I have had multiple bad experiences. A lady adjusted my watch that I bought at this store *without proof of purchase* and then didn't give me my pins back with the links. Then I get told I suddenly need proof of purchase or I have to pay for this watch to get adjusted, which I'll need to anyway since they stole my pins previously. It really just seemed like they didn't believe I bought it there but I did ‍ and I literally saw the same one on display as I walked up so idk what to say about that. I brought a different watch in a few weeks ago asking for it to be adjusted down and they told me they didn't sell that one ok sure, then how did I buy it here? And she was extremely rude in her tone when she spoke to me and told me "if you buy it here, then I can adjust it for you." Lady, I've already bought the watch. I'm not going to buy it a second time. Now I have to buy more links from the watch manufacturer so I can get the pins, and then go pay AGAIN to get it adjusted because I don't want to deal with the attitude of the employees here. I have worked in customer service enough to know that you don't act like that to your customers. It's the most basic requirement for a customer service job, don't be a dick to customers or they won't come back. I asked for the corporate number. At first she just walked away from me, and then they refused to give it to me? And then she said sorry and turned around to talk to someone else?? Excuse me??? So you're just gonna stop talking to me because I'm upset. Terrible customer service. I would not recommend this store to anyone, at least not if you're going to the jewelry department. read more

My son and I were in the Lynnwood Macy's last evening to purchase some attire for his band events. I'm not a fan of shopping and not clear about menswear and all that entails. We were looking around for a few minutes when Susan approached us. Such a friendly woman and super helpful. She measured my son, determined what sizes he needs ( yes I logged them into my phone so I can have them for future use) and helped pick out the best items. I worked more than 20 years in retail and I know that retailers do not get enough Kudos, so I genuinely wanted to make sure that she got some praise. Terrible service at jewelry department!!! As a Macy's card member I received a coupon for purchase, so I stopped by the jewelry department to get a birthday gift for my friend. The old lady at the counter insisted that I could not use my coupon, but it turns out I could. Furthermore, she seemed to dislike her job and I felt that the whole experience was very unprofessional as a whole. I have many other choices aside from Macy's, and it is imperative to ensure that customer service is improved in the future. read more

I love Macy's. Some of them in Seattle are lacking in styles, selection and service but this one is not. It has really great people working here and the women's clothing and shoes are organized and have a wide variety, unlike Southcenter and Northgate. I came in here looking for a specific item for a wedding and asked a couple ladies in different departments for help. All of them were friendly and one went out of her way to help me try to find what I was looking for. They didn't have it, but I really appreciated her efforts. I like Macy's sales which are always going on, just like Catholic Mass. ;) I appreciate that there are special occasion dresses and just dresses in general here at this store. I go to church, I'm a corporate professional, and I go to a lot of events and need these type of clothes. It seems to be hard to find nowadays and buying them online stinks because I want to see them "live" and try them on before buying. read more

DO NOT SHOP here!!! Ridiculous store. Just bought some diamond earrings and earned state rewards. Macy's is having a 30% off sale and at the jewelry counter I was able to get that discount as well as use previously earned star rewards. The jewelry counter told me that with my purchase, I had earned an additional $20 in star rewards. Not even 20 minutes later, at a clothing department register, lo and behold, now I can't use my star rewards with the 30% discount. Clerks just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. Really, you can't call a manager to try and keep a customer happy? When you work for a store that is closing sites all over the country? I will never shop this location again. Drive to Burlington; a little further but I have never had this issue there. read more

Today we went into the jewelry department to purchase a ring, and the lady who was working there (around 6:00 pm) was VERY unprofessional and quite frankly very rude. She acted like she didn't have time for us, even though she had nobody else to help and was just standing around. She didn't once smile, was terribly unfriendly, short with us, and just all around looked miserable to be there. Made for a very awful jewelry buying experience. They need to hire some better staff and hopefully find ones who don't have sour attitudes and are enjoyable to be around. I will absolutely not be back. read more

