Everything was very good as always at MCG. Quality food and outatanding service. BYOB a plus ! And do not pass on their breakfast, its is by far the best around. Skip the diners!! PS. This is the Edgewater location.

So much appreciation to this staff who let us walk in with our own drinks and provided carafes (heads up though, there's a $5 cork fee for BYOB) My group of friends just wanted to catch up over some mimosas and brunch. We were grateful to Madison for the very friendly and casual atmosphere and meeting those expectations I ordered pretty light - I had the tabbouleh and shared the baba ghannouj which actually filled me! I appreciate the tabbouleh's presentation My friends ordered the waffle and crepe pictured. I was pretty envious of how big the crepe was and am telling myself it's time to go back to order them for myself too!

Eggs Benedict for $13. Overcooked egg, unacceptable. UPDATE: Charles from Madison called and made things right.

Was about to write a scathing review re. overcooked eggs on my Eggs Benedict but Charles from Madison saw the pic. I posted and called and made it right already by offering another Eggs Benedict or credit for next time. Impressive response time and I appreciate the call to make things right.

    Falafel Sandwich

I heard about Madison Cafe & Grill from a take-out menu flier left at my work. This 4 start rating is for a specific menu item (pickup/takeout). Today I had the Falafel Sandwich. I've had a version of this sandwich countless times. It's a favorite of mine and wanted to give it a try here. MC&G falafel sandwich was very good in an unexpected way. The way I've usually had this sandwich is pretty straight forward - falafel, salad, tahini, hummus in a pita/wrap. The one I had today was a little different w/ the addition of pickles, pickled turnips and mint. For me the pickles added just as much flavor as the falafel- maybe too much (?)...still wondering about that... It was unexpected but I really enjoyed it. The pickle/tahini flavor is delicious. The falafel itself was very good - not great - but very good. It was a wrap vs. a stuffed pita. The ratio of the hummus/tahini/hummus/salad was perfect. Overall, a really good lunch - not to mention a very nice value at $6. I'll most likely be back. I'm curious about other menu items- at the same time, I could picture myself getting the falafel sandwich again.

Great place with excellent service, I came here for a birthday of a friend, I was amazed how good the food was, and the service was amazing, the people here are very friendly, my syrup bottle had issues but as soon they saw me struggling with the bottle they brought another one and apologized for the inconvenience. I will definitely be back here

Madison Cafe & Grill is a quaint little cafe in Cresskill right by the Sunrise assisted living complex. The restaurant has nice ambiance and decor. It also has outdoor seating available when the weather is warm. My wife and I came here for breakfast and was very impressed with the experience. They have an extensive menu and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We each ordered an eggs platter (+Taylor ham and sausage) and got a vanilla pecan waffle to share. The eggs were cooked perfectly to our specification, and the waffle was fantastic. The pecan acted as a nice accent to the waffle and the vanilla ice-cream just took it to heavenly status. The staff was friendly and our food came in a timely fashion. Prices were fair and there's ample parking outside. We will definitely return to try some of the other menu items.

Visited Antioch during the holidays so it wasn't that busy. I'm sure on a Friday and Saturday it'd be more busy. The restaurant itself doesn't have much seating, only a few tables, I would say about 50 people occupancy so if you're going, make sure you make reservations. The place was nicely decorated and well kept and clean. The service was great, but this is based on 2 tables being served. I'm sure the service is just as exceptional on busy days. I love that they start out with table bread, I wished they asked us if the table wanted more. We ordered a few dishes for the table, everything was delicious. The dishes we ordered is the usual dishes that we'd order from any Mediterranean restaurant. The fries calf liver is definitely something to try. Massive amounts of flavor. The chicken kebab is very tender and the steak had a nice char flavor. Can't wait to go back again and introduce this little place to more people.

We had to ask twice for our rice we ordered for entrees to be brought out because our server forgot. Fine, that happens. But what really threw me off was when I questioned if the mold in my cheese was normal, the server assured me it was naturally occurring for the flavor. I felt gaslit because I have never had Parmesan with such questionable green growth on it for consumption in any restaurant in my entire life. The server said if it bothered me, he'd bring out fresh shavings with no mold. I have left pictures so you can be the judge of this. Aside from my minor issue with the cheese, the ambiance of the restaurant was nice and there's plenty of choices for meat and non-meat eaters alike

The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I've ordered various things on the menu: hummus, lebneh, falafel wraps, falafel platters, baked kibbe platters, the green bean side, etc. All have been amongst the best Lebanese food I've tried. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

We got the jebneh, the lentil soup, and the falafel platter with french fries and salad. We started with the jebneh which is basically white pizza. It was pretty mid. I thought the lentil soup would be puréed but it wasn't and it had a ton of onions which I don't particularly care for. This is however a personal preference and not part of why I am giving two stats. The falafel was cooked well but not seasoned well and lacked flavor. The dipping sauce was watery, and could have also offered more flavor. My boyfriend and I went to finish the jebneh and I found a hair in it. Not mine and not my boyfriend's. I called Manouche to let them know and they offered to remake it but honestly the food overall really upset my stomach. My boyfriend also had a stomach ache after the food. The manager who I spoke to about the food was pretty unsympathetic and said she'd double check their processes and that hair was highly unusual. I just didn't love the customer service. Overall, the food even without the hair was mediocre. My boyfriend said the best thing was the root beer he got from there. I don't think we will be going back any time soon.

Great for groups of all sizes, reservations suggested but on this weekday visit, it was not too busy. We had a resy any way. Service was fair. Our waiter checked in with us once after we ordered and we had to beckon him twice - once for water refill and second for condiments/questions. What I didn't appreciate but understood, since we were two people dining, we got a corner table for two. It was not busy so we asked for the table next to us since we ordered plenty. They did not accommodate us saying they may need it for later. I did not think that was necessary since the place was not busy. This was 6pm on a Wednesday. And to boot, huge dining room - plenty of seating available. This was off putting as we said we ordered plenty. Our plates barely fit and they brought everything almost at once. Onto the food, I may not have ordered their popular dishes but nevertheless, nothing to rave about. Portions were shareable but it was just okay. There was not one stand out dish. I had higher expectations based on other reviews and photos but it was likely what we ordered. This was a vegetarian meal for me since I was dining with a vegetarian. - Moussakaa, this was a very tomato based sauce dish. Fried eggplant and chick peas combined had a nice texture. Mild flavors. - Arayess cheese - sorely disappointed. Very little flavor and I love my cheeses. It needed something to make it more appealing. It literally looked like cheese in a pita. And yes, by description it was. No condiments or side of anything to offset the plating. Visually flat. It could've used a sun dried tomato paste or some acidic side dipping sauce. - Yara Fries - shockingly simple, zaatar and spices. But they didn't put enough. It still looked like regular fries. And by the name, I expected more punch of flavor. It was not there. - Falafel - tricky dish if it's not cooked well. Simple again by name but the ingredients were just mild in flavor. Crunch was perfect. The chickpea, onions, cilantro and garlic was not pronounced. It was ok. Not memorable. - House wine, by the glass, decent and went well with what we ate. Would I return is the question... Likely not. The menu was so promising but nothing to bring me back.
