    Easy option of you are wanting your noodles or rice fix. Ambiance could use some improvement though. Chefs / workers tend to be yelling at each other a lot especially during the rush hour but they at least are doing their best to push out orders. They seem to be really stressed out and lots of grumbling to themselves and especially towards each other which could be dialed in a bit. Orders can be a bit slow during weekend rush hour, so be prepared to stand and wait. Stand is in the mall food court. The beef chow fun was soft but dish didn't have much vegetables and could have more wok hei.

    The food was really good! I got the sesame tofu and the portion size was huge. Service was fast and the self service machine was really easy to use. The cashier helped give me a to-go box and gave me a free drink! 10/10 on food and service, will definitely go here again

    Rice & Noodles Chinese Kitchen is a new eatery in the Crossroads Shopping Center food court. It had taken over another Chinese eatery, which I hadn't tried. But I saw that they had wonton soup, so wanted to check it out. I will say that the wonton soup came out piping hot, which has me believe that they don't just make it ready to go and heat it up. The skin on the wontons was very thin, which was good. And the pork wasn't bad. I also like that it came with a lot of baby bok choy. But I was disappointed in the broth, which is always my favorite part of any soup. The broth was just more bland than I anticipated. It needed some extra oomph to it, like some chili paste or even a dash of salt. Since it's located in the food court at Crossroads, finding a place to dine in is easy, with many tables available. In addition to wonton soup, they have other heartier entrees. Not terrible food, but far from my favorite among the Crossroads food selection.

    As my name suggests I am crazy for Mongolian beef. When I first had it here it was great. Very different from other places more on the dry side as in not a lot of sauce. It actually reminded me of a place back in the day in Emeryville, CA called crispy fry in the public market. It no longer is there but anyone who's ever had Mongolian beef at crispy fry is probably in search of that similar Mongolian beef. Well I was happy to find this place that serves a Mongolian beef similar to crispy fry. However after my second visit it seems they either change the recipe or the cooks makes different styles because the second time was very different. It was very sweet and had lots of gravy/sauce. Also the woman made it this time. I was kinda disappointed because I drove from Kirkland just to eat the Mongolian beef. I have pictures of both Mongolian beef made at the same place. You can see how different it looks. Next time I'm just going to call if the dude is gonna make it. Tldr: Mongolian beef is good if the guy makes it.

The whole menu and ordering was done all on your phone for the whole table. Not very much interaction. We ordered the spicy BBQ chicken skewers, the stewed beef rib noodle soup, and the normal beef flank noodle soup. The order came out relatively fast. The spicy BBQ chicken skewer was not what I expected. I was expecting a skewer like a kabob, but I received a few skewers with what seems to be thin pieces of ground chicken. The flavor was alright, but the chicken was VERY dry, which made it hard to enjoy. My stewed beef rib noodle soup wasn't bad. I got it with normal sized noodles and some beef flank on the side. The noodles were fine, but the soup could've been warmer. I was expecting a hot bowl of soup. The flavor was lacking a little, but it became much better after I added some chili oil. The rib meat wasn't bad. It had a a couple bites that were a tad tough but the flavor was kinda there. Honestly the extra flank pieces I had were better. Much better overall and it was pretty tender. I didn't really try my friend's bowl, but she got her soup with wide noodles. They were a bit wider than she expected. She made note that her noodles did seem undercooked and they had a slight doughy chew to them. She said it would've been better if it was cooked a little longer. Overall I enjoyed my soup. There are some things I would change, but I think it was a good first experience for something I've never had before.

This restaurant is mostly self service; there are two kiosks right in front for ordering and a table full of prefilled drink cups. I think the only upside to this restaurant is the free cups of mango tea, which are slightly sweetened and fruity. I wouldn't say they are very mango forward though. Hot Oil Biang Noodles ($13.99) - The biang biang noodles here aren't very good. They seem to be stretched somewhat, but then I feel like they take shortcuts. Instead of being almost completely stretched via bouncing the noodles on the table, they only stretch it probably half as much as normal, then they cut the dough lengthwise several times - this is why I can see multiple clear corner pieces in the noodle instead of it being relatively straight. They also don't care to make it consistent in thickness. This causes major issues because the thinner parts are soft and mushy while the thicker corners are doughy and slightly undercooked. I don't know how, but the noodles also clump together, so in some bites, I'm eating three strands of mushy noodles right on top of each other. The sauce here isn't much better. It's supposed to be aromatic, blistering hot oil mixed with chili/vinegar and aromatics poured directly on the noodles. The problems here are multifold. Firstly, they don't drain the noodles properly, resulting in an excessive amount of water diluting the sauce. Secondly, they use far too much vinegar, making the sauce overly acidic. The vinegar is by far the dominant flavor in the dish. While the dish seems like it will be spicy due to the red color oil, it's almost completely diluted out by the vinegar and noodle cooking water. The dish is basically not spicy at all due to these factors. (2/5) Spicy Cumin Lamb Biang Noodle Soup ($14.99) - This dish suffers from the same noodle issues as above, but the soup format improves some aspects slightly, but worsens other aspects. Since the soup is hot and the noodles are soaked in the broth, they soften more readily, so the soft portions are even more mushy than the "dry" noodle. The thicker portions are nice and bouncy though. The soup itself is relatively flavorful, slightly gamey, and tastes like it actually is a lamb bone broth, but it doesn't really have depth of flavor. Again, it's not really spicy at all. The lamb on top seems like thinly sliced hot pot lamb, pan fried until very dry. If not for the fact that the lamb is sliced thin, it would be extremely tough. It does have a nice fragrant cumin flavor though. (2/5) Those were the two worst bowls of noodles I've had in a long time. I wasn't particularly impressed with the noodles at the U District location of Xi'an Noodles either, but they were far better than these two steaming piles of excrement. The space is small and a little narrow, so seating can be pretty limited. My parents and I were lucky enough to grab the last table, and we ordered 4 items: the dry noodle with scallion oil and braised pork chop, the secret dumplings, large wonton, and salty soy milk (dumplings and wonton aren't pictured). I was most curious and most disappointed by the scallion noodle and pork chop. The portion size seemed too small to justify its price point, and I felt the pork chop tasted dry. The noodles however, had a great flavor, so if I were to try the place again, I'd only go for the scallion oil noodles. The dumplings were amazing. They were a little pricey but worth the cost, and worth the restaurant name. The dumplings were larger than most dumpling places I've been to, and the meat and soup inside were super flavorful. The wontons were also good, though it can't beat the pan fried dumplings. The salty soy milk was a very unique experience- it was thicker, rich and flavorful than other salty soy milk soups that I'm used to. It almost has an umami, seafood-ish taste to it. Though I'm not a big fan of soy milk, I enjoyed this dish more than expected! After our meal, we got to choose some magnets to take home, which was a creative and sweet gift. For the overall price point, I don't think I'd be coming here regularly for a meal. I may drop by for choice items like the pan fried dumplings!

For our most recent order, we got two personal combos (main + appetizer + drink) through a Chinese app, which frequently has discounts. I'm a big fan of their takeout containers--they keep the noodles and soup nicely separated. The takeout bag is super sturdy, and the popcorn chicken has just the right amount of spice to really hit the spot. That said, I'd still recommend dining in, because the food is easily about three times better. I also think the portion of popcorn chicken is more generous when you dine in. Plus, if you finish the soup, you'll be very full. My go-to order is the fatty beef tomato soup with rice (I know, I know--it's a noodle place, but I like it better with rice). My husband always gets the original Yunnan rice noodle. We've tried the golden soup version, but it's just not as good. The prices are reasonable... well, reasonable for Bellevue .