This store absolutely sucks! Had them ship an item to my home. Waited weeks to get it. After many phone calls saying we were getting it we never did. On the last call they said it was being sent back to them and offered no reason. I said so I'm never receiving my items I purchased. They just said "no ma'am". Still haven't received a refund either. read more

Pretty low key, I definitely thought his event would be packed. We got a decent amount of free junk, including; $10 Macy's gift cards, Yelp glasses, tons of free snacks, facepainting and games for the kids. Eek - this place is going out of business fast. Employees didn't really know what was going on or where things were. The clothes are dated at best. And the layout was making me twitch. You have to do slalom races of olympic standards to get from one side to the other with so much marketing and branding that is SO in your face. I appreciate department stores do that, and some (like Nordstrom) do it well. But this was just like an explosion of red and stars and stands everywhere. Having completed the slalom race in under 5 minutes I walked straight back out again. Sad to see a store like this that used to be the pinnacle of department stores fall apart so quickly with online retail. read more

Went to Macys today to look at Mens suits and had a very sad store visit. Twice during my short store visit, the stores intercom system was doing congratulations for team members for welcoming new Macys card holders. They went on and on about how to sign up in store. The lady who was trying to sell me my suit seemed more interested in getting me to sign up for the credit card then to buy a suit. In addition, I went in asking about the most basic suit option they had saying I would only wear it very very seldom and the thing she kept wanting to sell me was the $650 designer suit, when they had a clearance section of suits for around $100. This is pure disrespect for the consumer. I know your corporate office must push your credit cards like nothing else, but guess what this time it lost you a guest who would have spent money in your store. In stead, I went to JCP to make my purchases where I was simply informed of their card and when I said no they dropped it and didnt make PA annoucements about it. I will say though that the young lady working at the Orgins counter on 10-2-2012 at around 5:15pm was fantastic. She was polite, non pushy, went over the feature and benefits of the product and provided a sample. This is how you gain business. read more

Macy's is a mid-range chain of department stores across United States. As a Canadian, I love American department stores (Nordstrom/Bloomingdales/Saks Fifth Ave etc). They have a lot of things and more affordable for us. Before the holiday seasons, there is no sales at any dept stores except Macy's!! Of coz, everyone like good deal/on sales/discount stuffs and we were there. It's so busy on Friday noon (Dec 20), I was waiting for my friend to get assistance at shoes section. There were so many people surrounding and long wait for floor assistance. I guess it's a package for on sales things (crowd/wait time/line up). read more

2 departments and 2 reasons only why I do Macys. I visit the cosmetics slash skin care and shoe department if I'm in the mood. It's a hit and miss all the time. Don't come here on a weekend esp. when they are having their sale. It gets crazy! It's difficult to find help. They do have a lot of fair sale but it depends on what you're looking for. Otherwise, it's well-organized for the most part. Sales people are mostly friendly and some are kind of snobs. I don't know why that is but whatever... Anyway, when they do have a sale going on, it doesn't apply to cosmetics or skin care. However, they do offer gift sets when you purchase something. They offer mini facial to get you to buy more and if you buy into it. All in all, It can be fun to look around for anything and everything. They also have the bath and kitchen department upstairs. I like to go to the top floor sometimes and check out beddings, dinnerware, etc. It's fun! Plenty of parking all around the mall but they do have their obvious section where you can park. Weekends and holidays--always challenging to find parking. I think that sums it up! read more

Worst Macy's ever.. Ill give 1star because my boyfriend found some good priced Levi's and Ralph Lauren sweatshirt. But the employees were rude when asking where things were. One even rolled his eyes. The dressing rooms had garbage on the floor and clothes piled in the rooms. Then when we were ready to cash out most of the cash register areas had no employees, then when we found an employee at one (which was one of the same ones that was rude before) she told us we needed to go to a different cash register. read more

