I had significant concerns about how you went about taking care of our project.
1. When I touched base with you on Wednesday via text to confirm that you were coming you called me back that morning, telling me that the company did not have the mixture ready. You stated that this was due to the fact that the previous day was a holiday and they did not have the order ready. And, while you were talking to me on the phone, you were yawning as if you had just woken up. Which meant that you were just getting up as opposed to being in route to get this task taken care of.
It also suggested that you failed to place the order in a timely manner. We met with you the previous week. So you had multiple days to submit the order so that it would be ready that morning.
2. You wanted to delay the start for another day due to their not having the order ready. I explained that it could not be delayed as I had plans for that Friday. So you stated that you could arrive late but would arrive around 1PM. You reached out around noon to state that you would be delayed and would arrive at 2.
..... you arrived at 3.
3. Upon arrival, you stated that you had to go get the concrete to level a section of the patio that we had previously arranged. Why wasn't that item purchased earlier, prior to your arrival?
Anyway, you left for Lowes .And when you did not return right away I called you to ask what was going on. You stated that you had to purchase the concrete. No apologies or other explanation for your delay. Lowes is very close to us. I go there often. There was NO reason for you to take one hour to get that done.
So a project that should have started at 9 in the morning did not start until 4PM.
4. Upon arrival you asked to see our electric panel as you needed an outlet that was 20 AMPs or more. You asked if you could pull an extension cord into our house and use an outlet by our refrigerator. I have had multiple projects take place in our house by various contractors. I have NEVER had this question posed to me. So I had to drop what I was doing, pull out my panel guide, and assist you in finding an outlet.
If you have had this issue in the past wouldn't it be best to use a grinder which did not require that much power? Or use a portable Ground Fault outlet which you could click back on if pulled too much power. Your method popped our circuit you used multiple times. Totally inappropriate and not safe.
5. I noticed that you failed to fill in a large seam which separated the two patio areas. I finally had to ask if you were going to caulk it in. You expressed surprise when I asked and inquired if this was something we discussed. I was shocked by your response. Recall .... that I stated that the entire patio area was to be smoothed out when we met to discuss the project. Regardless .... why would this NOT be done????? It would look real bad if not done.
6. You completed the first part of the job at NINE that night. I have never had a contractor work that late on a task. And we have had major projects on our house over the years. When I asked you what time you would arrive the next day you stated it would be at noon in order to give the substance time to dry. So I planned my day accordingly.
7. The next day you contacted me and told me that you needed to finish another project and would be delayed arriving. You would arrive at 2PM and not noon. You later contacted me that you would be delayed an hour due to having to pick up your helper and due to traffic. You arrived at FOUR in the afternoon. Four hours after the planned start. FOUR HOURS!
So, my plans for both days had to be changed due to your failure to meet your time committments. This was extremely frustraing and disturbing.
I am taking the time to write this long message out in the hopes that it will help you going forward. Continuing to do business in this way will result in your not being successful. I cannot refer you to others who may need this type of work done. It will be in your best interest to seriously revise how you go about your operations.
Having stated all of the above I am happy with the outcome of the project. Our floor looks excellent. Unfortunately, getting to this point was extremely stressful. read more
