Where do I start? We've been in the Charlotte are for four months and haven't been very lucky with restaurants. This place is the same. First, servers had their fingers all in the plates they deliver with a menu. They never gave us setups until the food was cold. My sister sent her Cuban back because literally only one tiny slice of deli ham. My quesadillas were good but had to wait until I got a knife to use. Then they were cold. But tasty. Ordered Uber eats, 2 orders of deviled eggs, each order was in a flip box and the eggs where all over the place, 1 order was short 1 had to scoop the mixture and the bacon bits back I to the eggs horrible! The sides weren't filled up, basically 3/4 except the Mac n cheese which was the only dish that was any good. My 1 shrimp taco was in same type of container and all over the place with 2 little shrimp. 16.00 for burnt ends which half where just pieces of fat and inedible. The quantity for 16.00 stunk. ORDERED 1 sausage with mustard, no mustard and the sausage was soo burnt and tasted like a dirty grill. Spit out into napkin so bad. If I could give no stars i would. This Mac's location was a terrible experience from beginning to end. Had to wait 20 mins for a table when the place was almost empty. We were finally sat next to a group that reeked of marijuana. Not a pleasant dining experience to say the least. After waiting 12 minutes for our server to take the orders of the guys that were high as kites we were finally greeted. They were out of many items on the menu so I decided to not eat. So I can't review the food. What I can say is that I won't be back. Terrible awful locations. read more

Russ is the best! My mom came to visit and we had been looking forward to our dinner at Mac's. Unfortunately, my puppy wound up in the ER and took up a lot of time. We wound up having to leave him overnight, and didn't get to Mac's until 10pm. Russ was our server, and he had no idea what had happened earlier that evening, but his service and kindness changed the night and helped me get through. I only picked at my meal, and when I asked for a to go box and some containers for sauce, he went out of his way to take the sauce back and put it in the containers for me. He constantly checked in, and always had a smile on his face. Easily the kindest and absolute best server I've ever had in ANY restaurant. Make sure to ask for him! read more

Our waitress was Chloe and she was super attentive, definitely glad we got her as our waitress! This restaurant has the vibe of a Harley bar lol. Anyway, the food is so good. I don't eat pork so I missed out on the Brunswick stew and got the beef and bean chili which was a hit, topped with cheese! The cornmeal shrimp platter with fried okra and greens, YUM! My daughter enjoyed the mac and cheese and at such a young age she is a connoisseur for the mac so that says a lot. The sweet tea was even good. My hubs got the brisket sandwich and raved about it. Given that this restaurant is fairly new I had high hopes. The layout is nice and very spacious if you're not into crowded restaurants. The staff is nice and quickly seated us. But the food...The only thing I would recommend is the "MACARITA" and the hushpuppies. My burger's bun was overly toasted and my sweet potato fries didn't come out with out meal. The 1/4 chicken is decent but thankfully not dry as it looks. The mac n cheese was gritty and the collards were too salty and tasted like it came straight out of the can. I want to start off by saying my wait person was pleasant and kind. Now to the food I just had food at this location tonight at around 6:20. The burnt ends came out like warm to start. I ordered the shared platter for $37 dollars. The food came to the table the brisket was old along with the remaining meats and served like warm. Spoke with the manager and he re made the food with the same results with no seasoning. I'm not seeing what others are in reference to this food. It was nasty and bland and I would rate it a zero if I could. If you have some cash you like to throw away then this is the spot. Didn't get the full and correct order. Was never checked on and therefore didn't get a chance to let them know. Every time the waitress came by she didn't stop walking while talking to us. Would've easily picked up that we were pissed. The place wasn't even busy. Food was not great. Burger tasted like charcoal. Chicken was dry. Sausage was fatty (not even the good fatty. It was hard fatty). Saving grace is that it's pretty cheap, but you'd have a cheaper and better meal at McDonalds. Poor service doesn't even put this place properly in the sit down category. Not so great of an experience. Food was decent. I got the catfish and it was a lot of breading. Our waitress we had came back two times telling me they did not have the selected drink that I want. Bartender had to come back and and tell me they don't have such and such options and he had to help me to something. He was nice though. Waitress did not check on us at all. A lady with glasses I don't recall her name. She also did not seem knowledgeable about the menu. Food overall was good. Not spectacular or anything. While I normally do not write reviews, the experience I had around 9:00pm on 12/6 at the Macs Speed Shop in Concord is forcing my hand. Before I dive into the review, I want to be clear that this establishment is phenomenal. I hate the saying that one bad apple can ruin the bunch, so I will be coming back but I will be avoiding one server in particular that I will not name. I hope it is just the one bad apple. The ambiance - perfect for a quick bite to eat as a couple or with friends... or even watching sports at the bar top. It's not an easy feat to be able to provide such a range for a dining experience, props to Macs Speed Shop. The food - literally amazing. I have no complaints for any of the delicious food I've ordered so far. The wings (huge), brisket, pork, sausage, hushpuppies are all mouthwateringly tasty. I've had other items from the menu in the past and I have to shoutout the kitchen. Great work. The service - words do little to describe the terrible service we received. Besides lackadaisically cleaning another table, chit-chatting with the host(s), and closing out the only other table the server had (1 singular two top), we felt forgotten about. We had our order taken and everything was normal until our water glasses were empty, and the list of issues promptly began to lengthen. Forgotten VTX sauce on the side, requests for a water refill before receiving said water, requests for a 2nd order of hushpuppies that were never received, an uncomfortable level of coldness to the food. In my honest opinion, I doubt the cooks prepared cold food... I assume the server and/or food runners were tending to other things. Truthfully, it doesn't seem like much as I type this but I will honestly say that our server did not attempt to make our experience great. We ended up packing the food up to reheat at home so there would be some warmth to the meal. I understand if we were the last table for this server for the night, or if this server would've been cut right before we came in, or if this server has personal problems affecting their serving potential, whatever it may be there is no excuse for this nearly disrespectful level of service. Regardless of the service on this particular night, which can be internally remediated, I love this place. I will be leaving this 5 star review in hopes that action is considered among the servers, especially if this is the standard that Macs Speed Shop in Concord strives for. read more

