Only been here twice, but strangely still have not had to wait for a table, despite the location inside a busy (newly updated!) shopping center. Service is pretty fast and friendly. Portion sizes are huge, and mostly consist of the pasta. I hope you're not on a diet if you're considering coming here, as even the "light" options are high in calories (and probably other qualitative measures). Personally, I think the pasta is overcooked, too soft for my taste; also, too salty. Overall, I think they're just OK. read more

Where to begin? This place has MAJOR ISSUES! Has only been open 2 weeks and man do they need to retrain the wait staff. In addition to the terrible service, our appetizer (fried mozzarella) as well as all 3 meals (spaghetti with meatballs, jumbo crabcakes & Marguerita flatbread) were served ICE COLD. Our bottle of Meiomi Pinot Noir was also served overly warm?? The dessert (strawberry cheesecake) took 20 minutes to reach us. If all that wasn't enough, my husband said the Men's Room had a plumbing problem and reeked of sewer gas -- in a BRAND NEW restaurant?? We will NEVER go back here again -- unless it's to sit at the bar & order drinks. Even then, if it's wine, we need to give them a 20 minute advance notice so they can chill it (per our server). We had a family of 13 here. The staff was pleasant and patient with us and all our questions. We had the best waiter in James. Our father had special dietary needs, and James made sure that the chef came out to see what they could do to accomodate this. He made our dinner pleasurable and enjoyable and made us feel at home. A friend and I took our boys for a nice dinner before they leave for the summer. Maggiano's wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. A few other tables were also enjoying an early dinner, we were there at about 4:30. However, we waited more than 20 min with no server to even take our drink orders. By the time I decided to flag down the hostess the people that came in after us were getting their drinks and appetizers. As I flagged down the hostess a server swooped said "I'll take care of them" and took our drink orders, but after watching several EMPTY tables that were put together for a large group (that had yet to arrive) taken care more than we were our patients had run out. Horrible service!!!! My son was in tears when we left, not fun being ignored. My friend and I think it was because we had children with us (9 and 10 year old boys). We went to Gloria's Latin Cuisine instead they were WONDERFUL and service was exemplary! read more

Magiano's is typically a pretty reliable Italian food restaurant. Their Rigatoni D is great. This time I went for the Magiano's entre salad as my meal with Prociutto. My goodness it was a disappointment! This is their namesake salad but it was just a bit of iceberg lettuce blue cheese crumbles, couple slices of red onion and dressing and crunchy bacon bits they are calling prosciutto. The "prosciutto" was like baby fingernail clippings. They were tiny hard slivers. This was a totally uninspired salad. It was laughable. Magiano's is typically something well above Olive Garden but not a proper white tablecloth Italian restaurant. In this instance they would do well to be compared the Olive Garden. The balance of meals at our table were good. The wine list was a bit thin again somewhere above Olive Garden but well short of an Italian restaurant. read more

I came here on a Friday night with 2 friends, place was packed. There is only one main dining room with about 40 tables. Pretty loud. Our waiter was very confused and unorganized. Our meal lasted for 2 and 1/2 hours. By the time we finished we were almost the only people in the restaurant. Starting off we ordered appetizers, 2 side salads and a cup of the tomato soup. All very tasty, but then our waiter had the desert menu in his hand and placed it on the table, thinking we were not ordering entres. So 45 mins in he never asked us what we wanted to eat for an entre. Then he disappeared for 10 mins comes back and says oh I'm sorry I didn't know y'all didn't want entres. He never picked up the menus ethier. Or empty plates from our salads and soups. Then he took our entre orders finally after an hour, we were in no hurry but the problem was he never asked us for our main course orders. We were celebrating my birthday dinner here, so He said I got a complementary desert. I choose the creme brûlée. Not terrible but not the best. It was luke warm, and by this time I was ready to leave. The waiter was very nice, just super slow. I would try it again, but it's not my first choice for a nice evening with friends. My third visit to this particular restaurant , the food is good , they take reservations, the service is less than stellar. I do not think it is the specific waiter/ waitress , I think they try to cover too many tables with the staff they have. We had reservations but it still took 15 minutes to get in on a Saturday night. The wait for walk ups was 2 hours. We waited on drinks , refills , bread, even herbs for the olive oil since they do not have one per table. I had the beef medallion with garlic potatoes , it was very good, creamy potatoes and tender beef with some mushrooms. The appetizers of spinach and artichoke in cheese was tasty, the stuff mushrooms were firm and none were left . read more

