Terrible generic bland food and service. Pass on this place. Not worth it at all. Service not good either.

Burgers are huge and high quality beef. All the employees are friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

Family friendly restaurant. We had two toddlers in our party and they did have high chairs for us (prior restaurant we stopped at didn't). The outdoor patio is pretty and fills up pretty quick. I ordered the New York Philly with fries and a milkshake. Definitely a great combo. The philly was perfect and full of flavor. The Au jus dipping sauce was a tad bit salty in my opinion but still good. The Cowboy melt is a similar sandwich but with Anaheim green chilies and maybe a great option for those that want a little more spice. Might have to try that next time I'm in town. Our server was friendly. 1 less star for two reasons. When I walked in the hostess asked us if we would like to dine inside or in the patio and then proceeded to tell me to find a spot in the patio after telling her our preference for the patio. I didn't have the time or energy to find a spot that could accommodate our party and decided to sit inside at the table that I saw could fit us. Secondly the hostess abruptly asked us what we would like to drink before we could even sit down. l would have liked for them to have waited till we strapped our kids in the high chairs and everyone got settled. Not sure what the rush was. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Great tasting food and relaxed atmosphere. read more

We picked Macky's solely based on the large outdoor pet friendly patio on a return trip to the valley, but we received much more than just a pet friendly patio! Micheal, our server, was incredibly attentive keeping our glasses full and making sure the dog bowls he brought over were still full of fresh water. He didn't even mind when our misbehaving puppy jumped up on him.. thank you Michael! The food was also incredible, from our zucchini appetizers, to the chili dogs bigger than my kid's faces, and the hamburgers everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! I can't say enough nice things about this place. The waitress took the time to talk with us. It's pet friendly and the food is superb!

Terrible service - the waitress was nonexistent and the food came out cold. The chicken sandwich was bland and had a hair in it. One of the other servers came around and said she'd let the waitress know but instead of comping the food or even apologizing she brought the check out and said have a great day - the only time she stopped at the table after taking our order. read more

We embarked on our first family road trip and our first stop of the day was Payson for lunch. Traveling with two picky boys and my husband we had to find a place all of us could find food. My two boys both had the cheeseburger which they told me was really good and that the fries were the best ever. My husband had the club sandwich, he said it was fantastic. He is a really really picky person when it comes to food. Do when he says the sandwich was fantastic, that means a lot. I had an Avocado BLT minus the bacon- it was delicious. We always come here when we visit Payson. Nice big burgers served with batter fries. Get some of the thick ranch dressing for dipping the fries. For sure have the Southwest cheesecake it's like cheesecake and churro and chimichanga and strawberry sundae all rolled into one. Friendly service too. read more

We decided to dine at Mackey's as it was close to our accommodations in Payson, plus we saw that burgers got high ratings. I was in the mood for a great burger, so bring it on. We arrived on a Monday evening so it wasn't too busy. We selected seats on the patio since the weather was beautiful outdoors. Our menus arrived quickly from a friendly server and we placed our orders for beers. The menu was extensive and the burger selection good. I ordered the Verde Burger that had Anaheim chilies, pepper jack cheese, and the usual condiments. Instead of fries I ordered the low-fat pasta salad. My husband had the Caesar salad with chicken. I wanted this to be an amazing burger but to me it was just average. It was HUGE but just not jam packed with the flavor expected. My pasta salad was a bit light on the veggies, and it had too much dressing for my taste. The beer was ice cold and delicious. My husband's salad came with just two small pieces of chicken. Which was disappointing when you have to pay extra for it. Last, the outdoor environment was a bit lacking. I would have liked to have a few candles on the table or something to add a bit of lighting. It was pretty dark out there. Service alone added a full star. Quick and friendly servers are special. Excellent dinner option in Payson. Nice big place with lots of tables, very family friendly. We ordered: Small order of mild wings (6): came with a celery stick, 1 baby carrot and ranch dressing. Wings were really good but the honey flavor was a little overpowering (good nevertheless). I would have appreciated a couple more celery sticks and or carrots. We drove all the way to Payson to hike and have lunch.... but after a long hike didn't get to enjoy a beer and sandwich at all.... I understand them just opening because of corona virus but.... We waited outside for 20 minutes for someone to take our order and no one ever came over to wait on us.. Showed up to a ghost town on a Saturday night at 745. They close at 9. Our server acted like we were totally inconveniencing them by coming there for dinner. She didnt care one bit. We went to Macky's a few days ago for lunch because our three year old grandson wanted to. We sat on the patio, the staff knew we were there. We waited and waited to be waited after we were served our beverages to have our order taken. Finally after twenty minutes my husband went in to tell the staff we would like to have our order taken. He said there were several "waitresses" standing together talking. Visiting not waiting for orders or taking orders. Sadly we've experienced this at Macky's for us it's the norm, being waited on within a reasonable time is uncommon. read more

Stopped in our way through town and very happy we did. We were able to bring our two Pomeranians (one feisty) to the patio and enjoy the sunshine. This is exactly the kind of place we hope to find when we stray from chain restaurants! Wow! It was as if the chef was checking with my palate before cooking! The steamed veggies were exactly how I like them!! I usually order battered cod, take a couple of bites and eat the rest as steamed fish. I'm not a huge fan of fried foods, yet the batter steams fish quite well. The battered cod here was so good that my last couple of bites were the full battered! It was the best I've had in years! Wanted to try somewhere new, saw the great reviews of this place and already picked out what i wanted to eat before getting here. I had the Chicken Caesar wrap and their tasty chili as my side - it was all fantastic and fresh. In the never ending debate of "where should we eat?" Have you ever said to your spouse, "it's only an hour away."? I doubt it. But living in East Mesa that is something my wife and I have said about Mackys. Definitely get wings(medium sauce is awesome and not too spicy) and then from there I would recommend The Duke burger or The Cowboy Melt. If you have room for dessert, the Southwest Cheesecake is amazing. They are very dog friendly on their patio and provide water bowls if needed also. read more
