Found this little gem close to us, and really enjoyed this place. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 4.5/5 - Not a large place, but most sushi places aren't really that big. You can combine tables to form larger groups (I wouldn't do it past 8). Staff - 5/5 - Friendly. They come by often, which is always a good thing. Food/Drink - They have a LARGE menu, and ordered the following: Agedashi Tofu - 5/5 - I am always a fan of this type of tofu, and this didn't disappoint. Really light and fluffy. Kobe potstickers - 4/5 - Ground beef potstickers. Pretty good, but I don't know if it is worth $8.50. Japanese Popcorn Shrimp - 4.5/5 - For the kiddos. Softshell Crab - 5/5 - Always a huge fan, and came with 2. Poke Tacos - 4/5 - Really good, and came with a good amount of Tuna poke. Spider Roll - 5/5 - Softshell crab again. This time for $10. Devil's Roll - 4.5/5 - Not really spicy, but very flavorful. Overall, we will be coming back again due to the food and location. read more

The food is pretty good here and service is great also. It's more of a fusion place with Japanese and Thai which typically I'm always a bit suspicious of. However the Thai entrees are actually decent (not like the best though). I probably wouldn't go here for Thai food but if I'm here and want Thai I'll get it. That being said, the sushi is decent as well. I enjoyed the Florida roll a lot. The pad see ew was definitely on the sweet side (abit too sweet for my liking). This is my first time visiting Madai sushi and it was pretty good! I like how it was a Thai and Japanese fusion. Ambiance: There was a medium noise level and it was a pretty chill environment. There was not many customers when I went during the weekday. There is plenty of seating: booths and table and chairs. Service: The server was very nice and accommodating! There was not many other tables but he did check up on us often. Thai Fried Rice: The fried rice was soooooooo good!! We got a moderate spice level and it was honestly so delicious!! There was such a good flavor and it wasn't too spicy. Sushi: We got the Alaska roll and a eel roll. Both of the sushi rolls were very good. I came here with a friend last weekend based on his recommendation. This restaurant used to be a Thai restaurant and had either a change of ownership or expanded their menu. Anyways, when we arrived, we were welcome fairly quickly and asked where we wanted to sit. Originally, we decided the bar area but ended up moving to a table nearby. Our waiter, Sean, greeted us and provided us with 2 menus - a paper one and a more descriptive menu with pictures and ingredients. We were also served warm water with lemon in a mug. Sean was helpful in giving his recommendations when we wanted to decide our order. We ordered Veggie Egg Rolls for our appetizer. We also added on a Bonsai Roll, Cosmo Roll, Wasabi Caviar, and Quail Eggs. We received the Veggie Egg Rolls fairly quickly. It was served fresh and hot. The pastry in itself was very flaky and I enjoyed the bite of the egg roll. It went really well with the duck sauce. Next, we received the Bonsai Roll and Cosmo Roll. The Bonsai Roll had spicy yellowtail and avocado in the middle, and was topped with albacore tuna. I really enjoyed the ponzu sauce on the side of the plate and it tasted fresh. I generally lean more towards smoked salmon when I get sushi so the Cosmo Roll was interesting. The Cosmo Roll had cream cheese and smoked salmon. The exterior of the roll was lightly fried with some tempura batter so it added some sweetness. The crunch and texture was really good. This was probably my most favorite roll of the 2. My friend had never had caviar before so we originally ordered the black caviar because we noted that we indicated it was buttery in the menu. Unfortunately, we were informed that the black caviar had run out so they offered Tobiko (red caviar) and Wasabi Caviar. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of wasabi in excess so I was hesitant towards it. My friend, however, is a huge fan so we ended up getting it. I was very very surprised by the taste. The wasabi was not overpowering and it was surprisingly good when served with the nori. I'd love to give the black caviar a try. We also ordered quail eggs and that was new for me. They were served with the top taken off and a mixture of sauces were added on top. As soon as I took this "shot", I made a face. I wasn't sure if it was the mixture of sauces, but it was definitely an experience. If you've never had quail eggs, I'd recommend giving this a try. Ultimately, I plan to go here again. My experience here was quite nice, and I look forward to trying other dishes. I also have to thank Sean, our waiter, for being patient and very helpful. The pineapple fried rice had raisins in it & seemed to have a touch of curry power. These are two things I do not typically expect to be present in pineapple fried rice. The rice was colorful, but I would have appreciated if it had more flavor to accompany its vibrant appearance. Where do I begin. I love this place. The food is really delicious. I love all of the rolls they offer and their apps are incredible. The Kobe beef potstickers are addicting and the tuna tataki roll is unbelievable. The service is phenomenal. Elliot is one of the best servers I've ever had at a restaurant. He knows how to treat the guests and that is always a huge plus in the dining experience. I can't recommend this place enough. If you haven't gone, go. You will not be disappointed. Not worth it. We didn't dine in. We ordered takeout. We got 5 different rolls, miso soup, and some edamame. None of the rolls were actually that tasty. They didn't taste that fresh or have much flavor at all. For the taste, the price was way too high. I wouldn't recommend getting sushi from here. If you like Wasabi with your Sushi do not order from Madai or make sure you have some on hand. We ordered $94.00 worth of Sushi for delivery. When our food arrived there was no Wasabi. I called the restaurant and talked to the Manager. When I asked him why they wouldn't include Wasabi in a $94.00 order he said that they did and he personally handed the Wasabi to the delivery person...when I asked him why would you hand a delivery person a bag of food and separately hand them a side of Wasabi instead of putting it in the bag? He just repeated his answer, when I asked the question again he refused to answer the question repeated himself and hung up the phone. Needless to say I will NOT order from them again. It is bad enough that they forgot the Wasabi but then to lie about it and with such a ridiculous lie is unforgivable! read more

SERVICE: No complaints here. I ordered over the phone for takeout, and my order was ready for pickup in the 10-15 min it took for me to get there. Staff was very friendly and upbeat, and mindful of social distancing. FOOD: Unfortunately, it wasn't very authentic. The fish was not fresh and the salad came with a peanut (?) dressing. I also got a little baggy of tempura (shrimp and veggies) and fried pork (?) dumpling. which was good, but could have been better with tempura sauce. Miso soup was halfway filled and did not get any tofu, but still ok flavorwise. I think the highlight of this bento box was the orange which was very sweet. The orange is what I usually expect to suck lol! PRICE: At almost $14, I expected a bigger portion. There were only 4 pcs of California roll which is probably like half a roll. They're nice people and pick some sweet oranges, but I will not be returning for more sushi :( read more

This place was a pleasant surprise! Stopped by on a friends recommendation and so glad we did. Between three of us, we had a rainbow roll, shrimp tempura roll, yellow curry, basil friend rice and pad thai. Everything was super yummy and arrived quickly at our table. My husband ordered his curry with a spice level of 10 and still needed to add chili to make it a little hotter, however I ordered my rice with a spice level of 3 and wish I would of gone for a 4/5. I love Thai stir fried noodles and I love good sushi. Rarely do I ever find a place that can provide both, much less at a high quality like Madai Sushi does. Our food was absolutely delicious. Granted, maybe I could have gotten perhaps 10% more noodles on my dish, it was still fulfilling. My niece is what I consider a Dragon Roll connoisseur. She orders it every chance she can get a Japanese food spot. This place's Dragon Roll was very flavorful and she was impressed. Our other rolls were great too. The atmosphere inside with the darker lights and nicely spaced tables was very inviting. I absolutely hate cramped seating and it gives me anxiety when the place is full.
