Service is a little slow even when the restaurant is empty. The food is subpar, at best. I had the chicken kebab, and it was supposedly marinated. It really had no flavor, and the garlic paste was awful. It was very bitter, and I'm not sure who thought to serve this with the kebab. My dining partner had the salmon- also bland. We both agreed the chicken and salmon were well cooked- not dry. The rice was also buttery, and the best part of the meal. The baklava was served a warm plate, but was rock hard and almost tasted old. Plenty of parking doesn't save this restaurant- overpriced and not worth the time. read more

The food is really really good! Its a spacious place, lots of parking, outdoor seating, and fair prices. The labne btoum is my fav so delicious!!!! Lamb combo too!!! The breakfast is good too! My boyfriend and I saw this place on Instagram and decided to try it for a dinner date last night. The ambiance and decoration was the first thing we noticed, it was elegant and not over the top and the music was loud enough but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Their home made lemonades were amazing, we tried both the regular and the mint. For most of our meal we ordered off their specials, we started with the shawarma humus and the shrimp and calamari, both phenomenal. For our entrees I had the lamb chops and my boyfriend had the filet mignon; both were delicious and cooked to perfection. For desert we had the tiramisu, off their regular menu and it was delicious as well. The service was also amazing. Our server, Freddie, was very attentive and friendly. We were very happy with our experience and will absolutely come back. read more

What a wonderful experience! My family and I strolled to Madison Cafe & Grill and we are so happy we did! Restaurant is located in a perfect location with ample space and parking! Kaan greeted us with the biggest smile was so helpful throughout our entire stay! The food was truly amazing. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. We ordered the hummus, falafel, shawarma plate, tabouleh salad, pancakes, and a few more dishes! We gave it all a 10/10. It's BYOB and they serve breakfast ALL DAY! We cannot wait to come back! So much appreciation to this staff who let us walk in with our own drinks and provided carafes (heads up though, there's a $5 cork fee for BYOB) My group of friends just wanted to catch up over some mimosas and brunch. We were grateful to Madison for the very friendly and casual atmosphere and meeting those expectations I ordered pretty light - I had the tabbouleh and shared the baba ghannouj which actually filled me! I appreciate the tabbouleh's presentation My friends ordered the waffle and crepe pictured. I heard about Madison Cafe & Grill from a take-out menu flier left at my work. This 4 start rating is for a specific menu item (pickup/takeout). Today I had the Falafel Sandwich. I've had a version of this sandwich countless times. It's a favorite of mine and wanted to give it a try here. MC&G falafel sandwich was very good in an unexpected way. The way I've usually had this sandwich is pretty straight forward - falafel, salad, tahini, hummus in a pita/wrap. The one I had today was a little different w/ the addition of pickles, pickled turnips and mint. For me the pickles added just as much flavor as the falafel- maybe too much (?)...still wondering about that... It was unexpected but I really enjoyed it. The pickle/tahini flavor is delicious. The falafel itself was very good - not great - but very good. It was a wrap vs. a stuffed pita. The ratio of the hummus/tahini/hummus/salad was perfect. Overall, a really good lunch - not to mention a very nice value at $6. I'll most likely be back. I'm curious about other menu items- at the same time, I could picture myself getting the falafel sandwich again. read more

The food is so good. Have a second location closer to where I am located. Definitely tracking it down. Staff is attentive and helpful. Great coffee. Best pancakes I think I have ever had. Breakfast was so good we are coming back for dinner on a weekend. I honestly thought this was new location. Restaurant was clean and felt brand new. Been there for 8 years. We have eaten at the Cresskill location several times and had delivery as well. They are consistently delicious and friendly. The music is pleasant and the decor is modern yet warm. Today we enjoyed the blueberry and mascarpone French toast as well as an egg and sausage special with cappuccinos. As usual, it was tasty and fresh. The only thing keeping this from a 5-star review is that my husband's hot cappuccino was luke warm as well as the french toast. read more

Great place with excellent service, I came here for a birthday of a friend, I was amazed how good the food was, and the service was amazing, the people here are very friendly, my syrup bottle had issues but as soon they saw me struggling with the bottle they brought another one and apologized for the inconvenience. Madison Cafe & Grill is a quaint little cafe in Cresskill right by the Sunrise assisted living complex. The restaurant has nice ambiance and decor. It also has outdoor seating available when the weather is warm. My wife and I came here for breakfast and was very impressed with the experience. They have an extensive menu and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We each ordered an eggs platter (+Taylor ham and sausage) and got a vanilla pecan waffle to share. The eggs were cooked perfectly to our specification, and the waffle was fantastic. The pecan acted as a nice accent to the waffle and the vanilla ice-cream just took it to heavenly status. The staff was friendly and our food came in a timely fashion. Prices were fair and there's ample parking outside. We will definitely return to try some of the other menu items. read more

So delicious!!! The meal starts with a complimentary app of olives, Greek yogurt and pita chips. Perfect starter as we waited for entrees. We got the lamb kofte platters and shepherd salad. Excellent. The platters came on a bed of grilled peppers with a side of creamy hummus and jasmine rice mixed with vermicelli. Flavorful, not too heavy and savory. Nice space and outdoor seating but that's all they have going. Kebabs are not well seasoned and the dips taste store bought. No authenticity here. We rather make the trek to Cliffside Park or even River Edge for much better Mediterranean food. Staff is a bunch of high schoolers. Some seem well trained but others have no idea what's going on. We had a server come up to us and ask if we could leave our tip since he was done for the day. He wasn't even our server and only came to our table to ask for an early tip. This place leaves me scratching my head. What were they thinking when they made the menu? Super weird mix of Mediterranean and then American lunch and breakfast. The service was very friendly (a bit forgetful thou). The inside reminded me of a diner / coffee shop. A wee bit dirty. Liked my salted Carmel latte! They put a lot of pride into making me a good cup of coffee. The food just mediocre. I mean, how can they possibly excel at all these different types of food?! I am including a pic of what I ordered for $11- lamb souvlaki . Literally 4 cubes and 2 spears of pickle...there is a smear of hummus. Went here on a Friday night with a group of 4. It's BYOB and there is are a lot of food options to choose from. Tip, yelpers get a free hummus when you check in. Everything from the service to the food was fantastic. It was my first time here and we will definitely be back. It's also super affordable.
