My boyfriend showed pictures of what haircut he wanted and not only did he not get even close to the picture, he accidentally cut his hair so short that he had to get a buzz cut. It took 4 years to grow his hair long and he ruined it in a few seconds. Even the buzz cut itself is bad. You can see the uneven cut he gave him. Looks worse in person. I normally don't write reviews at all, but this had to be done. The dude was preoccupied most of the time talking on his phone and to someone else trying to sell him something. Showed a picture on what I needed for a cut, and he didn't listen and fucked up my hair by shaving half of it all off. The moment he shaved above the sides, it was over. Tried to salvage it with a buzzcut, and it was horrible. He tried to fade it, and it was bad. The buzzcut wasn't evenly cut on the top. How do you mess up a buzzcut with a set clipper length? Then he tried blaming me by saying I told him to do it. Biggest regret to give this place a shot for the first time. I shouldn't have paid them a cent. Go here if you want a barber that doesn't listen to you and then fuck up your hair. I'd leave a 0/5 if I could. read more

I don't even know where to start. BEWARE OF THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AND STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! My friend when they're for a haircut. Everything started out very nice with good conversation with the barber. However, my friend started to bleed out off his right ear. He was freaked out and the barber was shrugging it off like nothing happened. He then continued his with the rest of the haircut and now he PRICKED my friend's Left ear TOO. it started to BLEED A LOT. My friend was PETRIFIED. He's scared of contracting communicable diseases and He asked to stop the session. He also asked if the equipment was disinfect properly. The barber out of nowhere seemed upset and ANGRILY said everything is SAFE. But he seemed PISSED at my friend. I just don't understand how he could treat customers like that. The owner of the store tried to intervene by giving my friend ALCOHOL to put on his wounds. I SAID NO. They gave him some fricking tissues to clean the blood. The owner then washed my friend's hair and it's all messed up. My friend wanted to style his hair again but the barber at this point refused to service my friend. The owner IS now ALSO MAD at my friend for wanting to style his hair . They should have been apologizing to my friend and I and try to DO THE RIGHT THING but instead they tried to kick us out. We DID pay for the shitty service and tip them just because we are decent people unlike them. P.S.: My friend felt terrible afterwards and I had to go to CVS for the antibiotic for the wounds they caused my friend. Nice & Clean, Comfortable shop. Called ahead so no wait. A guy named Saad [sp?] cut my hair and lined up my beard. It was way better than other line ups I've had. Twice I made an attempt to patronize Maestro Barber Shop - the first time on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 9:20 p.m. and on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 8:15 p.m. While their business hours are clearly posted as closing at 10:00 p.m., and there was another patron getting his haircut, I was shot down like a stray animal because they claimed they are closed despite it being a few hours PRIOR to closing. This happened months ago before rona got really bad and serious in OC, but I still want to share my story to warn others. The place I normally go for a hair cut is closed due to covid shutdown. Drove by and saw this place was open and no other customers were inside, so took a chance. A sign at the front door said masks are required, so that was reassuring. Walked inside and a guy was standing nearby so asked how much hair cuts cost. He answered $20 in a tone that sounded like it was obvious or I was dumb for asking. There were no signs of prices anywhere, so not sure why he sounded agitated. He told me a guy would be available in 5 - 10 mins. I assumed the other guy was on break or eating lunch, so no big deal. I was willing to wait. The other guy eventually appears and directs me to one of the barber chairs. I sit and after I tell him how I want my hair cut....he asks me to remove my face mask. He himself was NOT wearing a mask, and it's my fault, but I wanted a hair cut, so I took off my mask, holding my breath that he didn't have corona. During the hair cut, he answered his phone, and talked with the other person who I met in the beginning in their native tongue. I normally wouldnt care if a barber wants to chit chat with someone else. I'm there for a hair cut, not conversation. To repeat, he was NOT wearing a mask, and it felt so uncomfortable and scary. In retrospect, I should've put my mask back on, and asked him to put one on, or simply left, but this happened early on in the pandemic when things weren't too bad compared to now, and I didnt want to be confrontational. I dont know if this is an isolated incident or if they still dont wear masks and dont require customers to wear one. Oh, and at the end, he charged $25 despite the initial guy saying it cost just $20. If you want someone who half pays attention to you and talks to his friend, coworker, or employee and answers his phone in middle of cutting a customer's hair, and want to risk getting Covid, then roll the dice and come here. There are other places that take safety precautions seriously and focus on customers professionally and dont charge a higher price. read more

They will ruin your hair and charge you 30 dollars. (Tip is customary, of course) All of the positive reviews have got to be fake, no way this level of work is just a fluke. My barber had an attitude, yet his work was sloppy. I was extremely shocked, as the place seemed nice, well lit, was clean and decorated. He gelled my hair and slicked it back, which made me wonder if he knew he messed up and tried to cover it up. I did not ask him to gel it, he was surprised to see me back less than 10 minutes from when I left. I came back to have them fix it, luckily it was free of charge. But still, the same barber, made things way worse. Insisted it was even, along with the other barber who came across the room, looked for about 3 seconds, said "Yeah, it's even" and walked away. I gave up in defeat and left. The owner was nice, my barber, an older black gentleman, did a terrible job and was rude. read more

I also bought some excellent quality hair gel that I like. There is specified parking right in front of the shop. Extremely disappointed. I thought I could finally get a hair cut from an Arabic speaking barber. After about 30 minutes of waiting , I thought it was my turn....NOT! Someone walked in who knew them (apparently) and asked him if he could take care of him real quick that it wouldn't take long and what do you know,,,, sat him in the chair instead of me who's been there for about 45 minute now. First time I really liked how they included facial steam with the price of the haircut and beard trim, which I thought it was super pricey comparing to a lot of other barbershops in the area. However, I came back back because I thought it was worth it with the steam and mask they include with the price, but there was a different guy who gave me a super ugly quick haircut, I was very surprised when he's done and really didn't want to pay because he really didn't take the time to give me a good haircut and obviously he was just trying to get it done as quick as possible--I hated that hair cut to the point that I wanted to wear a hat to work but I thought I would just take it to Yelp to make y'all aware. I checked out the shops in my local area (walking distance) and found this one. They were on par with the other shops prices, how ever I'm used to paying less then $20 for a cut. My daughter picked a style and Ahmad got to work on it, it didn't turn out exactly but then again I don't have Mat Smiths head or features. It looked great, and I got complemented numerous times... I've been searching for a new barbershop because SuperCuts wasn't cutting it (no pun intended) for me. I literally looked on Yelp! and came across this place. I checked it out and made an appointment. I walked in and it was clean, welcoming. And relaxing. The pretty woman at the front greeted me and so did everyone else. I was immediately assisted and was even offered something to drink. I've nevr had that kind of guest service at any barber shop, salon. etc. The man cutting my hair did so quickly. Even got a wash! I tried conversing, but there is a small language barrier. I have no problem with that. :) I asked the woman at the front desk what language they spoke. They speak Arabic. I asked how to say "Thank you." She taught me. I thanked my barber in Arabic and tipped him. I am definitely coming back!
