I went on a weekday around noon and it wasn't that crowded. There is a 3% hospitality charge, just fyi! Their staff is so friendly and accommodating! Phoenix is absolutely amazing. Our food came out quick. I would highly recommend getting The GOAT sandwich ($17.50) --it's so good!! I also got the Blackberry Goat Cheese Pancakes ($16.00)--they were okay, nothing special. I brought my mom here today for brunch and we were provided excellent service by Phoenix. As usual, the pancakes and lattes were delicious. The place was crowded but we received our food within 15 minutes of ordering. The Madison and Madi are two of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. read more

For as much buzz and hype around this place I would have expected better service. Had to wait around for menus and for someone to take our order. Super cute bunch spot that I am so happy to have tried! We sat on the patio with my dog, which added to the beauty. Their outdoor patio is great. This place was great! Our party of 8 was there to celebrate a birthday and we had the best server, Phoenix. We got there half an hour before they closed and she never once rushed us or made it weird. She made sure to double check if we wanted to put in any more food or drinks even though we'd just put in our order. She was courteous, kind, and an overall delight. The vibes and decorations in here are so great, we went during Christmas and it was completely decked out in decorations and they even had a Christmas special menu for drinks. Be warned, if go during the cold season and get seated at the window, you will be freezing away. We were already situated and didn't want to ask to move. We initially had one server and after our order, we were given to another server but never advised. Service could've been slightly better with the new server. It seems like you have to try to track her down. We ordered waffles to share and had to wait a few more minutes before we could've asked for small plates. The drinks came out pretty fast. My friend had a cold brew latte and I ordered a banana bread latte. Mine didn't have much banana flavor and tasted like a sweet latte. I ended up ordering a regular coffee before the end of our meal. The food was delicious. No complaint with the papa locas (chicken wasn't dry) and the GOAT. The waffle churro sticks is a must. Since this is right on Adams Ave, only street parkings are available. We didn't mind though as we were passing the time with mimosas and chatting away. The mimosa carafe was $45, advertised as equal to about 5 glasses. It was just two of us so we definitely got more than 5 glasses out of it! We chose the guava elderflower and it came pre-made in a little pitcher. We thought it was worth the money. The chilaquiles verdes with soyrizo substitution was the bomb. There was so much food and I wish I could've finished it because it was that good. Full of flavor and I would definitely get it again. The blackberry & goat cheese pancakes were not a favorite though as they were dry and the outer edges were almost crunchy. It just didn't really meet expectations and it was pretty plain. My friends and I can never get enough of Madi. We come here pretty often and have tried most of the menu, and you truly can never go wrong. Just depends on if you're feeling up for something sweet or savory! I love that they have seasonal drinks too, but it's also tough because we fall in love with them and wish they were permanent flavors. I was so happy when they brought back the ube matcha. Every server we have ever had has been amazing as well and super attentive.
