What a weird experience I had today. I was looking at shoes and had a particular shoe that I needed in my size. This lady comes out of nowhere and doesn't look like she worked there (she was dressed in like a Juicy Couture looking velour outfit with Keen outdoor looking shoes - not the usual business-ish outfit. She looked like she was going gardening.) and she asks if I need that shoe in a size. I told her yes, I need it in a size 5 in Pink. She grabs it and walks off in the opposite direction of where I think all the shoes are located. She comes back a few minutes later waving the shoe box around, *yelling* "pink pink pink." And sets the shoe down in my size. She then said "they had it...but I have to go, so Shelly is going to help you" then starts ***yelling***, "SHELLY SHELLY! you're going to help them now, I'm leaving." So "Shelly" comes over and she's like, "Hi, I'm Sherry, I'm going to be helping you now." We're like, oh, your name is Sherry? Like who was that lady helping us earlier...did she work there? Why doesn't she know this other lady's name, especially since she's YELLING it across the shoe department?! ANYWAY, that's besides the point...sort of. The shoe fit, I bought it. "Shelly" rang me up. They had a promotion going on where you donate $2 to like the Heart Association and you get 20% off your purchase. !!! No brainer! yes please. So I got my shoes, that were already on sale, for much cheaper due to this promotion. That was a score! I also went to the Benefit counter in the cosmetics department and they were really helpful and friendly. The layout of the store seemed chaotic and things were packed close together. Otherwise, no other issues. Just that weird interaction with that screaming lady who didn't really seem to work there, but brought out my shoes. ? read more

For Macy's, I feel like this location is sub-par. The employees are not helpful for simple questions like "where are the Frango's?" The inventory seems to be crammed into the store similarly to discount stores like Value Village or Goodwill. If I want to fight against plastic hangars for a sweater, I am not going to pay full price! The location is great and the men's section is actually well executed in both layout and inventory. Women and Home, though, need revitalization! The shoe department is a mess, too. The competition with Nordstrom requires additional attention to detail for Macy's to compete again as an elite store. read more

The sales people are very helpful they have good prices and parking is always good. But that is how most places are at the mall. The alteration service is accurate and reasonably priced. The turn around is usually 2 weeks or so so if you need something altered fast this is not the place. read more

Macys has changed over the years and the selection/quality is not as good. Disappointing. The Alderwood Mall is a notch above the Redmond Town Center but it's no longer the first choice for me. read more

The customer service here at the Lynnwood, WA store in non existent. I stood in front of 2 cashiers and they didn't even acknowledge me. Then one walked away and I looked at her like "where ya going?" She smiled and said "this isn't my department". Geez! Like that matters, a simple "hello" and "I'll find someone to ring your items up" would have been nice. I spend a lot of money in Macy's but their customer service is crap. I just bought some furniture and besides having the most up to date catalog their prices were reasonable (go check Pottery Barn if you disagree!). The salespeople were knowledgeable and very helpful. Even though they are probably in commision we felt no pressure at all. As a matter of fact they recommended to set the order ande wait a week so we can get an extra 10% on a sale they are having. The only bad part, but I guess it goes with ths bis, is that we have to wait 5 weeks to get a sofa (and it is not a fancy one). read more

Nice employees, and great selection, but the store as a whole looked sloppy I found unkempt displays, expensive clothing on the floor, and stock people not really doing any recovery work. There was a lady I chatted with in the purse section who was very nice, and a stock person upstairs was very nice and asked me if I was finding everything okay. I am all about customer service, especially good service! I had the great fortune to be helped by Cheryl Richardson in Fashion Jewelry at Alderwood Mall. Tis the season and all, and everyone is busy and tired, but Cheryl was exemplary. Despite being busy she assured everyone asking for her attention that she was with them and worked through us all. While she was adjusting my new watch band, to fit it for me. I noticed an empty box that I needed for shipping. I inquired and she readily offered to let me take the box with me. Once I got to the car I realized my watch was still a little loose. I returned and she very nicely removed another link. When I asked if there might be another empty box that I could have, she found me one. Over the top! Really! She was wonderful! Macy's you have a gem. As I reflected before writing this I remembered that I have had her help in the past, and she was just as terrific before. So wonderful to find a loyal employee that really takes such good care of the customer! Thank you so much Cheryl! I really appreciated it! If I didn't have a Macy's gift card to use I would have left! The women's sections were horrible. Clothes on the floor, all the racks were in disarray. I was there for two hours looking through their mess of a store and no one stopped to ask if I needed any assistance. The dressing rooms were disgusting, piles of clothes everywhere, on the floor. I could hardly move or get in the dressing rooms! There was no one around even cleaning up. Fred Meyer is a better experience that your store. Boo Macy's, bring back The Bon Marche! read more

