One of these to be on your list, is or should be, Premier Meat Pies (or PMP) If the name sounds familiar, they have locations at the very touristy destinations of the Seattle Center Armory (i.e. Center House for us old school folks) on the historic Seattle Waterfront. Owned by Nathan and Karen Bainbridge, PMP inhabitants the strategic and beloved location in Renton's Downtown area on 3rd Avenue and Main. This is the spiritual homebase of the PMP brand, and Renton residents, and diners, are glad its here. Their unique pies are formed by hand from machines that are, literally, over 100 years old. But PMP puts their own modern twist to the classics. They have both savory and sweet pies. I particularly enjoyed their Guiness Sheppard's Pie with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and lager based gravy. A tasty side salad is recommended to keep you honest as you cleanse your palate for other offerings. Adult beverages for your order? I wanted to try their pies, after seeing multiple ads on IG. The Tacoma location was empty at 5 pm, which was great for me, but would probably be an indication of their food. The interior was very bright and appeared clean. I was quickly greeted by the only employee in the front. I asked the employee which she recommended and ordered one of her "favorites," the steak and mushroom. I also ordered the Sheppard's pie. We really wanted to try this place for a long time now and last Friday we finally did! We had a great experience here, the staff which is Jesse James is knowledgeable and super nice! He makes us feel so welcome even our dog Olive. The restaurant was not packed but there were diners and customers who came in to order Togo. The interior was bright and spacious, they have TV's so it might be a good place to watch sports game. We ordered steak and mushroom pie but the server said it will take like 20 to 25 minute wait so we opted to order the Guinness pie and the beef and cheese pie but the pies that we ordered are all delicious and filling! The chili is yummy, the caprese salad is refreshing and the desert which is the crème brûlée is beautifully and elegantly presented. The flavor achieves a harmonious balance between sweetness of the sugar and the richness of the custard, the texture is smooth, silky and creamy without any graininess. I love it! (we ordered another crème brûlée Togo). What makes this place stands out was making a special drink for me which is not in their drink selection. The "wow" factor is the unexpected flavor combination which makes it a unique experience. I will highly recommend this place. This was our first time here and my wife and I had excellent food and service! We came for a Yelp Elite Experience and while there we purchased a few other things. The food is fantastic in a filling and tasty way. The food is "stick to your guts" good and goes great with watching a game or drinking a beer (or both!). Along with my pie I also ordered a side bowl of chili cuz I knew I needed more food! My wife had the Guinness Irish Stew Pie topped with Caramelized Onions and a side of the Tomato Basil Soup. She only ate half and doggie-bagged the rest so I can enjoy the rest at home! (Double Score!). The inside is very large with a front dining area and the bar area that has the coolest animal artwork on the walls. The server told us the artwork is based on British storybook characters and the paintings were done by a local artist for them. We suggested to the waitress that they could offer copies or originals of this artwork for sale to customers. We'd buy some. Also, some of their highlighted drinks are made based on these exact characters. The rest of the bar looked like a large fun area for watching a sporting event. They had posters on the windows advertising sports watching parties and food and drink specials. The also have 2 other locations in Poulsbo and at a pier on the Seattle Waterfront. We asked them open one up North of downtown and the waitress said it's been discussed but they just expanded this Renton location so it may be a while. It was our first time at this location and we were not disappointed. We ordered Scottish pie which came with gravy and mashed potatoes, a Guinness Pot Pie which was topped with caramelized onions with a side of tater tots, and beer. The portions of each were perfect - I shared the Scottish pie with my two toddlers and it was enough for the three of us, although, the tater tots were also a hit with my two kids. The tater tots were of crispiness perfection. As for the price, it is a bit steep but that's expected these days. The establishment isn't big but is spacious enough. We brought our stroller in and it fit us fine,, though scanning the area, it looks like they also had a high chair to offer. You can also view their production area through a window. Because we came in on a Saturday at around noon, the production line sat empty although it would have been cool to see them making the pies! Street parking is the only parking available but it is free. We had to park a block away but the walk wasn't bad at all since we were able to scan for other establishments (aka dessert) for after we had our lunch. I am glad that this place seems to be doing well, they have been open for a while now and I have tried them twice. This last time was great and I am glad to see the improvements from my previous time, which was meh! They seem to have perfected their food, which is exciting. This trip, I tried the Scottish pie, ordered some pea salad and our server suggested the corn dip, which is not on the menu! My co-worker ordered the sausage roll. Overall, very good. I really enjoyed each of the items and could eat the corn dip with a spoon, although their sourdough bread was warm, soft and delicious way to get the dip into my mouth. The pea salad was delicious. This place was interesting. At 6:45pm on a Monday, it was completely empty. The bar looked cool and inviting so we stopped in. The cocktail she suggested was $20 but it was pretty good. PMP is an excellent addition to Renton downtown!! I've watched them set up shop and figured they wouldn't have things that I want, but they do! Really nice vibe walking in. Super clean with an open feeling. I found the bar and happily took a seat. So many TVs in such a small space! The bartender was awesome, great personality for the service industry and knows how to make a drink! I knew that they had a liquor license while going in, but I didn't expect the drinks to be as fancy as they were! The Black Hound, which is similar to a fancy old fashion, came to my table with the bartender preparing to light the wood chips and add in a nice smoky flavour. There are a bunch of pies to choose from and you can get it as is or as a meal - which includes a side and a topping. The mac & cheese pie was absolutely delightful with a great caprese on the side so I could pretend that I was eating semi-healthy. The one downside I can come up with is that it's a bit pricey compared to other restaurants. This won't prevent me from at least grabbing a drink here until I've had the whole menu! read more

