Cod
Susan N.

My family's favorite stop for fish and chips. My husband came from a coastal city with easy access to delicious fish and chips and this is a close as we can get for the fish. Americans usually have thinner fries but these would also be great with some slap chips or fries that are thicker, softer, - even on the "soggier" side. But it's good either way. The batter isn't seasoned or so it seems, so the fish is finished off with a touch of course salt after it comes out the fryer. Most of the time it needs more salt except this time, as you can see from the picture. Service is generally quick. A few tables inside and in the summertime, some outside. Small parking lot but usually people are picking up to go so there's usually space.

Clams

Parking was small and people do fight for their spots.. Lol had a quick driver just steal my spot so I had to circle back around. Interior is small as well, some places to sit but I prefer outside as I can people watch and just enjoy the weather. I do wish there was a station outside for at least some water and condiments, napkins and etc. Reasoning is because of the interior being small, and there is always a line, which is amazing for business. Just too much for asking for more ketchup or napkins Clams were a tad too fried for my taste and the amount I got was very small for the price. Cod basket that I got was very good. Not oily, perfect crisp, batter is not too fluffy, and seasoning was average. It paired well with the tarter sauce! Fries were pretty good, not as crispy as I'd like it but it worked.

Cheese curbs and fried Shrimp

I recently visited and was blown!! The cheese curbs were perfectly fried, with a golden-brown crust that offered a satisfying crunch with each bite. The gooey, melty cheese inside was rich and flavorful, making it impossible to stop at just one. the fried golden dark shrimp. These succulent morsels were cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. The highlight was definitely a squeeze of fresh lemon over the shrimp, which elevated the dish to a whole new level! The bright acidity cut through the richness, making each bite refreshing and addictive.

Halibut on theleft & walleye on the right!
Vonny K.

For walleye & halibut with fresh cut fry's I'd pay $18.95 any day of the week! I was paying $20 or more for 1 filet of crappy walleye in WI Mac's will be my go to for fish! 4/5

Walleye
Jack M.

We ordered the fried Walleye. The batter was nicely crispy and thick with the right amount of oil. The walleye was well executed and flaky. The fish itself had a bit of a pool flavor (characteristic of underseasoned freshwater fish). The housemade rosemary vinaigar was excellent. It carried the aroma of fresh rosemary well.

Walleye basket
Gygy S.

The French fries were cold and soggy and had no flavor w salt. The fish had good flavor but soggy and super oily. The cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't the best and most people did takeout. The temperature of the place was freezing cold. Service was ok they were helpful with our questions. I got the walleye basket and husband got the fish tacos the fresh mango pico de gallo was way to much on the taco and was more of a glop of the sauce and made the taco soggy. I wasn't a fan of the key lime jalapeño sauce either.

They have the best fried walleye in the twin cities. No salt water taffy this time. But that's always an extra side sweet.

Fantastic! I am familiar with Potter's food truck, yet I have never visited the storefront. Pasties…read moreare common in the south west of England, UK. The pies are baked with a variety of fillings from sweet to savory. I was pleasantly surprised with the setup. The space shares a home front with a very cool liquor store and then the Potter's side has all the products you would expect to see on the food truck. Serving pasties, pies, ice cream and even coffee, this shop does it all. There are some nice lunch specials which I believe come with salad, chips and a soft drink and many al la carte options. The interior is not big at all, so I recommend grabbing to go. Contrary, there are a few exterior tables outside including the liquor store patio. I opted for the pig which was pulled pork, apples, onions and coriander. It was out of this world good and reminded me of fall and a little overlap with the Renaissance Festival. Staff will heat the product up if you're dining in otherwise you can get frozen options as well. This also includes the pies. I also got one of the specialty pie slices to go and similar to above, if you plan to eat it in the moment, you will receive a thawed piece, otherwise frozen. I got the frozen, placed it in my fridge, and ate it the next day. It was also very good. While I didn't take advantage of the ice cream, I saw that you can take any pie flavor of the day and staff will mix it into either a shake or malt on your behalf. Fun!

Both were delicious. I like dark beers and these two didn't make me feel fatigue or heavy / bloated. The vibe is a little grunge, a little beer hally, and a little rock all combined into one. They have a ton of live music throughout the month although my trip, which was 530pm on a Tuesday didn't include any. They have a garden / smoking section out back with 3-4 picnic benches that felt really huge. I could definitely come back and would even consider a show here. Reason why I knock it down from 3 stars to 2 is because when we walked in, one of the managers gave us such a dirty look. And when we said hi, he gave a half hearted smile and turned back to doing his audits. Sure, everyone has a bad day. And perhaps he was reacting to something different. Nevertheless, I was ready to get my drink and be out. Was hungry and wanted food but decided rather spend my money elsewhere.

Food 4/5: the green beans were light and crispy. The ranch was my favorite dipping sauce but the other sweet and sour sauce was also an interesting (positive salty sweet) compliment. The poutine was very heavy overall. The complement of the curds with the gravy and meat was good, but could be a meal in itself. The kids got the pizza and a burger, both portion sizes very large. The fries were very crispy! I got the power bowl. The lettuce was soaked in dressing, which the dressing had good flavor it was just too much. I would get it again but ask for dressing on the side. Looking at the picture we knew we had to give it try. What cool comfortable place with lots of history behind the building. The owner served us lunch and provided a history behind the restaurant, the recipes and where they get their food products. Their bread is local and their meat is from Usinger's in Milwaukee, WI. I love that place and their products. Well let's get onto the food. I was brave and had the Smoked Liverwurst. Hadn't had it for 30 years. Since I went fishing with my grandfather. Boy it was awesome and brought back some memories. The owner gave me large slices of bread so I could make a sandwich. The mustard and fresh onions made it! My two colleagues were craving hot dogs, so they went with the Yoerg Sandwich. It's the flagship sandwich. A quartier pound dog with German cheese and a pickle spear. It was huge and tasty to say the least. It was only $9.95. Great price for lunch these days. We also had to share a pretzel that came with cheese and mustard. This has earned a spot on our lunch rotation.

No big deal, we followed the signs and located the new location, which is tucked off the road in an odd sort of retail center. Unfortunately, we discovered that the new location shares a space with an Italian cafe or bistro type of restaurant. There is a good amount of wine available, which makes sense I guess. But the beer selection, which used to be among the best-curated and most unique in the area, is now not even worth the stop. The walk-in cooler for beer is a sad, sad state of affairs, especially if you know what the selection used to be like. Certainly, if wine is your thing, I'm sure there's something passable if you need a bottle to go with dinner or take to a party. But if you're looking for beer, move on to a different store. Hit Thomas Liquors or Ale Jail in St. Paul. Sadly, everything that made Sunfish a unique beer lovers' destination is no more. We are truly sad about it. This was one of our favorite hidden gems in the Twin Cities. As an aside, we also were not impressed by the service. When we walked in, a girl rushed up to us and asked if we needed help. I highly suspect she thought we were going to steal something. It did not make us feel welcomed. And then she straight-up lied to us. She told us that most of the beer from the old location had been brought over, which is absolutely not true. I am truly sad to say we will not be back.
