Probably the worst barbecue I've eaten. Everything came out to us cold. The fried okra and sweet potato fries were soggy like they had made a big batch earlier in the evening and just served from the batch as customers ordered. The meat just fell off the bone off the wings. The small plate pulled pork was amazing with the red slaw. Not a Mac and cheese fan but tried it, and still not a fan. Fried pickles were good but common, so I recommend a different appetizer. Staff was friendly and attentive. I didn't leave hungry, that's for sure. Will be back. read more

I would like to update my review to add that. I was contacted by a member of management and basically told that they had just opened that location and were short staffed. I was pretty much told that they would do better for the next guests. What about my family and our horrible experience. Not once did they try to rectify the situation. Excited to try this restaurant for a family members birthday. Menu looked great, ambiance good. Great viewing angles for sports on plenty of tv's. Unfortunately bad food reviews from our table. The brisket and pulled pork tacos, which I had, were very good. Three members of our party got burgers. Sadly every burger was extremely burnt and inedible. My 2 year old child scarfed down the Mac and Cheese luckily as I couldn't serve him the brick of a burger he revived. I'm hopeful it was just a bad few minutes for the kitchen. I have been to every Mac's Speed Shop...this one is MILES BELOW the others. Food was OK at best...much drier and less flavor than the other location. Service was also very unorganized, had to wait 20 minutes for a single drink and then waitress waited longer to take order. I do not recommend THIS LOCATION. read more

Here's the thing.... The only item that is really worth mentioning is the burnt ends. Unfortunately.. they are never consistent and I'm so tired of being served Luke warm food after waiting over 45 min for my food. I was greeted or shall I say not greeted.. a guy turned around looked at my partner and I and went on . Isn't that just the nicest thing (Cornelius, NC)! Second location, was greeted, better, but eh. The Host and Server were holding a conversation and sat us once they finished. Then proceed to sit us right behind the kitchens door... As far as service from the server Patience, meh. I say this b/c she simply just took orders, hardly suggested anything, was going thru the motions of being at work.. hooray !! She got our drink orders and let me tell y'all somethin' they were terrible plus they were final sales - management. Not a shocker overheard him yelling at the employees in the back (quick reminder to where I'm dinning for the evening! ) I tried to drink my first drink but it tasted like juice with a splash of liquor in it. I simply asked for the sangria, that was better but wayyy too sweet. Don't get / eat deviled eggs at a restaurant its a disappointment. Plating was mediocre and bland. We also ordered hushpuppies, which tasted slightly burnt, but the oil could've been a lil' too warm... idk. On to the entrees, I ordered the smokehouse dip ( french dip with brisket) it was decent don't typically eat meat , but I'll give it a try when I can. My original choice was a salad but it was way to over priced, especially considering no one really looked happy to be there and the bathroom smelt HORRIBLE! Just left the restaurant after being seated for a good 20min without receiving any beverages. As we made the front staff aware of this all they said was "sorry about that". No offer of making it right. This is a place that's been our go to restaurant but not anymore. There are too many other great options out there. read more

I have eaten here twice in the past two weeks. Once on a Friday around 1 and on Sunday at 11:30. Both visits I had the same order, small pulled pork platter with Mac and Cheese and tots. I did this on purpose so see how consistent they are. My first visit was great as the food was excellent and the presentation was spot on. The sides were good and hot but the pork was barely warm. The second visit was good also but the pork was swimming in the sauce they serve it in and all the food at best was luke warm. Surprising being they had just opened. They say we still have to wait to be seated. Wait, wait some more. People leave. Not one person has been seated 40 minutes later. We ask what is going on nicely. Finally they tell us the kitchen is slammed and they are at least 45 minutes behind. The band is playing and sounds great so we ask if we can go out and listen and just order drinks. Nope. Any place would, one would think, want to keep people there. Let them drink. Throw some free chips in even for their patience. Anything to keep customers from leaving. No. We were starving. Finally gave up ( we were probably the 15th 16th people to walk out), went two doors down and had a great meal. I give one star for the cool decor and one for the great band that I would have loved listening to. read more

The waiter came and we said we needed a minute before ordering since we had never been there before. We then waited 15 minutes for him to return. We didn't even see him around to wave him down. First of all, I want to see the service was wonderful that we had. With that being said, let's move onto the food. I wish I would've taken pictures. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and it came with four small pieces with hardly any chicken in it. The flavor was good but it was ridiculous for $12. A friend of ours got the cheeseburger which was supposed to be a half a pound and if you look at other peoples pictures on yelp, it was no bigger than a quarter pound cheeseburger. French fries and tater tot's tasted old and like they've been cooked an old grease. The way things are soooo expensive right now I won't waste my money here again. It's too bad cause I've heard from other people that it use to be good but I guess restaurants are mistaken and think they can do this snd people will come back.
