First time visiting, my friend & I love to visit new upscale restaurants around the city. The food was good and the atmosphere was great! My friend was hesitant to order lamb for the first time and the chef recommended a specific cook so she would enjoy it! We loved the experience. The inside is beautiful! We went on a Friday evening & the place became busy quickly but our waitress was so nice and checked on us multiple times.

Madam is located inside the Daxton hotel. It was quite an upscale atmosphere (very well kept). The service was fantastic! The flavors in the food were perfectly balanced and definitely not something you'd taste at your neighborhood Chili's.

The ambience at Madam is beyond compare. Very opulent from the drinking glasses to the silverware. The food was delicious-much improved than when we first visited. Service was attentive, friendly, and very efficient. Loved the birthday celebration cake

Our first visit was for their Thanksgiving buffet ... and we had a 2-Star experience. The recurring problem was running out of various items. Examples: - Seven of us waiting for empty plates to begin the buffet. Staff did not notice. When I brought it to their attention, she returned with three plates for seven people. - Squash soup was oddly seasoned. I was among the majority that did not finish it. - Out of spoons at the soup station. - Mixed greens salad was down to scraps - Corn casserole, empty. - Dressing was kind'a hidden, not a featured dish and easily missed. It had cooled and dried out. - Turkey that was being carved was down to a small-ish lump and as dried out as the Sahara. - When it came time for dessert - pecan pie and carrot cake was MIA. Apple pie was unremarkable. - Quartet had a good mix of music, but was too loud for me. Will I return? Not for a buffet, but I am willing to given the restaurant another chance. FWIW; the culinary dept at Henry Ford Community College had a better buffet and service for 20% of what I spent at Madam.

The ambiance was nice; quiet and chic. The service was okay. She was dry and just not interactive enough for a waitress. The food was really good. I ordered the omelette and added peppers, mushrooms and chicken sausage...amazing! The mushrooms were delicious and the sausage very tasty. The sourdough toast was also delicious. My girl had the burger and she stated it was good. Seasoned and nice flavor.

The large, seared scallops with pumpkin mousse and Brussels sprout leaves were exquisite.

I have not dined in downtown Birmingham for years now, spending time with friends either in Detroit or at restaurants closer to home. So it was a treat to make my way to Birmingham, a stop on my way to Somerset. It has been so long that even the Daxton Hotel, in which Madam is situated, did not exist when I was last here. The spacious restaurant is beautiful, almost a continuation of the lobby, although the space is clearly marked off. I loved the two-story ceilings, light fixtures, and furnishings. The restaurant was empty when I got there but filling up by the time I was done with the menu. I liked that the menu contained some distinctive items, including Forbidden Rice, muhamarra, beet tortellini, and salmon risotto, allowing us to discover new flavors. For the starter, I went with an appetizing mushroom ravioli, served with chili oil and pea leaves. I also had the seared scallops, served on pumpkin mousse, both of which were delectable. I generally don't comment on prices. However, the prices here are much higher than expected, even for a higher-end hotel. Service was friendly and professional.

We've come here for both dinner and brunch and each time it has been amazing! I love the delicious food here and they have such an amazing variety. I also really enjoy the cocktails which if you don't have time to dine in, you can just stop over at the beautiful bar. There's a lovely ambience in the restaurant and it's perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a good meal with friends and family. The service is fantastic and I look forward to going back soon!

Service was impeccable!! From the time we arrived to the time we left we felt catered to. We brought a small cake to celebrate a friends achievement and they brought it out with candles!! The forbidden rice was absolutely delicious and so were the scallops and pasta. Cocktails were good too.

I read this place was voted restaurant of the year for 2023. So, I decided to check it while in the Detroit/Birmingham area. The ambiance is very artistic and modern at the same time. I haven't quite seen such an upscale restaurant in this area. To be fair, not like I was really looking for an upscale restaurant in this area. That part. The food was delightful. Cocktails were standard but the bar area was sexy, so I guess you can say that I had a standard sexy cocktail. Service was attentive and overall made for a very nice experience. Cheers!!