Who doesn't love a well made meat pie? Certainly not me, as I enjoyed a fresh and tasty beef and mushroom pie for lunch a few days back, accompanied by a simple but pleasant house salad with ranch. At first, I thought the pie was rather small but, once I opened it up, it was just perfect as a lunch entree. I had the fortunate chance of coming here for a Yelp Elite Event to try out one of their classic Scottish pies so we came here on a weekend. My boyfriend and I arrived here a little after 3pm on Saturday to partake in their happy hour. There was no parking in front of the restaurant but there was luckily one space open behind the restaurant. I was really interested in this event and am thankful I was selected to experience this business as my boyfriend loves savory pies and I haven't really tried any. Additionally, it seems they serve other European foods, drinks, and desserts and I want to expand on my European cuisine as we don't have many where we live. As a heads up, they allow only service dogs. I called and inquired at first as Yelp stated that dogs are allowed but only service dogs. They do have water bowls for dogs however, which I thought was sweet. We arrived and we were greeted with a sign that said to seat yourself. We looked and saw that they had a regular dining room and a bar area with seating at the bar as well as tables and chairs. We stayed in the dining room as it is the first room you enter and sat ourselves at a table with booth seats. The dining room was decorated with art and photos of popular European sports players or the sport itself and animals that paired well with the overall aesthetic of their navy blue, eggshell/ivory, and gray colors. Our server Jessie J. greeted us politely and professional with menus and brought us some water to sip while we were browsing their menu. They have quite the extensive alcohol menu that will please everyone from cocktails, wines, ciders, beer, whiskies, and non-alcohol drinks or mocktails! He was very knowledgeable about the menu despite being recently hired employee! We ended up ordering a Shirley Temple, Cherry Lemonade, Caramelized Onion and Dungeness Crab Dip (happy hour), mini sausage rolls, and a steak and mushroom savory pie. The drinks came pretty quickly after our order and we were very happy with the drinks. The cherry lemonade was tart and the cherry flavor wasn't overly sweet or overpowering, and this is coming from someone who usually despises cherry flavored stuff. However, you don't really see cherry lemonade as an option so I was curious but very pleased with the taste and presentation. My boyfriend's Shirley Temple was made to refreshing perfection as well. After several minutes, we received our appetizers which was the crab dip and mini sausage rolls. The sausage rolls were a flaky and savory experience and the sauce that comes with it just elevates the taste to a whole new level. For the crab dip, it has have been one of our favorite dips ever as it was seasoned just right and the crab taste came through without it being too salty. I do wish the caramelized onions were chopped a bit more as there was a few long pieces that looked almost like broken fettucine noodles (almost thought it was non-edible). The toasted baguette was a fantastic accompaniment and we took the leftovers home to enjoy with some saltine crackers and it was still just as delicious. Now, it took over half an hour to receive our entrees and it wasn't that we were on a big time crunch but we weren't expecting to be there for an hour and forty minutes. There were maybe two people who were seated at the bar and a few more individuals came in after us to go to the bar. We're glad we ordered some appetizers as we would have been really hungry by the time we received our food. The presentation of our savory pies were gorgeous when it did arrive and both of them had a captivating scent to them. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and gravy that came with my classic Scottish pie which was stuffed with ground beef, oats, and traditional seasoning. I definitely used the remaining gravy to eat with my pie and putting the topping together with the meat pie is such a great idea. I can see why they have an epic pie experience which comes with a pie, topper and side has its own menu space. Despite the size of a Costco size muffin, this pie was filled with goodies and left me very satisfied. My boyfriend devoured his steak and mushroom pie and said it was everything he had hoped for and met his expectation of being a great savory pie. We already know what we want to get next, which is their lamb curry, Tillamook mac and cheese, and The Seattle Cornish Style pastries. The bathrooms here were well-kept and clean, plus the signs are just a fun touch (Blokes and Lassies). They have signs for people on Tinder or Plenty of Fish users to assist with them out of an awkward or dangerous situation. I appreciate that immensely and it's nice to know there is a restaurant/bar that will help people in unfortunate situations to be safe. I had a wonderful experience here. Inside was well decorated and quiet for a Thursday evening. Perfect for my husband and I. We had to park a couple blocks away which wasn't ideal but the weather was nice. The food is really scrumptious. I tried 4 different pies and all had great flavor and were a heart portion. Each pie is about $12. I tried Hatch Chili, Mac n Cheese, Shepards Pie and Scottish Cottage Pie. I think my favorite was the cottage pie topped with mashed potatoes and gravy. Yummy! This British based restaurant/bar in Renton is amazing, to start, but let's go into detail. They have a generous happy hour, every day, from 3pm-6pm and then again from 9pm-to close. All of their gravy's & sauces, from Bangers & Mash to their Meatpies, is made from scratch. The resulting taste will have you picking your plate at the end, trust me. Our server, Susie, was very friendly, engaging, and accommodating. When she found out we were shortly going to watch a sports game after eating at Meatpies, she offered to turn the game on for us, so we could enjoy our meal at leisure. By herself, she was able to serve and engage every patron in a timely manner, in a lively manner. She's also very knowledgeable about the unique food making process found at Meatpies. As mentioned before, the ambiance here is of a British pub but in a modern sense. Pleasant music plays in the background as you get to enjoy British pub wall decorations or whatever happens to be on the TV. We were drawn in by the bright neon signs advertising Premier Meat Pies. What we got was incredibly friendly service from Jesse James, and the tastiest chicken pie we have ever had. The rosemary cream sauce was so so good! We also had the steak and mushroom pie. It was so flavorful with the red wine sauce, tender steak chunks and savory hints on onion. We had a great time and will definitely come back next time we are in the Renton area. read more

Delicious pies! They have sweet, savory, even vegetarian options- which is what I had and it did not disappoint.