This is about their new return police. This morning I went to Macy's with my receipt and original tags to return a cashmere twin set that I had purchased with my Macy's card which had pilled all over the first time I wore it. So, I brought it back to Macy's to return today. I was informed that the 'new return policy' only allows returns on merchandise that still have the original tags... attached! So, if you buy something and it falls apart in the wash, or the cashmere is cheap and pills, or the heal of a shoe falls off, or whatever the reason, if the tag is not attached (even if you have the original tags) and want to return it, you're toast. They won't let you return it. I'm out almost $400 because I dared wear the garments before I realized that the cashmere was substandard. The helpful sales lady that informed me of the new policy also informed me that if I wanted quality cashmere I should've gone to Nordstrom! Well, next time I will, but not just for cashmere. Thank you very much Macy's, you lost a very, very loyal customer. read more

For a downtown location, I'm surprised it's not as busy as you would think it would be. They have a huge stand alone location, but there is just something about this place where it seems a little dirty? Maybe it's the lighting. Not too sure. But it has the same selection of product as you would find elsewhere. Unless I'm just new to the city, I'm unaware of why it's not as crazy packed as the other downtown stores surrounding it. It's nice to shop here during the holidays. It's very festive and they offered the Santa visits and photos with the reindeer. A lot of the merchandise here is the same as Nordstrom and cheaper. read more

Kudos to Macy's for their excellent return policy. I ordered three items online one did not arrive at all and one ended up being a completely different item. I received the refund on the missing item and of course a refund on the wrongly shipped item. I appreciate them taking my word for it and that makes me trust the business more and will continue to to shop with them. All my other orders Came without any issues so I am glad that this new situation was handled professionally by the Lynnwood location. Thanks again! read more

Found myself with some time to shop, so after wandering the mall for a while I walked into Macy's. This was the last Saturday before Christmas so the place was a madhouse, unorganized and messy. But that's to be expected in the crush of the holiday shopping, so I looked past that. I will readily admit I don't go to the mall very often, but even so, I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of petite clothing. I went upstairs to look at bedding and home furnishings, and discovered that this location has "Backstage", a discount section. It's along the lines of a Ross or a Marshalls, with discounted merchandise. I found a nice dress and some accessories. Then I went to the kitchen section and chose a KitchenAid mixer. I thought by selecting the box below the display that they would match, but no. The sales associate helped me find the right mixer in a better color by crawling under the display table ... talk about service! Then she took the time to help me open a charge account (saving another 20%!), and arranged to send the mixer down to will call so I wouldn't have to carry the box through the mall. Once I got to will call it took about 10 minutes for someone to answer the door. Overall, a great experience. I'm looking forward to going back again. read more

Went in a few weeks ago the day before a wedding looking for a last minute tux to wear to a wedding. I was very panicked that I was not going to be able to find an entire suit without having to order anything but the wonderful employee who I believe was named Ruth was INCREDIBLE!! It was a lengthy process and I was there for a few hours trying on different combinations and sizes and colors and ruth stayed throughout the entire process! From choosing a pant color that went with the jacket to finding the right size shirt she was there not only for me but for other customers who were also shopping in her area. She helped so much and for the first time after that entire crazy day of shopping I was able to breath knowing I now had a complete look ready for the festivities. Thank you, Ruth! read more

