It is a cute restaurant located in downtown Issaquah that serves standard but delicious dim sum food. Here are my recommendations: -Rice roll with Chinese donut -Rice roll with shrimp -steamed shrimp ball -steamed pork sui mai -pan fried turnip cake -baked BBQ turnover -fried pork dumpling football -Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce -sticky rice wrapped in banana leave This is not on the menu but ask for the pineapple custard bun! Came here for chinese dinner. I was scared off by all the white people at first. It was 95% white people. I guess it was because it was in Issaquah. Ordered: shrimp dumpling (legit enough and skin is thin enough)- $6 - 4/5 order another dumpling- i didn't care for. dou mui -Chinese Snow Pea Shoots with Garlic- 4/5 pork congee century egg (not on menu) - almost $15 - 4/5 but the price was steep. They did give a lot of pork and century egg though. the roasted bbq duck was too fatty and meat tasted funny - 2/5 service - okay- not rude. busy but responsive apparently if you can speak cantonese you can also order off the menu items that traditionally chinese people eat such as chinese clay pots and special dessert STEAMED EGG CUSTARD BUNS (LIU SHA BAO) 3 in one order for $6.50. Also if you want traditional chinese crab or lobster meal you have to call 3 days ahead and let them know. The price is more expensive than other chinese restaurants in Renton but it is passable (another $10 more?) if you are really not wanting to drive out too far. I think Issaquah is in a place where there is not much chinese food so this is the closest thing. I would recommend driving to Renton to go to Red Bamboo (really authentic hong kong food with bigger portions for similar pricing) , Mai Place, or Renton Seafood. But none of these places in Renton serve dim sum so if you want dim sum stick to Macky if you are in Issaquah or go to Seattle or Bellevue. For 2 people- we paid $65 with tax and tip. And the amount of pork in it could of fit in a spoon. If you don't have chow mein noodles. Take it of the freakin menu. Moo shoo pork. Thank goodness for plum sauce. I know times are tough right now for us all. But if I'm going to try and help my community and invest $75 in a meal at your establishment, put some damn effort into it. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went with friends to grab a few drinks and appetizers and they are so inconsistent and inconsiderate and tried to fraud us of our bill. We had 3 drinks and one appetizer and they claimed our bill was $90 WTF! I ordered a coffee with Bailys and my friend ordered two vodka sodas and they charged us a $50 bar bill!? Looking at their King County Food Safety Rating (http://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/health/environmental-health/food-safety/inspection-system/search.aspx#/details/PR0007036) this restaurant is rated 'Okay,' below the Excellent and Good ratings. Okay is defined as "The restaurant has had MANY red critical violations over the last four inspections." The restrooms were also dirty. I've been trying to convince my parents to go with me here, since the last time they ate here, they were the only ones who didn't receive fortune cookies, and haven't wanted to go back since. But finally, after not wanting to face the long wait of Top Gun, we came here on a Sunday afternoon. I really liked the interior and the decor, and there was no wait! We were seated immediately and given tea and water. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the tea cost $2.25 for 3 people! Why would they place it on the table acting like it was complementary?? I know tea is a traditional drink with dim sum, but we didn't want it. So definitely make sure to refuse the tea the second they bring it if you don't want to pay the extra money. Now on to the food -- we ordered off the carts and off the menu, since some of the food we wanted wasn't on the carts. There were only 2 carts (steamed food and baked/fried food), and they seemed to never have any new additions, always the same old, same old. We ordered spare ribs, sticky rice, shrimp dumplings, shumai, chicken feet, Chinese broccoli, turnip cake, spinach dumplings, shrimp&chive dumplings, stuffed eggplant, and pan-fried sesame shrimp dumplings. I really enjoyed the turnip cake. It had carrots and woodear mushroom, which is unlike traditional turnip cake. All the dumplings were pretty good, pretty standard. I thought the spinach dumpling was going to be vegetarian, but it had the same shrimp filling as the others. My parents pointed out that the leaves of the Chinese broccoli seemed dark, which means it was boiled a few times, or it was old. Also, if you aren't afraid of spicy, definitely use the chili sauce! It makes the food 10x more delicious. All in all, most of the food was just ok, nothing amazing except the turnip cake. I still prefer Top Gun over Macky's. Top Gun also has more variety. As for service, it wasn't too bad. There seemed to be at least 5 servers, even though the restaurant was only half full. read more

This seems to be the same not Chinese food restaurant in Issaquah so I thought I'd stop in- Seated quickly. I order hot and sour soup. Very good and generous portion. Trouble was the brought it out after bringing out my entree, Singapore chow fun. It's a curry dish but chow fun noddles were a bit soft and the shrimp and pork were not of great quality. Looks like the use salad shrimp and the pork appears pre-cooked and didn't have much flavorful or freshness. It didn't help that by the time I finished my soup my food was cold. I wouldn't order Singapore chow fun again. But I might give this restaurant another chance because the soup was so good. read more

Only some of the dim sum orders were good. But I share the following : do not - repeat do not order the salt and pepper calamari-it's deep fried squid strips-very greasy and tasteless!! Manager was ruled, defensive and down right nasty when asking him "What is this? This was not what you advertised on the menu?" We tried Mackys tonight, the food is forgettable. There was no special vinegar served with our dim sum dumplings. We requested some and were given red wine vinegar in a tiny dish. Mackys DimSum Dim Sum was very good, came here with family that live in Issaquah and was impressed by the quantity and quality of the dim sum. Ordered the usual Sui Mai, Baked Cha Sui Bao and Steamed Cha Sui Bao, Sticky Rice, Har Gaw and others. I thought the size of the Baked Cha Sui Bao were huge, but the meat filling was no one not porportional to the size but very tasty. The Steamed Cha Sui Bao were not as good as the baked. Loved the Pork Sui Mai with the freshness, taste and size, one of the better Sui Mai that I have had. read more

Apparently Macky's has been around for a while, and just moved into the former Mandarin Garden location. I wish I had known about them sooner, because I have been missing out! The boy and I ordered from the dim sum menu, and got a good mix of items. Bok choy? Delicious. Soup dumplings? Exquisite. Fried rice? Fantastic. I seriously loved every morsel that found its way into my belly. The service was great, with our server (who I suspect was also either the manager or owner) coming past us with dishes others had ordered to show us what to get next time. He also instructed us on how to properly eat the soup dumplings (one bite!) and suggested using the amazing chili sauce they make in-house. Nex favorite for staying close to home!
