent home still broken when I was assured everything was fixed? I don't understand if this is ignorance or not paying attention to detail. He called me back later saying they found "quite a bit of stuff that's bent" and informed me that new parts would need to be ordered to replace the bent pieces, and my car would be in the shop for a while yet again. How many hands did my car go through that didn't notice this damage? My car was eventually fixed but it was "not their fault" it wasn't fixed correctly in the first place. I didn't have my car for over a month. Don't go here. read more

My car was hit on the freeway, front right. The insurance company the person has was horrible. Mackin's people were great with dealing with them. This took way longer than expected; through no fault of body shop. Covid slowed everything down. Once the parts were here they were great. Estimate was just below $1500, so decided to pay cash versus going thru insurance. Picked up my car and handed the receipt (charged to insurance in error) and it was over $3000. Nothing beyond the original repair was approved by us or insurance. They made a "concession" of deducting a couple hundred only to later not return the full amount of our original cash deposit. Tried to work thru it with manager Shad Thibodeau, only to be shutdown despite having documentation for everything. read more

New cars have a air deflector in the front and rear wheel wheels. After I took my car to Mackin's I thought something was missing. Multiple emails to the person managing my fix there was responded with "It's all good" or "fixed" and such. 3 months later. I find a car just like mine and it looked different. I spend hours looking it up and sure enough, front side air deflectors, required by the manufacturer, not installed. I have my insurance and their management involved now. I question everything they do. Keep in mind they got the engine wrong, the exhaust wrong, and now the body wrong. They had 3 jobs. Body, engine, and exhaust. All three have been sent out because the work is shoddy. I'll meet with their management Let's see if they are any good The way I look at it fixing everything is below expectations. To just meet my expectations, they need to fix everything and show me, plus compensate for all the time I spent. To exceed it, they have to do more. Fixing all the problem is just what they should have done 4 months ago. Again - if you like your car, don't take it to Mackin's. read more

Forgot to update this a while back. Once we got the car towed back we tried to start as it ran perfectly fine while driving after accident. The oil light came on and then we had the car inspected and oil pan was purposely gouged in by something sharp. Rear end damage was to back bumper and no way the oil pan could have been effected by the accident. I had driven around for a week with no oil light coming on before we took to Mackins. read more

Beware of concrete post in parking garages! If you hit one it causes lots of damage to your car and will make you cry. Mackin's made me happy again. The receptionist was friendly and remembered me from Alpine Auto Body days. Michael greeted me and was able to give me an estimate for the damage while I was there. Michael emailed our insurance company and got approval to start repairs. I received updated via text message and phone calls as the progress on my car took place. Our 2017 Cadillac was repaired and looks as good as it did when we rolled it off the showroom floor. I will definitely take our cars back to Mackin's. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. This is the most dishonest business I have ever dealt with. Brandon lied several times, once when he changed his estimate, then on two different occasions he said he had called and left a message when he hadn't, everyone knows cell phones have call records. Then after I was tired of all the lies, I decided to not have them do the repairs on my vehicle and got the repairs done elsewhere for a fraction of the price. Shame on you Mackins. I had my car (a very common model) there for 8 months waiting for a part. At first, they would let me know every week how things were progressing (this was their policy as stated on the paperwork that I received in the beginning). As time went on, they didn't contact me for weeks or only when I called them. They stated they didn't know why it was such a long delay or gave me reasons for the delay that all turned out to be guesswork on their part. Even when I finally did get the car back, they still had no reasons for the long delay. I think they could have been more proactive in finding more concrete answers so I better understood why I was carless for 8 months. Amazing customer service! Best pricing, no hassle repair. Mackin's handled our truck body repair with perfection, following another driver hitting our truck. They took care of all insurance arrangements / claims, & our rental was delivered to their shop. The repair was completed before their estimate. I Recently snagged a commercial rubber tie-down in my tire. Leaving a lot of obtrusive black rubber marks over the body surrounding the wheel well. Took it in to Mackin's for advice on what to use to remove it. They graciously buffed it off, NO CHARGE! Now that's customer service folks. read more

went there to get my fender fixed went fine until I got the car back and the front bumper they removed was completely cracked and i went to talk to the manager about this and he was very unprofessional and started claiming that the damage was already there and that bumpers don't just get cracked from removal it was a small hairline crack which can easily happen if your not careful and he started arguing with me and saying he wouldn't do anything about it and there is also a substance on my front bumper thats black and can't get it off he said theres no way that's from them and asked me what it could be I said a shop can be dirty and he laughed he was a very unprofessional manager please do not take your car here currently going through lawyers to take them to court read more

I paid them $2,870 to replace the the front bumper on my truck. They didn't get it quite right and declined to fix the remaining issues.