Wow, I'm shocked. This Macy's isn't an absolute dump! And that sounds harsh but for some backstory, I grew up in San Francisco and the Eaty Bay area where Macy's has two of its largest stores. These stores have always been spotless, bright, well kept, and full of awesome clothes. I'd say from the time I was about 15 until I was about 26, Macy's is where I bought 90% of my clothing. Then when I left California and moved to WA state (home of Nordstrom) I still tried to stay loyal. I'd go to Macy's and always be disappointed. For some reason I thought it was an issue of being too far from CA, but in recent months I've been to at least 3 other Macy's locations in OR and in Southern CA. And again, they were terrible. I guess Macy's has lost its luster and they're giving up the fight? Until going to this Macy's I would have honestly recommended JC Penny over any other Macy's location I've been to in the last 3-5 years. But finally, FINALLY, this store was clean, well organized and there were people at the registers when I wanted to make a purchase. The women's shoe section wasn't torn apart and the woman that assisted me was very kind and friendly. It almost felt like the Macy's of days past. Much happier that not all of these stores are a wreck, and happy that I can still shop at a Macy's somewhere near where I live and not be utterly disappointed. If you like Macy's shop here! This is the best Macy's location I've been to in the Seattle metro area. Clean, bright, not outdated, not rundown, and located in a big mall so you can accomplish lots of shopping in one afternoon. read more

Macy's is still a hole. But Debbie and Thomas are fucking awesome. They are not apathetic in the slightest, nor are they brain dead - they are probably a little disenfranchised, but that's society's fault man. They're doing the best they can to get by. And providing excellent customer service to dumb bitches like me, who show up ALONE in a tiny pick-up to transport a ginormous king size mattress and box springs. A mattress that didn't fit in the tiny bed (spilled over the sides actually) and that blocked the back window completely. When I called Debbie (who sold me that mattress) in a small panic (fine - full on anxiety attack) asking if there was someway to get it delivered, she got busy trying to find a solution for me. All the while, Thomas was artfully rigging, and scrunching, and tying the mattress into something that "sort of" fit in my truck. Debbie came down to have a smoke and inspect the rigging job, and happily let me bum a cig from her. "You'll be fine honey, just get in the right lane and stay there.", she said in her elderly smoker's rasp as she handed me a fist full of smokes for the road. "Just chain smoke and watch your mirrors." Yes, Macy's is still a hole - you will still wander the shoe department like the Hebrews through the desert trying to find a salesperson - but Debbie and Thomas are the exceptions that prove the rule. And I'm quitting again on Monday. Debbie's really cute and all, but I don't want to sound like that. read more

Overpriced & understaffed. I recently went in to purchase sunglasses. The lowest I could find was $75.00 but that was on mark downs on a plastic frame. Which were very flimsy in the first place. Just to get metal frames was about $235.00... These aren't prescription or anything special. Just regular sunglasses... I could get 20 metal framed pairs on amazon for that price and they'd probably last a long time. Also, another issue I've had recently with this company, they sent me a bill for $2.00 and when I inquired about it they couldn't really explain why they charged me the $2.00 "fee" when there was no balance on the books. I paid it but told them to close out my account. I don't deal with handout companies. I feel like this company has fallen into a snake pit of disrepair. I've been a loyal shopper of Macy's for years and I still think the Alderwood location needs work, especially during the busy Christmas shopping season. Today a salesperson said she would help me "if my transaction was easy" then I pulled out my 20 % off coupon and told her I'd have to enter my SSN b/c I didn't have my card on me. Not hard. All they do is ask for your SSN and look at your license. She said "well in that case I'll give you to someone else" then she went to get someone else. She wandered around, couldn't find anyone so she came back and said she'd help me. Then I think she realized she was a little out of line with how she treated me because she tried to be super friendly and said "I should just take care of this, I can wait to take my break" then made other small talk. Umm ok. If she was going on her break she should have just asked another person to check me out initially! The whole exchange was weird. I didn't like being treated like she was doing me a favor by checking me out when I was ready to buy my stuff. Overall, I like a lot of their merchandise and they have good specials. Today I got 2 cashmere sweaters on their One Day Sale for $50 each which is a total steal. I just repeatedly have very mediocre service in this store. They are not even close to being on par with Nordstrom with whom I assume they are trying to compete on some level at least. read more

