I realized I'd locked my only set of car keys in my car in my garage. I called right after closing time and they were at my house within 45 minutes! A couple weeks later truck keys wont work WITH KEYS. Called Macs Lock and keys they said tow it down here. Said they already knew the part that needed to be fixed without checking it out. They quouted $125.00 over the phone. Then when my dad showed up said it would be $400.00. Now truck is towed there. Battery dies. My dad replaced the part they said. He asked to barrow a tool they had ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE DIDNT EVEN GO LOOK AT TRUCK. My dad changes part himself. Keys stil DONT WORK. Now days later I go in and ask why they wouldn't help my dad ONCE AGAIN ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They take zero accountability for anything because NOTHING is their fault. Even though I see similiar issues with customer service and way off qoutes on online reviews. They say we won't let them look at the truck well yeah my dad was there and you wouldnt go look at it. Also someone pushed mirrors in on the truck when we got there. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY OFF ABOUT THE WORK THATS BEING DONE HERE BE SUPER CAREFUL DOING BUSINESS HERE. I'm not sure why Jon gave a 1 star review, because my experience was awesome. I called yesterday at 430pm in regards to a man door that would't latch shut, they quoted me $40 for the service calls (verses $75 by other locksmiths), made it to my home bright and early the next day and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes. the total was only $55 bucks and the door is working fine. The other thing I really loved is when I called they actually answered the phone and it wasn't some call center out of the country that routed me to some guys running around in his van that you don't know if they are honest or not. Stay with local companies and protect yourself from the scammers out there and use Mac;s Lock & Key!!!! read more

Where do I even begin with this crappy place? I'd bought a car the day before from the dealer across the street, who referred me to here and said to mention them for a referral discount for a key copy. For starters, they gave me absolutely no discount, making some excuse like "we don't do that for this type of key." In fact, they ended up charging me DOUBLE of what it would have cost at say Dick's Ace--it cost me $150.00 for one copy of my car key. For another thing, they were not professional at all. Nobody greeted me when I walked in. They had a whole conversation about getting lunch and such right in front of me, hardly acknowledging me, and complained when the key copy refused to code or something and said to each other they needed the guy they sent to get lunch for them to come back to help. And there he was, out in the cold December wind in the middle of the parking lot of Station Park when he realized his car key was worn out and would not unlock his 2000 Mustang. With the night coming close and the snow rolling in he had no other option than to call a local locksmith to help him get in. ALAS! Mac's Lock and Key did appear after promising 25 minutes away but appeared in less than 10! Ty was his name but it could have been St. Nick because of the speed! Ty replaced the key fob after testing its ability. Ty needed to use the lock out kit on this fancy mobile. I needed a deadbolt rekeyed so that the key that worked the doorknob would also work on the deadbolt. I took the lock off of the door and went to Mac's Lock and Key with it. The locksmith at Mac's was able to get it done in a half-hour. Same day service!! Works perfectly. Now I just need to carry one key. read more

No communication from them and time frame was not what they promised. I got my ignition cylinder back for my motorcycle that I gave to them to make a copy of a key. The ignition cylinder is damaged and the key doesn't work. read more

I had a the part of the key that holds it onto the ring break. The dealer said it would need a new key, but the chip was good. He gave me the key blank. I took it to Mac's and they said they would only use their key even though it was the same key blank in the same package and said it would be $50. He was very dismissive and said I would be back and nobody would do it cheaper. I called a mobile service and they were willing to do it for 10 dollars and a local hardware store was able to copy the key for $2. I then spent two minutes and transferred to chip from one key to the next. So is you want attitude and to be gouged Mac's is they place to go. If you want friendly and helpful service you might want to look someplace else. I have just bought a house in the area and I can tell you who will not be the business I will be getting my locks changed with. read more

We needed to just have a new door knob and deadbolt installed. They provide a quote and then give random additions in price after work is complete. They also damaged BOTH brand new doors during installation. Their suggestion to their caused damage was wood glue... When talking to them about this damage their response was to hang up the phone. So much for thinking of the customer. Plenty of options out there people. Choose someone else. read more

Was quoted $90.00 for my daughters car key. Sent her down and they charged her $130 seems to be the way these guys do business. Get you in the door and then over charge you. It would have been the same amount from the dealer. read more

Wow. I can not believe what happened when I attempted to use macs. I went in, dropped an ignition cylinder off and they said it would be about 30 mins. I left, ran some errands and came back over an hour later. I walked in and didn't even say anything, sat down and waited for the guy in front of me to be done. Then an employee looked at me and said it's not done yet, then I said ok do you know how it's coming? And the employee said "I don't even know man the guy doing it just went to lunch" and he said it with quite an attitude. So I said "well ok but work on your customer service skills" then another employee told me to get the hell out of their store. I was with my 17 year old brother at the time and he said "well you don't need to be rude" then the employee that I was originally talking to said "I'll show you rude" at which point some words were exchanged between him and I and another employee told us again to "get the hell out". So if you want to have your underaged family threatened by violence, then by all means go here. I was completely appalled. read more

I have been to this company on about 4 different occasions. I don't know that I have ever been to a company that has worse customer service. Every time that I have been there, I feel like I am putting them out. They act ornery and don't seem to care to help. They just want my money and me out of their place. The most recent issue was when I came to get a key copied. I came in about 10 minutes before closing. I asked for a copy of my car key, the kid (may have been about 19) took the key, looked at it, gave it back and just said "No time. Come back tomorrow after 8am". The tone was very condescending and acted very annoyed that I even asked. Before I could say anything, he handed me the key and walked away. I called back to him as he walked away and just asked how long it takes to copy a key. He said at least 30 minutes. I then figured he thought I had a key that was chipped. I told him it wasn't a chipped key and he came back and said (flatly) "let me see it". He took it from me and started to test it in a machine. Afterwards, he made me my two copies. I took them outside and the key would not work. He walked out behind be (it had just turned 5pm, so they closed) and he saw me struggling to get it to work. He just ignored me, talked to his buddies, and drove away. I didn't expect him to cut me a new copy. But 30 seconds to try it himself would be nice. I came back the next day and had someone else cut me a new set of keys that worked. While I was there, the person that I assumed was the owner, was very grouchy to one of his employees over the phone. I just find this place very unprofessional. They treat their customers like a bother and they are rude. I could go on about each visit that I have been there. I always leave thinking that they are the rudest people I have ever met. I have finally made my decision to never come back to that business again. read more