Made a purchase in the furniture gallery about a month ago. Same day as purchase I went home and measured the space and decided to cancel the delivery. Called the salesperson and I was told he would take care of it. They had charged me an additional $157.00 delivery fee and it still has not been credited to my account. Just spoke with someone in custie service (again) and was told it will be another three weeks before it appears on my account. Why so long I asked him? "We have a lot of people out on vacation". This review is for the Home section in the upstairs part of Macy's, and specifically for the sales associate Gayla. Gayla was so unbelievably helpful. We have had problems in the past with employees who just don't seem to care about what the customer needs, but not Gayla. We felt like she genuinely cared about our needs and we didn't feel obligated to buy anything. The store didn't have the duvet cover my husband and I wanted but she pointed out she could order it and it would be here within a week. After that she helped us find the perfect duvet! Definitely coming back to get more excellent customer service from her! read more

So becaused I had worked for Nordstrom in the past, I had only been accustomed to shopping there. We were taught never to go to Macy's. LOL. After I left Nordstrom as an employee I started to branch out on where I was spending my money and what did I find. Macy is wonderful. A lot of the same brands at a better cost. I like Macy's as a whole, but this store is not very good. I tried to buy perfume and the dark haired older lady working behind the counter was helping everyone but me. I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and granted the other women were wearing much nicer cloths, but I was only going to Macy's so I did not see a reason to dress to impress. I waited for over a half an hour before I finally gave up and just walked down to Nordstrom's and picked it up there. The problem with the lady was she was trying to help customers that she thought had money. That might not always be a good idea. She lost money that day. When I came back through Macy's to get in my car, she was still helping the same people. I don't even know if she made a sale. I never will buy my perfume here again after this experience. read more

While I usually make most of my purchases online through other vendor's, I have to say that this Macy's cosmetics really gives Nordstroms a run for their money. I always receive great customer service at the Origins counter and in the other section where Too Faced and Smashbox are. The young man there is so helpful. I really have to give 5 stars to the Origins counter though. The ladies there are very nice, helpful, and provide you with phenomenal service. I can't say anything else about the other sections of the store, so this rating goes for the cosmetics. read more

I went there yesterday with my mom to return cosmetics. I go to Mac and the girl said she could only return Mac cosmetics but any other counter would be able to help me. So I go to I.n.c. and no one is working there. So I go across the way and my mom told her some lady needed help. All the lady wanted was to check prices and she couldn't decide on what to buy. The sales associate didn't call for help. So I went back to I.n.c. To be told she couldn't return makeup. At this point I was upset so I asked for a manager. I could understand if the products were used but they were still in the unopened package from when they got sent to my house. Anyway after all that I remembered why I only shop online. This isn't the first time I've had bad service from Macy's. I wonder how they stay in business. read more

We went to Alderwood Macy's today. During the course of the trip, we had contact with 3 employees at the store. I didn't get their names, but the three were in accessories, maternity and the women's plus size department. All 3 were really nice, polite and professional. In the maternity department my daughter tried on quite a few items because this was her first experience shopping for maternity clothes. I was taking things out and getting new sizes to find items that looked nice & were comfortable. The employee thanked us for bringing the items out of the dressing room! The dressing rooms we used were clean and the clothing in the departments was well organized. After having a terrible experience at a Macy's closer to where I live this was so refreshing. read more