Really disappointed with the service I have recently experienced at Macys. Prior to the past couple weeks, I have been pretty indifferent with my experience at Macys but the past three weeks have been a real disappointment. I went there on an early Sunday morning hoping to get in and out for a simple battery change on a watch. I had purchased a watch about a year ago and bought the extended warranty because it included free battery changes. When I first got there, I let the sales person know I was there to have the battery watch changed. He immediately told me that they do not offer that service. I advised him that I purchased the extended warranty and proceeded to show him my receipt. He took the receipt and disappeared for 20 minutes. Upon his return, he informed me that his manager would have to come and change the battery and asked if I could come back 15 minutes later. Being crunched for time, I was not happy and defeated the purpose of me coming early. I reluctantly agreed to come back. After 20 minutes, I came back and waited and waited while he helped other customers. When he finally got a chance to come around and acknowledge I was there, he told me that his manager had not yet come. After providing me with the status, he proceeded just to stand there and offer no additional service. I asked him if he knew if his manager was on his way, he said no he did not know. So I requested that he call him and see if he was on his way. He picked up his phone several time but spoke to no one. He came back and asked if I could just come back some other time. Since I pressed for time, I just took my watch and left. My sister came back on a weekday, and made a second attempt to get the battery changed again. She ended up spending two hours while they looked for the name in the system, apparently the original receipt was not sufficient. After they found the name, she was advised that it would take one to two weeks for the battery to be changed because they had to ship it back to the manufacture. It has been one week and I am still left with out a watch. From experience, battery watches typically should only take 15 minutes. I am just now crossing my fingers that I get my watch back. read more

I went to the lingerie dept. to return an item and exchange another item. I had to try it on to make sure of the fit. I had just come from another dept. with 6 or 7 items I wanted to purchase. The younger Hispanic woman was very rude and said I should take those purchases to the dept. I got them at. I just wanted to try the items on in ONE visit to the dressing room! I made a purchase of just under $300.00 and I was being treated SO RUDELY! You would think with their financial troubles, they would be helping customers with anything they can! Also, if you read those dark grey plastic bags they ship items in, it says please recycle or bring to Macy's to recycle so they "will do their part in recycling". I brought those Macy's bags with me to recycle as they state. When I asked the woman in lingerie if she could recycle those 2 bags, she said "oh, we just throw those out"! And she proceeded to stick them in the garbage can!!! Come on Alderwood Macy's, where is your CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES! Step it up!!! read more

This is one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. A cross border shopper, I purchased some cookware at this Macy's and brought it back to Canada. 12 hours later it went on sale online for an extra 15% off plus they were offering a bonus pan worth $75 for free. I really thought I was out of luck, since I had no way of getting back to the US for a price adjustment. Luckily I thought I might as well try giving them a call. They were able to give me a price adjustment over the phone (even for an item I had paid cash for), happily refunding me close to $60 on my credit card, and they are shipping my free fry pan in the mail! It was a very complicated transaction to do over the phone (there were multiple receipts and payment methods that had been used and different billing/shipping addresses) but Linda, the salesperson, went out of her way to help me out and was very friendly and helpful. If Macy's didn't have kick ass sales for card holders, I wouldn't be a card holder or shop there at all. I am so tired of the people that work there. Not even this Macy's, I get the same sad, desperate, unsatisfied soul attitude at the Northgate location as well. My most recent bad experiences: 1. Fine jewelry department sucks, couldn't get help if I paid for it, and the woman at the counter....after I waited 30..yes, 30 minutes for help, told me she couldn't help me because the couple that just walked up were her customers from earlier. Commission first, right? I apparently was not standing there to buy anything. 2. I noticed that the Converse (Chuck's) in ladies shoes looked weird, when I checked inside at the size, they only had a women's size...odd women's chucks? So, I went to men's shoes and the woman working there told me they don't carry them in a 7, I said funny, I called and you did last week can ya' check? She begrudgingly did, found them, and proceeded to give me attitude the ENTIRE transaction about how lucky I was and how they never blah blah blah... 3. The cards they send you in the mail, Macy's rewards, exclude purchases of 99% of what they sell...it is obnoxious. They get 2 stars however for great sales and just simply being a place I can find things I need at. read more