We had the chef's selection today. The waiter highly recommended the dish. The sauce was to thick and tasteless. Laid on the plate in a yellow blob. The fish was a small, dry portion that surrounded the crab cake. The crab cake was good. The manager was very nice, he listened to me and adjusted our bill. We spent my birthday at a local Clear Lake Italian restaurant and it was the worst birthday I have ever had. Maggiano's had sent me a coupon for my birthday and we decided to try again. We had a great time. Troy our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable. Our meals were awesome and Troy did the carry out option for us and we tried two different dishes for meals at home for the next night and they were just as good. My husband and I have eaten here three times now, twice in-house and once as a to-go order. This review is about the service. Our food and drinks are consistently well made and delicious, no matter what we order! The first experience, we arrived at a busy time but were able to sit at at a table in the bar within 5-10 minutes of arriving. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive so we were able to enjoy our meal and be on our way. We were out in less than an hour and did not feel rushed. The second time, I called in a to-go order and was placed on hold for around 8 minutes. When I arrived to pick up the order, both the to-go hostess and manager were surly and unwelcoming. The order was not ready so I went to the bar and enjoyed a tasty beverage. The bartenders were efficient, but not overly friendly. I returned to the to-go area and was warmly greeted by a different hostess. She was accomodating and pretty much changed the entire experience from terrible to wonderful. The third time, my extended family and I visited on Christmas Eve. With a reservation booked weeks before, we were seated immediately. We had two servers for our group and they worked well together. They timed everything appropriately and we never once felt rushed. Great job, guys! I think the standard of service is improving. Hopefully in a few months all of the kinks will be worked out and service will be on par with the other established Maggiano's. read more

I love the Maggianos on Post Oak, but this establishment is far from it. The only thing similar is the name. We fortunately had a reservation, so we didn't have a wait which most do. I highly recommend making reservations as the restaurant was built way too small and there are constant waits. Our service was good and the waitress was friendly. My main complaint is the ambiance or lack there of for a restaurant in this price range. I've dined in cafeterias which had a better feel. The main dining area is too cramped; tables on top of tables with limited booths at the perimeter of a big room, is the best way I can describe it. When the space is full, like the night we ate there, the sounds reverberate and only way to communicate with your party is to yell across the table. Again, such a disappointment if you're comparing this location to the Post Oak restaurant. I cannot recommend spending top dollar to eat here. If you're in the area, go to Yard House or Perry's instead. read more

I just have a few comments. #1,we waited 10-12 minutes before our server was able to bring our cocktail order. That is because, he said "he had to go and find the bartender". Went for my birthday dinner with the family, had a really good meal. I picked the fettucine alfredo and it was great to have a second meal to take home. Two others in my party also ordered dishes (spaghetti and meatballs) and had a meal to take home too. For the prices of the pasta, though, I think a second portion makes it less over the top expensive. Meal was pretty pricy overall and although the service was good and the food tasty, I prefer Buca di Beppo on Buffalo Speedway. Maybe it was just the location. But the pasta here wasn't as good. We tried the Tuscan shrimp, the lobster spaghetti, and fettuccine Alfredo. The Tuscan shrimp was good, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. It has a nice zing to it. I personally didn't like the lobster spaghetti, it has a weird flavor to it, and it certainly wasn't worth the $30. The portion wasn't enough for its price. The Alfredo was probably the best thing I ate. It was creamy, however there wasn't any meat or anything in there. I think you'd have to pay extra for that. However, our server was exceptional. She was very patient with us and had all our orders right! I never got her name, but she is pretty short, and has a nice smile. And also, this other waiter for another table had broke a wine glass and half the restaurant clapped when it happened so I thought that was really cute! This place is good, but the pricing is a little too expensive. And the lighting in this place is really dim. I rather prefer Olive Garden over this though. Sorry. read more