Worst experience ever. Not only was I not helped when asked but I was sent to various different registers to be helped. I witnessed probably someone who was a manager argue with the associate because she didn't listen to what the associate said and assumed she knew what I needed. After I left that department I went to another to purchase several other items and was told to go too three different registers to be helped, all from the employees pointing. Once I was finally at a register where someone was able to ring out my items, I asked if they were able to provide a box......I was told they didn't have a box but I could walk around the store to see if a different person at a different register could provide one. This review is for the furniture gallery in Alderwood. I was looking for a sofa and a chair. When I started my search I was waited on by Kanani Donaldson in the Alderwood Store. We narrowed my search to three items. That was on a Friday. She was helpful without being aggressive and very giving of her time and assistance. The next day I brought my husband in to narrow the search down to the most comfortable sofa for him. After five minutes he chose the exact one ( Remy II) that I had chosen. Knowing how slow furniture delivery can be I figured that I would have the items in a month. Not so. By that Thursday the sofa and chair was sitting in my den. The color, style and quality is perfect. Macy's called me three times to let me know when the furniture was to be delivered. So in exactly 6 days I had purchased and received my sofa and chair. I recently stopped working at the Alderwood Macy's, the respect the business has for it's employees is so sad. I only stayed because my co-workers made it that much better. The way the management team works is beyond questionable, I've seen departments that have one person closing 4 registers and being alone for at least 2 hours before the other person gets off. Very bad planning and no care in the world for the employee's. So many customers complain to me and ask me why the lines are always long and their aren't enough sales associates helping on the floor. I blame MACY'S! Just avoid shopping there all together, some sales associates are so sweet and caring but majority all they care about are sales and getting to their goals. I barely ever return things, however I placed an online order and two things from the whole batch didn't work out. So, I took them to macy's store (receipt/packaging/tags intact). I told cashier LINDA in dress department (older lady) - that I have online order return and gave her my receipt. She gave me disgusting/annoying look, and said "you want to purchase these?" I repeated again that this is a return, she made ggggghh sound and took them back. Also, my Mom had a dress to return that day (28.99) (tags & receipt intact) - and LINDA just pushed away the receipt and hung the dress on the hanger; then gave my mom disgusting look and said "CAN I HELP YOU W/ SOMETHING?" My mom told her again that she just hang her dress w/ out returning money to my mom. Anyways, lesson learned - do not ever buy things you are not sure at macys, you get treatment from their cashiers like they want to puke at you! However, when you are looking at something, they keep running after you to bully into paying for it, after you pay for it, they slide your things to the side and run after another "potential customer or victim" lol. I spend so much $$$ at macy's, I would expect their employees to at least be nice when I am returning one or two items per year with a receipt and tags on. read more

This review has to do with Macy's customer service and the manager of this particular store, BETH. I've been a customer since 1981. The basis of my complaint was a item advertised as a "rebate" on a stand mixer I ordered online. Free gift sort of thing. I've submitted many a rebate in my lifetime so I get what's required. The UPC code was completely unusable. Marked over with a black marker with a piece of white tape over it. Returned or what? Who knows. There was a couple of other things. One being a debate on the time frame for eligibility. I had It in black and white. It was ALL Macy's issue. In my quest for this "gift" to be honored I was lucky enough to have to deal with Macy's customer service. YEA! Hung up on at least 3 times. Gave up and thought perhaps my local store manager could help. Wow! Any internet order is another company, we don't carry that item in the store so I can't just give you one. Does anyone know Macy's internet and regular Macy's are different? Next time buy it at the store so then I can help you, per Beth. No kidding! She would look into it. Nothing. I called again. Nothing. That was 3 times. Each time I got more irritated. Messages each time. The last one I saved. Gosh, I thought you got it because I didn't hear back. Please understand I have a life so I wasn't calling every other day. Beth said, I talked with Jonah at customer service. He said he was sending it. I called one last time again. Of course a message. I told her a professional would have done a callback. Please call me. That was end of December. Has this "professional" ever returned my calls? NOPE! That was the last straw. I end up at the executive offices. Sharlita was amazing. "I'm so sorry. We will expedite this item to your home. What else can we do to make you whole. You've been our customer for 37 years. Can we send you a gift card for your aggravation and lacking customer service." I've already received my rebate and a $200 gift card. What's funny? I didn't even want this thing. It's not why I bought the mixer. It's the point you know! I'm giving it to my daughter in law. HaHa!!! What a joke this company is. No wonder I get this type of thing at Costco or on Amazon. Worst experience ever at Macy's. Tried to buy a mattress and it took over a half hour before we were able to get helped because the person ahead of us was also having a horrible experience. Once we were finally able to get helped the salesman was able to start the process but hit a wall when his computer said my delivery address was not an actual address and would not let him override it and processed with the sale. (I have had many other things delivered to my house before from other companies). He called the manager....it took her over 20 minutes to show up. When she finally did and the salesman told her the issue she got frustrated with the salesman and then said well you will just have to wait till tomorrow and try again and call customer service for help. She did give me Macy's gift card but still it over an hour and nothing got accomplished!!! The salesman tried his best but the manager really didn't seem to care much or try to make anything right. read more

Our faith in customer service has been more than restored by the actions of Susan Harrell an employee of the Lynnwood Mall Macy store. Five stars is not enough to give credit to what this employee did for us. My husband purchased a bath robe and when he got home found that the security lock had not been removed. Ironically he had looked for over a year to find that perfect robe. Now we would have to make a round trip back to the mall and we live in Monroe. I contacted Macys and Susan Harrell answered my request to speak to a manager. She said she lived in Monroe and would stop by on her way home from work and remove the security lock. Not only did she go the extra mile but was certainly a great representative in her attitude and professionalism. I am hoping that this review is passed on to her manager Roy Short as she should be commended for extra ordinary customer service. Where will we be shopping and showing our customer loyalty?