First time walking in, had a horrible experience took about 30 minutes for someone to come to me before they got to me they talk to the person that came in after me Then after my claim was file they prolong it a few days, because the order the wrong parts and also there was to staff members that didn't show up which cause of that my truck sat in the body shop instead of being paint This is also the top rating on my Insurance people to go through so far not so good we will see in a couple of days read more

So, I crashed my car. Yep, dumb moment, wasn't paying attention, and smashed the front end / side pretty good on my car. Got it towed to Mackin's for auto body work. A MONTH AND A WEEK LATER, I got my car back. Let me repeat: a month. And a week. That's ~30 + 7 days. Now, I wouldn't write this review simply because of this. I didn't think the accident was too terribly bad but I'm not a mechanic so I don't really know. What I am writing about is how when I brought it in initially, they estimated that repairs would take a week to a week and a half. Well, that time came and went... got a call, "Waiting on parts, it'll be another week." Another week goes by, "Waiting on parts. We'll have it done in a week." Another week, "Waiting on parts. We'll have it done in a week." I mean, my god! By the third time the estimated completion was pushed back, my automobile insurance company couldn't cover my loaner anymore so I was pretty much stuck without a car. I will say that the two individuals I worked with provided pretty good customer service. At least they called and let me know what was up. The end result looks good for the car as well. So far, no problems. So, I'm definitely not "A-OK" with this shop (3 star description) so I'm giving two stars. Lesson: if you're going to give an estimate of when a car might be completed, it's best to overestimate and not underestimate. read more

My son had someone back into him when he was waiting to fuel up. You know how people cannot wait for the person in front to finish, they back up and then go around? Yeah, a big truck crunched into a small Honda coupe. Not a good idea- the hitch put a nice hole in the front end, and the estimate said it needed to be replaced. We took the car in and were told about three days. We got regular texts letting us know how it was going, and then were told it was ready the next day. EARLY! Love it. We picked up a car that looks amazing, and was cleaned inside and out. We were treated courteously, respectfully, everything was well explained, we were offered refreshments when we were there, and got a wonderful looking new bumper. Would make this my first stop if I ever needed body work done. read more

After reading some great reviews we brought our Land Rover in here a couple weeks ago after we had an accident. When we went to pick it up we had noticed a little spot where the paint had chipped off and the employee helping us didn't really seem to mind. I went ahead and took the car and I was going to just buy some touch up paint from the dealership and fix it myself. Well after a week of having the car back we noticed several areas that had been painted were now chipping and the grill that they had "fixed" was now showing plastic from the back of it making it look super cheap!!. We were told to bring it back in, so we did. When we spoke with the first associate Jaime he could basically care less and kept making excuses as to why this was not on them and it has to do with Land Rover. We asked to speak to the manager, Shawn came out and told us that it seemed something happened during the painting process and he would get it fixed, he seemed super helpful. Unfortunately that didn't last long.. We went and picked up the car today and it looks like they took paint and blobbed it on where it was chipped and then there is a scratch on the hood that was not there before. They said that they did not know where the scratch came from and basically they were standing by the horrible paint job that they had done. If you want quality work on your car I would not suggest coming here. It seems all great in the beginning....until you come and pick up your car. The only good thing was they made it really easy to get a rental. If you do choose to come here, I wish you luck!! read more

My review is based entirely on their customer service. We interacted with 3 staff members and were treated either unfriendly or just downright rude. We were sent here by our insurance company and they seemed very annoyed with our business. We have informed our insurance they need to stop referring people here. Incredibly frustrated with Makin's Auto body- this is the second and last time they have done repair work for me. The first time, it was a very easy process and I was very happy with them- so when I was in need for some repair work to my car, it was a no brainer to me to use them again, against my husbands wishes. ( I should have listened to him this time) They promote all work comes with a life time warranty, apparently this is NOT the case, a certain percentage, is not covered and this was disclosed to me after they began taking my car apart for the repair. I was then told last week, they have stopped working on my car and have contacted Allstate about some after market parts that were a part of my car that were no longer available for replacement, since this needed to be taken off for correct repair. I was then told they would contact me on Tuesday to let me know how Allstate would like to handle the claim- I received a text this morning, saying that my car should be ready for pick up by 5 today, being a bit puzzled since they told me last week they needed to figure out how to proceed correctly- I called them they told me the shop decided to go ahead and complete the repairs- and they would not warrant the paint since they were not able to prep the car correctly. When I called Allstate they told me they are sending Mackin's a check for over the requested amount because they need to repair the car correctly and it would require additional time. When I asked Mackin's about this they told me they had incurred some additional shop time covering the part that should have been removed then re-installed. I trusted Mackin's to know what they were doing before taking my car apart, or I would have taken my car to another shop- I feel like Makin's is blaming Allstate for not noticing these aftermarket parts- and Allstate is blaming Makin's. All I asked for was my car to be repaired back to the pre-loss condition, and to offer the warranty to me just like they have promoted from the beginning. I had several scratches on a rear fender and took my car in for an estimate. This was not on an insurance claim. They quoted me $1000 as they said they would have to paint a huge section of my car. I was shocked at their quote. I was referred to another body shop that buffed out the scratches in 30 minutes time for a much cheaper price. read more

2 weeks of on time messages about my car being on time. Then day of delivery I get a call in the afternoon saying it's not ready. Then blames it on the company that they have subcontracted to do my alignment. I won't get my car for almost a week because I have a job and can't meet their other offered times. Total BS. read more