We finally visited this restaurant located inside the Daxton hotel. Booked an open table reservation for our anniversary. The decor is incredible. Take time to walk around the hotel. It's meant to be a work of art and gallery like. Our server was very sweet and attentive. She mentioned the menu changes and on our visit there weren't many (any) vegan entrees. We made advanced reservations on open table and notated being vegan asking if the chef would accommodate. She was able to have the kitchen make cavatelli pasta with tomato sauce. It was good and vegan, but nothing special. We ordered two appetizers prior: muhamara and mushroom dumplings. Both of those were very good and unique in both presentation and flavor. In addition, we ordered drinks. The subourbon and lavender lady. Both were nicely presented but slightly sweet. We skipped dessert as there were no vegan options. The vibe is upscale and the seating options are fun with benches to couches and chairs. It's not a small restaurant, but not cavernous. Lowly lit and feels intimate.

The service was excellent. They make sure you receive a fine dinning experience. From cleaning your bread crumbs to refolding your napkin when you leave your table. The food was well balanced and well portioned. The flavors of black rice dish hit the spot. It had the perfect amount of spice. I also ordered a cesar which was interesting to eat since it wasn't precut. This made the salad taste more fresh than others I've had. I guess the reason why I don't give this place five stars would be the pricing. A bit high for the type of plates offered but definitely a good place to visit at least once.

This is such a beautiful restaurant space and so is the Daxton Hotel - the lobby and bar are quite stunning and it's styled so beautifully. Service was excellent - we even showed up 30 minutes late for our Sunday brunch reservation, but because I had called and spoke to them, they were ready for us when we arrived to a packed house at 1pm. The dining room is full of light - it's just lovely in the Winter to get a bit of sun in Michigan! The menu isn't super exciting - basic brunch faire - but the food was excellent. Particularly, the serrano ham fritters were just delightful - order them for the table. Piping hot and just delicious. I had the basic French omelet and bacon - perfect. I will say that they don't seem to be real up on their coffee game - a couple of us ordered lattes and they were definitely just coffee and milk. Fine, just not what we were expecting, and it would be nice to order a fancier coffee if you're not drinking alcohol at brunch. The cocktails looked quite good though. A very good experience and we will return.

    No.

    Are kids under 5 allowed?

Since the restaurant is in a hotel, I imagine all ages would be welcome. However, you should know that the menu is not especially kid-friendly. Plus, I don't think the ambiance would appeal to an under-5 guest.

The restaurant vibes were really nice. We were seated at a booth next to the window where you can see into the back kitchen. Our server was super nice and brought out bread for us. We ordered a spicy margarita and the lychee guava martini. The margarita was way too spicy for me but my friend tolerated it. I loved the martini!! It was so good I actually ended up having 3 of them. We originally planned on entrees but ended up just ordering all kinds of apps and got full off of those. It was really satisfying and we had fun trying all the different things they had. I don't think there was anything we didn't like. We got oysters, beef carpaccio, whipped ricotta, and beef tips. Towards the end of our meal the DJ started setting up and the restaurant was rearranging the furniture to make room. We were told our booth was sold but were welcome to continue in another booth until anything changes. The atmosphere transitioned really smoothly and we enjoyed ourselves. It was fun mingling and dancing and ended up staying until close. I would definitely come here again!

It's always a busy time for establishments, especially when it comes to holidays, but we repeatedly kept getting seated and "unseated" (the hostess would seat us, but then take us back to common area as the tables were either dirty or not ready). I didn't personally care about this, but I definitely noticed my party getting a bit frustrated by the experience as it happened about 4 times before we officially got seated, which also exceeded our initial reservation time. The service itself was okay. I wish they would've come around a bit more as we were out of water while eating our meal, but I know it was super busy that day!! I ended up getting the soft shell crab sandwich and it was pretty good! I think it would be even tastier with more sauce on the bun, but overall a nice pick. I also tried the lobster bisque; it had a nice texture with the little lobster bits, but found it overly salty. Hush puppies were a nice, crispy texture and I loved the sweet butter with it! One thing I absolutely loved about this experience was the mother's day flower pop-up stand! The cutest way to walk in and support another local business.
