Their veggie quiche was so delicious! I love the ambience! Small and industrial vibe. Service was quick. Restroom is clean!

Carne quiche and delicious pickled cauliflower

Yum! I had no idea there was a Macrina in Kent. It is located towards the backroads to Tukwila, right by the warehouses with colorful numbers. Anyways I got the carne quiche, almond pinwheel, guava cream cheese hand pie, and mini carrot cake. All were pretty good! My favorite was the quiche and the side of pickled cauliflower. I don't even like cauliflowers but these were so delicious and totally unexpected when I opened my to go box. Highly recommend getting your quiche heated even if it's to-go. Probably the best quiche I've ever had! Just a nice balance of flavor, cheese & crispy crust! My least favorite was the guava hand pie. I thought this would have been my favorite but I didn't really care for the filling. I thought it would've been like a swirl of guava & cream cheese but it was blended together and it had the appearance of how dairy based fillings look when it's starting to separate. Kinda lumpy. Tasted decent though just not what I was expecting for the filling. Staff were friendly and patient! They seem to always have a line - short and fast moving though.

Decent place to get pastries and coffee. The food was under whelming, the quality of the means was okay, the bread was okay as it's a bakery. Maybe their sweets were better than there savories items. Wouldn't come back if I had to.

I had to stop mid pastry to make this review, I'm a food reviewer from Arizona and this is the best bakery I have ever been to. I would come back to Seattle just for this bakery. The atmosphere is simple and the service is top tier!

This is the best bakery in Washington, I don't care what anyone says. I used to be a baker in California, and I tried every other bakery there and none compare to Macrina. I tried every bakery that was recommended to me by Washington locals in my time there, and none of them compare to Macrina either. This place is legit. The mocha was better than all the coffee shops I tried while in Seattle too. Everything was clean and organized, the bathrooms were spotless, I can't say enough good things about this place. I wish there was just 1 Macrina back home.

We went here for breakfast on our next to last day in Seattle. The ambiance is what you would expect of a bakery. There were a few tables but it is mostly take out. The aromas of fresh breads and pastries is enticing. Everything was so good that we ended up eating in two waves. First wave, I had a bagel and cream cheese and a huge cup of tea. Second wave, I had an apple turnover. Both were excellent. The kid had a cup cake, the wife had a fried fruit pie and something else I don't remember, but everyone loved everything. Everything was very fresh and high quality. Service is good. You order at the counter and they either make it (in the case of a sandwich) or just get what you selected. Great place, I wish we had one in Dallas.

Airport dropoff with a side trip to the styrofoam recycling center brought us to Macrina's kent location for an early breakfast. What a treat! We ordered the bacon egg bialy and a morning glory muffin. Loved the muffin. The bialy was good, once we removed most of the onions (sooo many onions).

While hunting for an open brunch spot on Cyber Monday, I stumbled upon this adorable little cafe nestled in the heart of the Kent industrial district. I was surprised to find out that Macrina Bakery has expanded out of Seattle into the Eastside! This charming cafe is attached to the bread factory and you can watch their operations through the cafe window. They offer coffee, fresh pastries and breads, as well as a breakfast and lunch menu. They had a constant stream of customers the whole time I dined-in, and the staff were friendly and quick with the service. One star off because the bagel and chicken pot pie I got was very dry and bit burnt.

roly poly!

My visit was quick, but I felt welcomed by the friendly greetings and by the looks of the impressive display of enticing baked goods. I marveled at all the options and how artistic it all looked. I ordered a cinnamon bun, the roly poly (which is different from cinnamon bun in that it has walnuts, raisins, and coconut) , and the strawberry cheesecake. I loved it all!! I plan to go back, order from their drink menu, delight in a croissant and stay a while with a good book. Check them out, I definitely recommend it!

Nice place for breakfast on a weekday! Their ham egg sandwich was so good! I especially loved the thinly sliced ham. Other favorites are the orange hazelnut pastry and apricot pecan oatmeal cookie.

Almond pinwheel

Busy busy place where there's several parking spots that fill up quickly, even in a weekday morning. Lots of good options to try from. If you have time to eat breakfast or lunch there, there are a handful of tables inside and outside. Pretty good but not award winning pastries you'd mistake for Paris but a good option if close by!

It's clear why this place is so popular. The atmosphere was welcoming, the restaurant was very clean, and everything ran smoothly even during a busy rush. This is a family-owned restaurant, and our server/owner, Raman Aurora, truly made the experience special her mom also checked on us. She was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive, especially considering how busy the place was. She checked on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed and never made us feel rushed or forgotten. The level of hospitality was exceptional. We ordered the salmon omelette with house potatoes, along with pancakes from the kids' menu. The food arrived hot and fresh, and the portion sizes were huge, especially the salmon omelette. The amount of salmon in the omelette was very generous and impressive for such a reasonable price. You can tell they don't cut corners with quality or quantity. The house potatoes were perfectly cooked, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. One highlight was the homemade hot salsa, which was absolutely amazing fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. It paired perfectly with the omelette and really elevated the meal. They were also incredibly accommodating, especially since I had our 2 1/2-year-old nephew with me. They kindly gave us the seating I requested, which made our visit much more comfortable. They also gave him some goodies. The menu is excellent, with great variety, and the salmon omelette was highly recommended now I know why. Even though the restaurant was full and they were likely short-staffed, the service was efficient, organized, and friendly throughout our visit. It's rare to find a place that delivers great food, generous portions, fair prices, and outstanding service all at once. We were extremely impressed and will absolutely be back. Highly recommend Maggie on Meeker Breakfast to anyone looking for an amazing breakfast spot in Kent, Washington!