Simply cannot stand this Macy's. Most of the employees look so unhappy and act like it too. Especially the shoe department and the jewelry section. Shoes are always a disaster. A couple weeks ago I came by on a week day to get a specific pair of sandals. They didn't have a majority of the size/colors available. I was walking around for 30 minutes until I started standing around staring employees down. I even have shoes in my hand, OBVIOUSLY need to be helped. Finally got the shoes, and they didn't fit. Only had to wait 20 minutes to get another size. The one girl helping was very nice but running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Then there's a 4 person line to buy stuff and other people needing to try stuff. I told her I would be back to purchase it as I had to meet someone for dinner. I was there for an hour and a half at that point. I came back an hour and a half later, and still it took 20 minutes to be greeted and get shoe sizes. All in all, another hour and a half. Several employees were extremely rude to people that did not speak English as their first language. Incredibly appalling. The only reason I gave them two stars is because of the sports clothes sections, they are very nice, clean, and give me the best deals on my purchases. read more

This is pretty much your average Macy's. Two things I really like about this location are that there are fitting rooms everywhere so you never find that several are closed and you have to walk around the entire store to find an open one, and you never have to wait in line. I also like that they have many price-check machines all over the store. It's great to be able to check yourself. Things are always on sale at Macy's so you never really know what the actual price is, so it's really good that you can check yourself. Some Macy's have just a few of these, but this place had many, some in the dressing rooms even. It was also quite organized and clean. The layout is a little confusing though. read more

Today, I just returned a pair of leather boots with so much hassles that I've never experienced before. I'm a long time customer of Macy. These brown leather boots with heels look beautiful an classy. The only problem is that they hurt your feet very bad after walking in them for about 30 minutes. I wore them only once and I could not stand how they hurt my feet so bad. So I decided to return them today. I expected to return them easily and use the returned money to purchase more comfortable shoes at Macy. However, it didn't turn out as I expected. 2 female sale associates at Macy's shoes department in Lynnwood were not happy. They cited the shoes condition is not sale-able condition. How they are not in saleable condition when I used them only once? The shoes are still intact, not in a beat-up condition. They still look very new, decent, clean in the box with packing papers. One Macy sale associate, in her middle age, I don't know her name, she looks like a descendant of South Asian, talked down to me as if she made me a very huge favor: "These shoes are not in sale-able condition. I accept the return ONLY for this time. In the future I don't accept the return." I told her I'm a long time Macy's customer. I've never experienced any problems like this. I asked her where is it in the Return Policy that it says these shoes are not returnable? She printed out the Return Policy for herself to read and crumpled it. She didn't point out for me to see it. She came back to me and repeated the same thing:" I only accept the return ONLY for this time, ok?" When is it Macy becoming so difficult about returning products? I asked her if I could talk to her manager about the return policy. She went to look for somebody. An middle age Asian lady showed up, very adamant about not accepting the return. I told her the same thing. I wore them only once and they hurt my feet very bad. I don't want to pay for these shoes just for display but not able to use them. I asked her if I could talk to the manager. She went to look for the manager. I waited for about 7 min, didn't see the manager come to me. I talked to another sale associate about returning the shoes. This sale associate is a middle age, White woman name is Theresa. She accepted the return very fast. She was in sight and had over heard about the commotion between me and the other 2 sale associates. I thanked her for accepting the return. If the return transaction was quick & smooth, I could have spent more time at Macy & purchased more merchandises. These 2 sale associates really killed my mood for shopping at Macy. read more

Went in on 10/3/2020 to look at sofas and had 6 employees standing in a circle trashing President Trump for 10 minutes. No one asked if my wife or I needed help and we left shortly after.