Sooo excited to have a Macs in Concord, we've visited the south blvd and Huntersville locations a lot over the years. One of our favorite bbq restaurants. Whewww but Concord....I'm not sure if it was a rush open or what? -The Food was Amazing and Fresh!!! Zero complaints there, kudos to the chefs and kitchen staff! -The Host was friendly when sitting us. -Nowww the customer service of the server is what took this post from 5 stars down to 3! Training is highly recommend. She walked passed us and I had to ask if we had a server, then she came back. Throughout our experience I had to keep stopping her verse her checking on us. Then we had a full sampler platter and needed a to go box, she brings the smallest box. A larger box or 2 boxes would've made sense. Again had to ask for more boxes. Asked for a Togo water, they were out of cups. We will be back but hope the service improves to spend $70- $150 but receive low budget quality service is not acceptable. Date Night Restaurant Roulette brought us here and what a good choice it was! The atmosphere was great and gave a mix of industrial/garage feel, which was pulled off extremely well. The staff we interacted with were amazing. We began with drinks, Hubby had a Hurricane Season and I had a Painkiller. We love ordering house cocktails as it provides a way to try unique and original cocktails. The drinks were really good. Opting for no appetizers, we ordered our entrees straight away. I chose The Cuban with Mac n' Cheese as a side and Hubby had the Pulled Pork Taco and a cup of Chili. All of our choices turned out to be a good decision, but also what moves the rating from a 5 to a 4. The Cuban, although great flavor did not have the Cuban Sauce or the Sweet Pickle Relish as described on the menu. It just had whole sliced sweet pickles. With no sauce or relish, the sandwich was much drier than it needed to be. It could have also used another slice of Swiss so the nuttiness of the cheese would compliment the ham and pulled pork. My Painkiller cocktail paired well with this sammie. The ham and pulled pork were very flavorful. The Mac n' Cheese was yummy. I think it was baked as that is what the texture leaned to. Hubby's Pulled Pork Taco wasn't quite as flavorful as he would have liked and the Pineapple Salsa on it was "okay". He expressed the Chili was "Okay, given it was black bean chili and I'm not a fan of black beans." We may or may not return only based on it's located somewhere we do not visit often and there are so many other places for us to play restaurant roulette! read more

If I could give a - star I really would! As someone who has worked in bars and restaurants for 20 years it killed me to leave such an awful tip but I really had no reason too! My burger which I asked for medium rare came out burnt! My wife's chicken was dry as a bone and flavorless, she also asked for a sausage to go with the meal, never got it! We were never once asked how or meal was or asked if i needed another drink, while trying to swallow that sorry hockey puck, excuse of a burger! Have been to uptown, lake Norman, and concord locations multiple times, Concord is the worst. Like any restaurant that expands, quality diminishes. I have always been a fan of Mac's Speed Shop and I was here on March 8, 2024 and my food was great, I return on July 4th ,2024 and the waitress was very nice and Thorough . But my food was totally disgusting. I ordered wings for an appetizer and they were not seasoned or cooked good. I ordered the Mac and Cheese, collards, fries and the pulled chicken plate. All of the food was cold, Mac and cheese was mushy and not seasoned and the collards were not seasoned and cold. I only sent the fries back because they were cold. The pulled chicken was cold and unseasoned. My wife had the ribs that were over cooked and black. I didn't complain to the waitress because she did a great job. I paid my full bill with a nice tip but the cooks on the 4th of July did a terrible job. It wasn't that busy for such terrible food. I am disappointed because I like Mac's Speed Shop. read more

Food is pretty good. I'm a fan of the "chicken sammy". The hush puppies are good as well. The reason for only 3 stars is because the service is always lacking. I've been there around a dozen times and have never been impressed with the service. The carry out service is especially weak. I don't usually post reviews, but this meal deserves one of the best positive reviews I can give! The atmosphere in the restaurant was a lot of fun and from the outset, our server Alicia was absolutely wonderful! She engaged with us and held a wonderful conversation. She highlighted the parts of the menu and helped us decide what we wanted. The food was out in a VERY decent time and our appetizer, the Down South Egg Rolls, were out of this world! Then the BBQ pork came. When I tell you the dry rub on this BBQ was fantastic, I mean it! The meat was juicy and frankly didn't need any sauce to eat. The sauce only elevates the flavor, which is how you know it's good meat. Everything is smoked on site. The sides were delicious: we had Mac and Cheese and Garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes. And at the end, when we received our bill, I was surprised at the affordability of all the food we got!