Karla came over right away and helped us with the kindest attitude. When we asked how to add sauces, she said, "They're free, just let me know which ones you want," and brought us two of each to try. It's so refreshing to visit a place that doesn't nickel and dime you. After placing our order, I realized I forgot to get a patty for our dog. Karla came by to check on us, and when I told her, she said she would make sure it came out with our food. It actually came out a few minutes before, which was perfect so our dog could eat first. That level of care really stood out. As for the food, everything was delicious. The loaded fries were savory and rich with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the truffle fries with greens were a nice balance. The orange juice was honestly one of the best I've had. It was fresh, tangy, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The space itself is bright, open, and welcoming. There are games at every table, and it's both dog friendly and family friendly. We'll definitely be back. Karla, thank you for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Today I decided to change up my usual routine and ordered the waffle with eggs and sausage--plus, of course, an English muffin with peanut butter . I was not disappointed. The waffle was absolutely delicious: light and tender on the inside with the perfect crispness on the outside. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage links were flavorful, and the English muffin was toasted just right. As always, the coffee was excellent and the service was outstanding. My family and I were in the area and decided to give Mary's Fine Food a try after hearing good…read morethings about it. Pulling into the parking lot, I have to admit I wondered if my GPS had developed a sense of humor. The restaurant sits in an older strip mall that doesn't exactly scream "destination dining," but the inside has a cozy, old-school Texas diner feel that was actually pretty charming. Unfortunately, convincing my two kids that this was a better choice than IHOP turned into a losing battle almost immediately. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, which, in kid time, is roughly equivalent to serving a prison sentence. Every five minutes I was reminded that pancakes at IHOP would have already been eaten, digested, and forgotten by then. To be fair, the food was good. I ordered the Philly Scramble, and my wife ordered the California Eggs Benedict. The quality was solid, but the pricing left me scratching my head. The California Eggs Benedict, which came with tomato, avocado, and bacon, was nearly $30. For comparison, I've paid less for Eggs Benedict at places in downtown Seattle. Seeing a $28.99 Eggs Benedict in a strip mall in Kent felt like finding luxury hotel prices at a gas station convenience store. The pricing surprises didn't stop there. There are extra charges for things like splitting orders, automatic gratuity, and add-ons. We had asked for strawberries with the French toast, which may have contributed to the final bill, but it wasn't entirely clear when I reviewed the receipt. Unfortunately, the handwriting on the check was difficult to read, making it hard to understand exactly how everything was itemized. Since I wasn't completely sure what had already been included, I ended up leaving an additional tip just to avoid accidentally shorting someone. By the end, breakfast for our family came out to around $115. Now, credit where it's due: the service itself was friendly, and once the food arrived, everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I can see why people like this place. The restaurant has a unique charm and definitely feels different from the typical chain breakfast spot. Overall, Mary's Fine Food serves good food and has a pleasant atmosphere, but the long wait times and pricing felt hard to justify for a family breakfast. Three stars. Not a bad meal, but next time my kids vote for IHOP, they may actually win the family election.

Finally checked out West Hill Deli! Absolutely loved their food and ambiance…read more For food, we got the adobo pork belly (comes with macaroni salad, rice, and vegetables on the side) and the pandan fried chicken (comes with rice and veggies on the side). Pandan was super crispy and rice was soft, not mushy. Adobo was rich in garlic and in smoky and sweet flavor. Love they kept the fat on some adobo pieces. Each dish was just enough for us to finish for breakfast. For drinks, we ordered the calamansi juice and calamansi iced tea. Both taste great. Side notes: You order up front, bring your table number, and sit wherever you like. They will bring you your food. Once youre done, please put your food away in the back, which is located on the left hand side of the deli if youre facing the deli at the entryway. It was busy on a Sunday around noon. About an hour if youre just there to have a quick meal, but families were gathering and spending time with no rush which i loved. The ube pancakes were delicious soft, slightly sweet, and definitely a fun treat. Fair warning though, they will leave your teeth a little purple for a bit but honestly worth it. I also got the ube coffee and... YUM. Such a good combo with the pancakes. Overall, everything was solid and full of flavor. I'd definitely come back, especially for that pork sisig. I will definitely be coming here again! There are a lot of options for food which can be a little overwhelming. However, it is VERY reasonably priced. $15 for a toast is wild but that's how cafes price things everywhere. However, other cafes smear some avocado on toast and add a tomato and charge you $15, here they give you a whole meal with an egg on top, cucumbers and tomatoes, avocado, and more. It actually feels like it's worth your money. The coffee is good even though it's not too unique. I feel like they used to be a specialty coffee shop before they turned to the crepe/cafe scene. The coffee was very sweet though so I would highly recommend getting it half sweet. The crepe is good, stuffed well and worth the price. It is obviously sweet as well so it's hard to drink a very sweet coffee with a sweet crepe. The barista was kind and helpful with any questions I had when ordering. She cleaned off a table for us, but then told me I needed to hurry up and order because she didn't want other people getting upset about how long it would take me to decide. I didn't respond and simply waited until we were ready to order, which only took about four minutes. What confused and upset me was that shortly after, a white man came in and she told him he could sit down, take his time, and order whenever he was ready because "it's not busy." The difference in treatment was very noticeable and honestly made me uncomfortable as an African-American woman. Maybe this was a misunderstanding, but the interaction did not sit right with me. I believe every customer should be treated with the same patience and respect, especially first-time customers who are simply trying to understand how the restaurant works.
